    Patriots don’t win that year without Drew. His selflessness, leadership and support of Tom (even if he didn’t agree with Belichick starting him) and of course coming in to save the day in the AFC title game. Well deserved. Hell of a player and career.

      @@cftkd4802 I agree that Bledsoe was a good QB. I think 3 losing seasons out of 8 is more correct. He had 3 good years at 11-5, 10-6 and 10-6. The other two years were 8-6 and 8-8. His last 3 full years were 8-8, 6-10 and 5-11. His 9th year he was 0-2. He was injured in game 2. So don't count the 9th year. If you do count the 9th year, he had 4 losing seasons, 4 winning seasons and one 8-8 season. Brady took the team from 0-2 to the playoffs and a Super Bowl win. Bledsoe won the playoff game against the Steelers. Bledsoe had just over a .500 record with the Patriots and about a .500 record with the Bills and Cowboys. I like Bledsoe and I disagree that "Bledsoe was garbage and led the pats to so many losing seasons". He didn't, but Bledsoe was barely above average. Belichick made the right choice with Brady. Bledsoe was good. Brady was elite!

    • @scottleung9587
      @scottleung9587 5 місяців тому +1

      Agreed - it still bothers me that Bledsoe doesn't get enough credit for how high he set the bar for the Patriots prior to Brady's reign. Belichick might not have thought highly of him even after that terrible injury he sustained, and I don't agree with Kraft all that much on certain things but he was right to say that Bledsoe was treated unfairly after he was cleared by the doctors to play. After that, his career pretty much went downhill after unsuccessful gigs with the Bills and then the Cowboys. However, I'm glad he was inducted into the Patriots HOF in 2011 as his prime still continues to be under Brady's shadow.

He's a hard worker and made himself much better, but he needs loads of talent around him to be successful. With a hall of fame coach, a top 5 defense, and plenty of weapons you can win with Tom. He reminds me of Montana - both filled with bitterness and jealously of Brady, masked behind pleasantries.

      He WAS...now it's Brady. Maybe in 20 years it will be someone else.

      I don't think he's bitter at Brady personally. He's bitter over the situation. Everyone wants to play and be the reason they win. You don't play at his level if you don't. Yeah, it bothers him and obviously not a great moment for him. No one feels great when they are benched, and the other guy does better. Anyone that says they're just 'happy' for them are lying.

      BTW, Montana took it personal against Steve Young. Montana is so petty to me. Just like he's bitter about Tom, because people call him the goat now.
      Every backup QB is there to compete for your job. That's the sport. Steve Young is to blame? He's trying to compete.
      Being angry at the situation, okay, I get it like Drew clearly is. He didn't take it out on Tom, that's the difference. Montana did take it out on Young. Just stupid...
      Young wasn't there to just hold his jock strap. Just like Tom wasn't there to do that with Drew.
      Drew understood the nature of the business, and didn't have a personal vendetta over it. But make no mistake, he HATES IT. Got zero problem with that.

      @@Skwid-Lives awww look at the montana fanboy getting all salty. Too bad montana himself said Bradys the GOAT and with SEVEN RINGS he would be correct. Remember when Montana was benched in favor of steve young before regaining the starting job again back in the late 80's? Yeah looks like you don't. Let those tears flow
