Sad news regarding the closure of whitehaven accident repair 😞
The workmanship and detail is fantastic 👏
Thanks very much Stephen. Much appreciated 👍
Another great episode! This mk1 is stunningly beautiful and it’s a joy to see it coming back together again. The new carpet almost looks “too plush” to be in such a performance orientated car, so I hope all of your passengers wipe their feet before getting in ha ha! Live long and prosper 🖖 buddy, - already waiting for the next episode! 👍🇬🇧
Phil Tucker Thanks Phil 👍 appreciate the positive comment.
Craig, your attention to detail is second to none, super build. 👍
Barry Ford Thanks very much Barry.
@@performanceclassics1986 thank you Craig, so glad I stumbled across your channel. I’m a real devotee now.
respect to companies like this..your work looks fantastic guys..a dying art
and the RS 2000 mr..looks great
sparkyindahouse Yeah they were great. Such a shame. Thanks very much 👍
That is a stunning looking carpet (can’t believe I’m saying that 😂) but it is! Stunning car you’ve built too. Top quality workmanship sir! 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
Simod Thebod Thanks very much Simon 👍
Mate 👍👍 that Mini in the intro is on!! Love the Eskys my first car.. but never got to do anything to it sadly
Thanks Vicki. If you have a look through my videos I do a video where I take the mini for a very short drive but it shows the mini in more detail.
Craig this car is a credit to your hard work, it looks amazing
Tony Aylott Thanks very much Tony
Just stumbled across this channel and what a great build this is, Car looks stunning.
Thanks Sean. Appreciate the comment 👍

Unbelievable progress 👌🏻
Joe tweedie Thanks Joe 👍
Loving it. keep em coming.
Ste Gŕadon Thankyou 👍
Great work! As a result I bought the same carpet from Newton Commercial it’s excellent..👍
Really coming along well . Very tidy job on the screen cables .
tom thompson Thanks Tom 👍
Its great how you are building a car that includes the personal comforts & touches you want it to have yet staying as origional as can be done, a credit to you.
To the guys who painted your cars enjoy your retirement you will definately be missed, the images i saw were of outstanding work well done.
Craig you've run out of biscuits mate & there's a que at the door 🤣
Thanks very much Jimbo. They will certainly be missed. 1 guy in particular will be really really missed by everybody. The guy who did all the paint prep on my car was a fantastic, hard working talented real nice guy who tragically passed away on Sunday. Heart attack 😢 he was only 52 and has 2 young kids. Such a huge shame. Devastated for him and all his family. Thanks for the positive comment. Really appreciate it 👍
@@performanceclassics1986
Thats really sad news, only 52, my condolences to his family, absolutely heartbreaking.
Jimbo it Really is. Cars a credit to the work he put in to the prep. Thanks again 👍
Nice job , you have done. 👍
John Rowell Thanks John 👍
This guy needs and deserves million subs. Epic build. ✌️✌
Thanks very much 🤣 That would be nice. Then i could retire and build cars for customers full time 😎
Performance Classics. And if I had the funds for a project like this I’d be your first customer. 👍.
@@cloudninephoto 😎 appreciate that
That carpet fitment is spot on ! Heated windscreens are virtually unheard-of here in Australia, I was wondering why they don't have the plugs up the top out of view... Great work on the mk1 👍
Marty Thanks Marty. It would be better if they were single core cables rather than the wide copper strips. Small cables would be soo much easier to hide. Really nice to see viewers from soo far away from home 👍
Hey pal just found your page good watching, that escort going to be a nice thing. Cheers *oldskool motors*
Oldskool Motors Thanks very much 👍 labour of love 😎
Take alook at my page see them used
Oldskool Motors I will just do that 👍
That carpet was amazing, I've fitted carpet replacements in the past and they have been dreadful 👍👍
dudley wordley Thanks. These are really good quality. I would certainly recommend them to anybody even though it does take 6-8 weeks wait
Cheers 🥃👍
Perhaps you could use small bore rubber pipe (like vacuum hose) cut along its length to create a grommet for the quickclear ribbon cables. Lovely Mk1 RS2000 😉👍
Sean Pasterfield Ive just done very similar sean. I cut down a 20mm open grommet and it formed beautifully into that cut out. Ive shown it done on the next video 👍Thanks for the comment and idea
Love you videos , what option did you go for reference your carpet , loop-hole or carvell Looks absolutely spot on 🙌
I honestly can’t remember now paul. I will have to look back at the receipt. I know it came from Newton Commercial part no CK 660 but just can’t remember what type it is. I’m nearly sure its cut loop. Let me know if you need more info and I will dig out the receipt. Thanks Paul 👍
Great work, but you really need to invest in a remote mic for when you're doing presentation bits further from the camera. It's a pain in the arse having to jump the volume up to number 60 to hear you, only to be deafened and need it back down to 20 as soon as the music starts, lol.
Yeah a few people have said the same. Im going to look into this soon 👍
Really great build! Been looking at carpet options.this looks great and neat. Where did you get the aluminium strips for the interior?
Its a great fitting carpet Ashley. The aluminium strips Are from GS Escorts at Runcorn. Have a chat with Graeme from GS and he will sort you out. Gs can be found both online and on facebook Ashley.
Craig is there any chance we could have a look at trolley you use to move the car around, many thanks Tony
No problem Tony. I will remember to do a short video on the trolley and how it mounts to the body and include it in a future video very soon 👍
👍🏻👏🍺
It looks a lot better, could you have two plastic covers 3D printed to hide them ?, just a thought.
shane Proctor It now has some grommets and looks even better but yeah the 3D printing idea would be great too. Could make some small covers that look Factory 🤔 👍
By any chance is this the carvel or the loop pile ?
Im not actually sure sorry. How would i know?? Its a more flat pile than the original i think.
hi craig could you tell me which carpet you bought i see they have two forsale at newton commercial.
Hello the Ebay item number for the one i purchased is 162173085547 and its £223.81 plus postage.Hope that helps. Im not sure what the difference is with the other one they list 🤷♀️
@@performanceclassics1986 thanks mate.
@@davidhunter3210 no problem at all.
@@performanceclassics1986 Hi Craig got my carpet today i was surprized as the email said it would take 8 to 10 weeks, cheers mate.
@@davidhunter3210 oh thats superb. I think mine took about 5-6 weeks but not as long as i expected either. They fit great 👍
2 screens broke on fitting ???? ore delivery wee will never know
It was on Delivery David. Possibly due to a combination of poor packaging and bad courier. If i had broke it on fitting, i would just own up.
Did I not watch this yesterday?
Bespoke Baits Yeah you did but i had to take it down because i accidentally left my address details on a box in clear view on the video 🤦♂️
Oh yes I saw that
Bespoke Baits I really dont know how i missed it 🤦♂️
@@performanceclassics1986 easy done. I was just going to wait till it was finished and pop over and borrow it lol. I used to Autocross a mini then built a RWD Fiesta with 2.1 pinto. Don’t have a garage nowadays though. What software do you use to edit?
Bespoke Baits I do all my Filming on an Iphone XS then all the editing in Imovie. I dont think they turn out too bad considering its all done from a phone 🤣
