Minecraft would've been a completely different game if it was run solely by Notch, his plans for inventory and combat were very different from how it is now.

It's just that Minecraft would be a harder game with RPG/Magic + Darker tone focus with it's own bag of problems instead of a casual sandbox with survival elements that has ridiculously broken mechanics and horribly shallow progression that mojang can't fix for a decade because community would go haywire at any significant difficulty increase.
I'd love both.

if mojang wanted to copyrigth strike / cease and desist that font, it wouldnt end well. due to how pixelated fonts work, there is only a very very limited arrangement that keeps them legible. this would be like copyrighting the special "a" but not the other a shape that is in "@". its a moot point, its a pixel font, nobody cares, "minecrafts" font is a standard 5x7 pixel font used everywhere
yeah, this was something worth mentioning though because Microsoft isn't happy with Notch and this technically is the one thing that carried over from the game to Notch's new project

Having kept tabs on Notch here and there for a while, I'm really happy for the guy. And am glad he is back to doing what he loves.
I don't really care if he makes Minecraft 2 but hopefully he decides to in the future or if he decides to join a project. I think he's more likely to join or partner with another voxel game project rather than start one, he doesn't like to be a leader and the fact he has a "manager" now I think he is starting to humble himself.
Im Genuinly so fucking exited for him to make games again, notches old games (especially old minecraft) had such a "vibe" to them. you know what i mean? the noisy crunchy textures, the desaturated colours, the thick fog all his games had. it was never creepy. it was an odd coziness. i fucking love it, the hype is unbelievable

i feel like Notch is a lot like John Romero, in the way that he's done and said things that he was universally panned for, but he made great games. Then he quit making games for a long time, then came back and started making something incredible.
It would make sense that he's taking a dungeon crawler given one of his first games was titled "Legend of the Chambered", and from the looks of things, it looks like a spiritual successor to it.
I didn't show the post in this video but he said the current game is taking parts of his other old and abandoned projects
He liked one of my tweets that referenced the chambered series, so I think it is a spiritual succesor.

Mojang is slow-paced at optimizing the game. If they put in a backpack it means there can and will be dupes. Shulkers did a great job fixing a part of this problem. Mojang is slow at fixing things so that's likely the real reason, and also to keep the game's simplicity.

I originally put this in my "Hytale Is A Joke" video but just because I love seeing comments mentioning this I am going to start putting that in the start of my videos now, I also put up chapters in my videos to make it easier for people who don't have time. I will start suggesting people to put the video on 2x speed because it's funny, and I have a lot of experience with short-form content and seeing very low attention spans to long-form videos

Many people would have extended a video like this to 10 minutes, I lay out the facts the first minute or two that Notch isn't making Minecraft 2 and provide his statements saying he just wants to feel alive/young again and is not interested in doing anything insane. But I am glad you enjoyed the video.
So glad notch's back! I hope whith something that he can work on and keep his mind busy will improve his mental health even more than now. After first reading notch's reasoning after stepping down, I completely understand. He had accidentally built a giant tower, and the only way to get down was to use saddening stairs.

Gold actually has such a low durability in real life that if you bite hard enough you can leave a detailed bite mark and gold isn't stronger then diamond.

Relating to the whole manager thing, its very common for people who are "wealthy" to have managers. It's nothing out of the ordinary. Notch has clearly had no mental structure after selling minecraft to accomplish much else, he was set for life. Living without any objective gets very depressing easily especially with the complications that come with having a publicly large amount of wealth (fake friends etc) that the only people you relate to are other super rich people that are still actively pursuing their respective ventures whilst notch kinda had nothing else going for him since he's literally no longer needed at all on his one greatest creation. Having someone that he can personally trust on a personal level and to motivate him and help organize a lot of other tasks so all he needs to do is simply focus on creating whatever his next idea is really unlocks a lot of lost potential in him. Obviously nothing he makes now will ever top Minecraft, but that's for good since all he needs to focus on is simply the core game itself rather than monetization etc.

I completely understand why Notch wants to do this. My dad himself has been designing a tabletop RPG dungeon generator for a while now and he likely is going to also make his own personally made Sci-Fi Tabletop RPG a version of it.

He's actually worked on smaller projects over the years but simply never finished or released them, this time though he sounds and looks actually committed this time to releasing a game.
That's cool of him, I'm glad that he's trying to get out of his rut. I hope people don't expect something grand out of him or raise their expectations too high since it seems like the guy is just trying to make a game he likes or is proud of.
seeing a grumpy and depressed guy getting out of his seat, going outside, and living like the old times is something that is satisfying to watch. Anyone who has seen the SunnyV2 documentary on Notch, it's clear the guy is lonely, he can't trust anyone, on top of that the guy has no one to look at for a moral compass. Notch became more and more radical the more secluded he became, he's definitely said stupid stuff in the past but, as someone said about Notch in the comments of that documentary video "he switched to creative mode and realized survival was better"
I don’t think we have sufficient evidence to trust that Notch has changed. A UA-camr named SethTheProgrammer was CAUGHT grooming minors, so he left UA-cam for a year. He came back and has still addressed NOTHING.
Trusting people without evidence of change isn’t the smartest decision. Keep them deplatformed until you know real change has been made.

Though I don’t agree with or like some of the tweets he’s made over the years, all I can see nowadays regarding the man is solely hate for his legacy. Guy did a LOT for not just the gaming industry, but also many childhoods and YTbers, myself included. And I hope that’s how history, despite his flaws, will remember him, and I hope that he’ll be able to finish the new game as he sees fit.

Honestly, with the current state of gaming being that triple a studios are focused on monetization making lackluster games as a result, and indie games being well-received because the developers did whatever they wanted to make the game fun, I think notch is doing the right thing by just making a small title without trying to revolutionize anything.
His new game won't cause a stir in the gaming workd and it doesn't need to. It'll probably just be "a surprise to be sure, but a welcome one."

The last video I watched was the MrBeast situation video that people gave him a lot of hate for, his videos are overdramatic and such, but, he was originally making Minecraft content
I feel like it’s important to mention, Notch has been making video games long before Minecraft. Sometimes cranking out like 1 or 2 a week. It’s not like he woke up one day with “push it to the limit” playing in the background and just decided to make arguably the most successful video game of all time.😂Although that would make a really kickass movie.

I did make an error in this video, a pure diamond armor/pickaxe can be shattered in one go however you put individual diamonds in a pattern when using it as a tool in real life
