New System Worth Investing In? | LEGO Harry Potter Hogwarts Castle Owlery (76430) Review
Вставка
- Опубліковано 27 чер 2024
- Despite snowy Hogwarts looking absolutley gorgeous, this set is the first time in 24 years that LEGO has made a Hogwarts set featuring snow. The LEGO Harry Potter Hogwarts Castle Owlery marks the start of a new era of Hogwarts Castle modular sets, but is it worth investing into?

Holly as far as LEGO Harry Potter reviews go, you're still the GOAT. These new sets are great, I haven't been buying any Harry Potter for about 3 years but I think it's time. Time to wait for a sale.
It's clear that she actually cares and knows what she's talking about, unlike most of the lego sponsored reviewers.
I actually avoid all other reviews for LEGO Harry Potter and wait until her videos come out. She's by far the best and the most passionate when it comes to the theme.
My favourite of the other channels by far is Cheesy Studios. He’s someone who I feel shares that same passion, history and love for not just Harry Potter but LEGO Harry Potter as a theme. I love what he does, and I always go and check out his thoughts after I finish my videos about my own.
@@HollyOnFilm Yeah Cheesey Studios is awesome too, but you're the "Supreme Overlord" of LEGO Harry Potter to me. I mostly watch him for his LEGO Minecraft stuff and theme retrospective series.
@@HollyOnFilm I completely agree, there are certainly q few out there.
I absolutely adore the snowy details on this set and it’s just a beautiful model, I’ll definitely be picking this one up! Great video and I’m loving the new reviews so far!
The choice of Filch was presumably book-based.
I like this a lot more than the boathouse, and I agree that the snow looks amazing. I wish they'd do some more Hogwarts Castle sets covered in snow.
I really hate the trend of LEGO buildings going from having 3 walls to now only two with a 90° angle. they did the same with the newer Weasleys' Wizard Wheezes
YES 😭 I was gonna say this too
That’s interesting! I personally quite like the odd one here and there, I feel like the burrow was another that is that that (or at least looks best from that angle). I hope it’s not every set though cause I think it would make things hard to display
@@HollyOnFilm In this build The 2 rounds 90 degrees angle actually work out I think. since it's representing a more round small tower.
I'm really enjoying seeing the fern pieces used as tree branches, I think it works really well.
Such a great piece, I’m glad it has popped up frequently since releasing with Rivendell
I though it was owl droppings at first not snow 😅
That’s amazing 😂
I was trying to collect all of the harry potter sets, but after the 2021 change in the Castle system, I really lost interest. But I like this new system. I may try and get more. Although I just spent $400 on Gringotts to finish my Diagon Alley so, probably not right now lol!
my favourite part is the first floor at the top of the stairs which uses the bricks to make the face of an owl
Holly please make a video combining the Owlery and the Boathouse with the 2018-2020 Hogwarts Line! I would love to see if they work together
If another two mini-figs were to be added, definitely another Ravenclaw girl , maybe a "spy" from Slytherin or even "Mad Eye Moody"!
Thanks for sharing your reviews love your channel
And it’s so cool that you’re wearing a Harry Potter robe nice 😃❤️
This set is incredible in the sense of having multiple useful elements, like the new fern pieces in different colors and bricks that can be reused elsewhere (MOCS if you want). Also, Harry and Cho's casual attires are incredible, like the Dark-Red Owl and the little baby one. Solid set overall with a decent price (still wish it was 40€ instead of 45)
Love the background music Holly ❤
Hogwarts cover with snow is stunning 😍 have a great day!
Using the Hogwarts legacy theme for a review video is a nice touch
I got that can't wait to build it
I’m excited for this new system as I missed out on the other castle sets, now I have another chance at collecting them all and making a large Hogwarts castle
I love this set and the review ❤ I agree that there should be 2 portraits included though, and maybe an obscure student/unnamed character would have completed the set
I really think they could have done it better. Quick thought : "windows are quite tall for the owl (sounds good...), they could have make them shorter and put another range, the building will even look taller.
Im definately gonna buy it!
They nailed cho chang. Clearly better than the previous version
Now it is no longer the same three students in every set. I'm guessing Cho Chang will now regularly appear in the sets.
36cm tall?? That's taller than the 2020 Lego Star Wars AT-AT. Wow. I do love tall, vertical buildings so i might just consider getting this one
its funny cuz Harry et Cho is Owlery in the 5th book, where is also Filch included. But here its obviously reference to the 4th movie where filch wasn't :D i think the fans can take it how they want. some
I can't wait to get this set and the boathouse set. Both look like they will pair nicely with the 2018 Hogwarts sets which I have on display.
due to lack of affordable castle sets im considering getting this to sprinkling in some knights
Holly these new Harry Potter sets are nice but I haven’t bought Harry Potter Lego sets since 2019 but seeing your reviews and other videos still makes me happy and a great review I still wonder what will come later this year for hogwarts
The funny thing about this set is that it can be seen as snowy, or it's owl poop. Either way, it looks fantastic.
It's a pretty cool set. The inclusion of Filch is definitely based on the book.
you think we will get more parts from the castle, in the summer?
Just bought this one today,
I definitely want this, although I agree that it could’ve used a bit more or a lower price. So far, so good on the newest iteration of Hogwarts!
I expect it will be worth waiting for this to go on sale. I like what I see though.
i was thinking if i should buy it or not. i bought the Boathouse instrad, but i think i will get this one as well, cuz having Cho and Filch is a must!
I’m excited for these but my focus is collecting the 2001/2002 first
@holly it's obviously too early to say, but how would you speculate this Hogwarts would compare to the 2 previous models?
Contemplating diving in the Hogwarts pool, but they're all big financial & space commitments so want to be sure first 🏰
I’m guessing it will be similar to the 2018 one in that each set will represent a specific section of the castle whether that be a tower or courtyard and continue with having detailed and accurate exteriors.
I can see the interiors being a bit more fleshed out in some of the larger sets too. I can’t see them making small sections that can be combined again, but if they do more Deathly Hallows P2 castles, I hope they do small modular bits within the build like the Battle for Hogwarts had as it worked perfectly for the context.
Space wise I can see it being easier than the last system since I’m thinking it could take up less space depth wise, but I can also see it going in for a long time and being close if not more than the microscale castle in terms of cost
Really wish it was taller, as it stands it's barely bigger than the owl post build from 76422, and the same 4 studs for owls. It could have been a great opportunity to give us somewhere to display all those owls from different sets. I've half a mind to get two of these to add more floors and owls, especially as it's not supposed to be connected to other castle modules anyway... or is it? That clip holding the tree in place looks pretty suspicious to me.
Whether it's worth investing in isn't my problem, it's space. At this point I'd need a whole new room just for harry potter lego :p
I’m glad my gut feeling was right and that I got rid of majority of the modular system. This style is WAY more my taste
wow!!!😮😮😮
To be honest, I’m going to buy this years new Hogwarts castle system/layout since I don’t have a Hogwarts castle but I really hope it’s worth it. Lego also has been repeating the expansion sets but it’s improving little by little. Also I can’t wait to order some of the other Harry Potter sets for the march 1st release.
One to get when reduce not day 1
I saw the new sets in the shop earlier today. I'm keeping an open mind on some of them, not the Ford Anglia and probably not the forbidden forest but I am considering the boat house, it's a decent price, not that usual £45 for barely anything like Sirius' rescue. Hagrid's Hut is tempting too as I missed out on the original as it was overpriced, Hagrid is my favourite character and I only have the version from the Carriage set from 2019, which is his Yule Ball attire, a great set but also probably a bit overpriced. I'll give them marks for actually having a £12/13 set, the only other Harry Potter set at that price was the Aragog one all the way back in 2018.
Nice
In this case, the owls & the building are the stars of the show; however, the mini figures are slim to none!
They were certainly generous with Owls, though it doesn’t quite feel like it was worth the sacrifice. I feel so mixed on it
Understandable, going from one extreme to another was imbalanced in their selection.
Maybe the clip piece holding the tree is also meant to attach other sets?
That's what I think. Either that clip or those things at the top of the tower, although the latter is quite unlikely. Removing the tree wouldn't be unheard of - after all you can remove side builds from the new Hagrid's Hut to combine with the parts of Forbidden Forest. It would be weird if the Owlery indeed turned out to be a standalone build.
Certainly could, I’m excited for more to be revealed to fill in the gaps
Personally I don't really care that much about the minifigures.
So this set brings more than enough of them. In fact, it brings one more than it was needed. However, I would have preferred the set to be taller for the price point. The Owlry is a very tall tower and if this if the size LEGO is going with for it, it makes me concerned about the size of the rest of the Castle going forward. Last thing we need is another horrible squished version of Hogwarts, like the Great Hall from 2018.
Are you positive that is all entirely snow? Lol. I have the original reboot Hogwarts from 2018-20 and I like that this set and the boat house fit well with those sets. I think I'll definitely buy these on a discount to add to those for my display. It remains to be seen though whether I will invest in the larger sections of this new iteration of Hogwarts that seem to be coming down the road.
I feel like all the set prices have recieved a price increase. I'm not surprised as prices on everything are rising. Unfortunately I feel like we are just going to have to live with the higher prices if we want to keep collecting.
They should have included Fred and George, with a letter to mr. Bagman about getting their money
Needs more owls.
What’s the music in the background? It’s driving me mad trying to place it.
Sounded like the Hogwarts Legacy soundtrack to me
Bingo
Thanks! Sanity returns.
Don’t you think the owls count as “minifig” equivalent and were sprinkled in as the main characters of the set?
To me, no. However I do value the inclusion of animals quite a bit especially if it’s a new version, type or large mould. But I think you’re right, it seems to be how Lego used them so that it could make up a bit for the loss for figures
I picked up 2 discounted Harry Potter sets today, I feel like I got a pretty good deal. What do you think?
76416 Quidditch Trunk for 21,90€
76415 Battle of Hogwarts for 39,60€
Ooo dang you did well!! I haven’t been able to find the trunk cheap enough here which I find really surprising
@@HollyOnFilm Usually, we don't get big price cuts in the regular toy stores and supermarkets, only on Amazon. But it was different yesterday. Besides that, the day also blessed me with the Mandalorian vs TIE Interceptor set for 50€, and a hilarious anecdote concerning the discounted Quidditch Trunk:
there was a sticker on the box saying "50€ instead of 70", then the actual price sign on the shelf said "40€" and at the checkout, when the cashier scanned it, the computer said "30€". On top of all that, I had a coupon for a further discount on Lego products so I ended up paying 21,90 for the set. 😂
0:02 how could it take 24 years if the movie the set is based on came out in 2005?
$59 at Kmart Aus
Pretty good set
Should be $35
Oh it’s snow! I genuinely thought it was something else 😂🤦🏻
😂
They should have made the bathhouse also winter themed.
Well the boathouse was I think based off of a different scene that didn't take place during Winter like the scene in this set. I don't think that new arrivals come to Hogwarts during Winter time.
@@TheFirstCurse1 yes, but as both sets are part of the NEW castle... 🤷♂️
@@adrianprepelita8683 I highly doubt that the entire castle will be Winter themed. It'd be a cool modification to make yourself though if you have the pieces.
Im ready for someone to leak the durmstrang ship
I'm so excited for that set
Wait it’s snow? I thought it was bird poop…
I dont think i'll get any of the new sets because last year i bought the 500$ hogwarts castle
When you realise the white on the inside isnt representing snow... its representing Owl poo...
Are all the white elements snow, or are they meant to be owl poop?
A couple could certainly be poop on the inside, but the outside wise I’m certainly saying snow
@@HollyOnFilm Fair enough. The snow effect is certainly a nicer thought and finish method 😂
Harry Potter sets used to be fairly priced. guess not anymore
I stopped collecting HP in 2021. I bought that summer wave, but I stopped collecting because there were so many remakes and it made me mad. They should’ve just continued the 2018 style castle. I’m still confused why they changed the system.
I didn't like the color of the roof.
It’s very interesting to see them go back and continue that style in way, even though it’s not exact, it’s very similar. I wonder just how much sales or feedback shifted with the green roof versions.
@@HollyOnFilm I got a few of the green roof ones which I actually liked the thought of having green roofs however I purchased all of the 2018 style. It will be interesting to see how much of the castle they cover in the new line up because there's still plenty of stuff they could do.
❤❤❤❤😂ja
Is it really so bad that the Filch figure has no leg? I would say the average Lego collector is simply too spoiled
For the price point of the set, to me yes, especially since the piece exists as it makes it a downgrade. If this set was cheaper, it would be a different story because the value for money would be better despite the downgrade
@@HollyOnFilmI agree. If your going to include a figure in a newer set it should come with every important detail that was included on the last. After all if rumours about Captain Rexs Y wing are true then we could be seeing a figure from a very expensive set being almost exactly the same as something included in a much cheaper set as it should be. There's no reason for them not too.
I'm right, you're too spoiled
I’ve been a sun for a few years now and it’s been bugging me the the whole time. Whats going on with your lips, were they sore? Pls reply.
Snow? I thought it was owl poop.
