I can relate to Amanda. I'm not diagnosed, but my child is and I see the signs within myself. It explains so much about my social interactions throughout my life. Missing social cues and nuance. Difference with me is...if you want to misunderstand me and not work it out, I will let you. Twirling right along.

There is a very different struggle for an adult black woman vs a child being diagnosed as autistic. Not only is it expensive and lack of licensed people with experience to diagnose an adult. Just being a black woman the hoops you have to go through are hard and alot of downtime while you go through the process. As an educated high masking black woman you, you hit a point where things click, especially for information being so available online. Not saying she isn't wrong it certain points but those with autism not only don't pick up on cues but they have their own specific ideal of justice. Another point is it takes us a while to process things and once we do, it leads to big emotions

Amanda wants male validation and thats that. She was mentioning different men she dated and her flings because she wanted to get some props from him. None of us knew she dated Pusha T, Lupe Fiasco and sleeping with the producer in Floetry but i felt like she made herself give those facts to gauge his interest and try to entertain him

Autism has been deduced to someone being smarter than a lot of people and coming off as rude due to social cues, and it’s so much more than that as someone who has worked in the developmental space with autistic kids

It’s okay to self diagnose but please follow up with a licensed professional because so much of what we know about neurodivergent disorders is often pigeonholed to two types when there is so much more. And like Bondy said she needed the diagnosis to get treatment/medication - Amanda can’t go about treatment or assistance or coping habits with this self diagnosis …. It’s seemed more like an excuse than an explanation
