Autistic portal master here, and i want to add on that how Activision choosing specifically chose Trigger Happy and Splat for the variants could be seen as stereotyping autism in boys and girls. Trigger Happy is notorious for being a hyperactive, crazy goofball. We all love him for it! But put into the context of autism, he's basically your stereotypical autistic boy. Splat being a more mature, artistically-inclined, feminine isn't much better with autistic girls either. If Skylanders was still making games, I'd be so happy if they made Power Red/infinity symbol variants instead of these. #redinstead

There are ways to get educated about autism without using stereotypes, for example, explaining how autism is a spectrum and people with it experience it different (troubles with social cues, sensory issues, etc.) Admittedly, this complaint is more about subtext, because at face value, its just a couple of figure variants made in a collab with a bad company, but any two other characters could have been chosen! But what's done is done, and we can only look back and realize that this situation could've been handled with a SHIT load more care.
I think that activision didn’t know what autism speaks did and just heard about a autism awareness collaboration and said “yeah lets do this” i hope that they discovered all the controversial stuff and regret it a bit. But at least they look nice :)

For the variants, they actually look pretty cool and to me it would've been great if they gave us Power Blue Ember and, like another comment said, the characters chosen for the variants actually could have been chosen for reminding people about the autistic stereotypes.

This is where I first heard of Autism. Skylanders is one of my favorite franchises ever. I'm autistic myself. Poetic and beautiful when you think about it, one of my favorite franchises ever introducing me to a disorder that was with me since I was born.
They chose probably the 2 worst and potentially most offensive skylanders for something like this in the whole game. Someone who’s made her entire life, her hobby and someone with their tongue out constantly who speaks broken English. That honestly makes it kinda funny to me.
Though terrible that they worked with Autism Speaks, I will say these figures are my absolute favorite color combo and that mid toned blue is *so* pretty. It makes me so glad that I can only get them secondhand now because I would've felt so bad if I was still in to Skylanders by the time these released [I fell out of love with Skylanders right after Superchargers released, where I got the game but then....never played it? Or at least never finished it] because I would've most likely picked them up because I was a dumb little kid. But now I can happily buy them secondhand and not feel bad for giving money to an organization that acts like it hates me lol.

Autistic person here, i dont even know even this company they collab (i thought they do this variant themself until this video appear in my recommendation) and if we ignore the company and concentrate with skylander team and the intention, is still a good thing for skylander part, they try to put awareness of people who have autims with they IP most popular that time, when i found the existence of these two skylanders i feel comfortable and happy of knowing the company think about us and care about us, and people who dont know but love skylander they can learn about it and know about the existence of Autism even the bad part of it remained there, there still a lot of good things come more out from these figures, of corse, we cant still ignore the bad thing, but as long you dont support the company they collab is good to go
To be honest, I didn’t know these blue figures were related to some partnership with some other organization. I just thought they were just another alternate color scheme that, in my personal opinion, kinda sucked.
The colour scheme for the power blue variants remind me of Stormer from Lego Hero factory which is another franchise I enjoy and it gives the opportunity to try Splat's and Double Dare Trigger Happy's other upgrade path and have a cheaper alternative for the latter. That's about it really when it comes to stuff I like about this variant and it is my least favourite variant in the skylanders series because of the bad choice of charity to support.

I don't know too much about Autism SPeaks, but framing colors on gender is just stupid af. Blue and white doesn't mean boys, light blue is a color associated with happy things. It might also be a referance to the sentence "i feel blue" meaning you feel down, which is can be linked to people on the autism spectrum hance they get seen as outcasts.
Man I know the company is fucking dog shit but idgaf😭 as someone with autism and who owns every single Skylander game plus hundreds of figures, this is quite literally the best thing to ever happen in the series for me hands-down. what makes it even better is my favorite character to make a power blue variant of (trigger happy). Plus, I personally enjoyed the blue and white color scheme of the original logo/ figurers anyway and for better or worse I grew up with the puzzle piece and I personally enjoy it over any of the newer logos.
