You are an absolute legend man. Ive learned a ton from you, finally got to try some hard stuff out and it was the most fun i have had in a long time including drag racing, which says alot. im am 100% subscribed to this channel

You are welcome glad you enjoyed the video =) Yeah when you break it down step by step it's a lot easier to do. It's just a matter of practice and making it look smooth from there.
It basically repeats the first few moves with a transition between the repeat. 1.Step under left arm, 2.Left arm over her face(end up back to back), 3.right arm over her then over you, 4.left arm over her face(side by side), left your arm push her out leaving left arm high, then repeat 1-4 except on step 4 you left go with your right hand to spin her out.
Maybe it's because I'm Canadian, but I learned this in school and we call it "The Octopus". Either way it's a fun little move that's actually easier than it looks :)

@donrobbins357 - Thank you... It's Savannah that makes me look good out there... She's taught me everything I know :) Glad the videos helped, and I've always wanted to try drag racing, we might have to make a trip out and go racing and dancing!
The way I have learned the pretzel is different- instead of doing a reverse pretzel out of it, the follow gets dipped and then spun outwards. Is that technically still a pretzel? Thanks!

You can do it just break it down into parts :)
I'm doing it in my 6th grade dance and we didn't learn it like that
i remember teaching a girl this and my elbow hit her in the head. lol oops.

This literally looks like you're trying to solve a human knot, not dancing. There is no musicality to this... Also you can hurt someone doing this.
Ever tried doing it with a girl during a dance? They absolutely love it. And so do I. It's fun.
I really don't want to start anything. If you're interested in partner dancing, I don't know about "country swing", but Lindy Hop and other swing dances are very fun. That being said, most follows ("girls") I know would hate to be led in the pretzel. It's very uncharacteristic of swing dancing in general.

Paul Ryan I went swing dancing tonight for the first time, and a few guys did this move with me. (Mind you, I had no idea what I was doing and no experience) I thought it was so fun! As long as the guy knew what he was doing and pulled me along, I just had to follow and spin around. To me, it was one of the more enjoyable moves. I loved it :)
