This actually gives me hope that Hotel Dusk/Last Window will get a remake too. Those two games were some of my first DS games and I love them!

@@phantomxero1x447 Cing's entire mystery adventure line has been lost to time, so it's so refreshing to see at least ONE of them make a return. Hotel Dusk/Last Window, Trace Memory and Again were all amazing games. Again deserved a sequel for sure. I kind of hope we'll see a port or remake of them for the Switch.
I played Trace Memory on DS but I never knew it got a sequel.
The subtitle “Recollection” fits so well. Not only it’s related to memory, but also fits because it’s a collection.

Nintendo always release some good remakes especially games that are originally Japan-exclusive (Famicom Detective Club) finally hitting the worldwide market.
I am obsessed about this game, I have the original copy and play it once every year, I do like a speed run to the good ending and it always messes with my heart and I always keep hoping Daniel didn't die 😭😭😭 I can't get over this game
And we're even getting the sequel that never made it to the States as well this time around.
@@123carol321 One problem I have with this remake is that, when I looked the rating of the original games it was 7. However the age rating for the collection is 12. How is that the case if it's a remake???
This has to be the weirdest day of my life. Another Code is back, getting two remakes for the Switch and I couldn't be happier. If there is hope for Another Code I hope we'll see the return of Kyle Hyde someday.

Im obsessed about this game. Honestly. It is so incredibly beautiful. My feelings were crushed and my heart stomped on and I kept wishing Daniel could somehow be alive and date Ashley. I can't seem to get over this wish. I'm so happy the game is being remade
The original Trace Memory was why I bought the DS. Still have the original physical copy of the game. Was bummed out the sequel didn’t come to the States. Do *hope* the remake has physical copies.
Seeing as the original developers of the games went under several years ago I was convinced I had seen the last of these characters. I look forward to reconnecting with Ashley after all these years.
Dude same! Loved everything about this trailer incl the graphics and the voice acting (perfect voice for Ashley), so I’m hoping the games will sell well this time around and result in a sequel.
While CING was the developer of these games (another code, hotel dusk, etc), Nintendo owns the rights to all of the titles, so all they need to do is find new developers to direct these games.

@@Dash120z Was there supposed to be a third one? I only played the original since the second never came to NA. If there was a third game planned that got cancelled that'll be sad. But if this collection sells well, who knows. I'm already shocked at the effort they put into this remake. I didn't even expect it to ever get remastered.
This was the highlight for me. I never thought in a hundred years we'd get a 3D remake of this game. I remember completing it on DS and I still own the cart. So exciting!
I really loved Trace Memory, and I was very disappointed that Another Code: R never made it to the USA. I'm super excited to see that both games are getting the remaster treatment, and finally heading to North America. I never expected this to happen in a million years, but this news has made my day.

@@michaelcalvin42 Damn. You guys missed a good game. Well, the TV spots for AC (I guess, that is the EU name?) and the other game called "Hotel Dusk" with the detective did it's thing here for the success. I always thought the game would be more famous in the US, because of their "US-setting".
@@Sypaka Unfortunately, I think it was a somewhat niche game here. But judging from the UA-cam comments, it seems it definitely has a cult following.
Another Code was also the original Japanese name, so I always thought it weird that it got changed to Trace Memory in the US release.
This game was the biggest surprise of the Direct for me, glad to see a DS gem being remade for Switch! Now if only Kyle Hyde could be brought back somehow...
Get the physical copy, friends - the box art is gorgeous. And please Nintendo for the love of god, make this same treatment for Hotel Dusk and Last Window. I would LOVE those released again.

Biggest surprise of the direct. Even more surprising is that it's a full on remake rather than a port. God I hope this gets the Kyle Hyde games at the very least ported.

This was the biggest surprise in the Direct, and the most welcome one. I was obsessed with this game and actually got a new copy of it a few months ago and started replaying it. I'm really happy to see it getting love again.
This is one of my all-time favorite visual novel games by Cing. I'm so happy this game, and the sequel are being released on the switch.

The first DS game I ever got after buying the DS. Normally, I'm not a visual novel game person, but this was the first one I played, and for more than once even. Most VN games don't have you do things other than view the story or make choices. But Trace Memory allowed for far more interactions, wish more VN games were like TM.

Hopefully if this is successful then there will come out a new hotel dusk game or a remake. If Nintendo does that game too I will be extremely happy and will buy two copies.
@@123carol321 Since we, those of us in the States, never got to play the sequel, I already preordered the collection, so playing the remake is already on my to do list.
But seriously, why are most VN nothing like Trace Memory or the Ace Attorney series? Having things to do, is more fun than just reading the VN along with making a few choices. Wish VNs were more like TM and PWAA games.

Absolute same and I also like zelda!! Are you me? 😂 I cannot get over this game. I simply can't. I grew up, I went to uni , I have a good job, good partner, great life and still could cry just thinking of Daniel. I still play the game every single year to get the good ending and just to listen to the soundtracks. This to me is just such wonderful news
It was the first DS game I bought for the system, and one of the few I played more than once.
I'm surprised Nintendo even remembers that Another Code exists, let alone doing a remake of both games.
I suppose it was good enough to get a trophy in Smash Brawl, and a spirit in Smash Ultimate, but still.
Just goes to show that nothing is ever impossible if the stars align.

Absolutely blown away by this! I was totally convinced that this series was left to rot after cing sadly went out of business years ago. I actually played the second game years before the first and have some of the fondest memories of it. This franchise getting even the slightest hint of recognition given its niche standing seemed like a fantasy, let alone getting a remake. I thought that a third game seeing the light of day appeared impossible, but this gives me hope. Even if it doesn’t, the fact that this franchise is getting this level of attention all these years later is just an absolute treat for myself and others who’ve enjoyed it.
Edit: Also, Hotel Dusk 100% deserves a revival as well!
I was fully convinced I was one of very few people in the world who deeply cared and appreciated this game. I'm beyond happy it isn't like that. So many people got to experience another code it seems like and we all fell in love ❤ it's my favourite game ever. Story, art, soundtrack. I'll never get over it

On 2005 this game was innovated as heck and while people were on the 360 and ps3 being wowed with graphics u felt in a league of ur own as a kid playing this games mechanics ans features. Sheesh nintendo really making sure we eat well on the switch

I'm so glad that we are getting Another Code. Is it possible that we could also get Hotel Dusk: Room 215 and Last Window: The Secret of Cape West? Hotel Dusk is on the Nintendo DS and it came out in 2007 so that game is pretty much stuck on the console. Kyle Hyde was featured in Super Smash Bros Ultimate, and a lot of people wondered where he came from. So yeah, if you could please work with Cing, Nintendo and try to get Hotel Dusk and Cape West on the Switch, that would be awesome!
Cing went bankrupt 14 years ago. I wonder who is doing this remake.

Huge fan of Cing's Hotel Dusk/Last Window games, decided to pick up and play Trace Memory for the first time today, and gotta say that I'm extremely excited for this remake.
Honestly it's heartbreaking that Cing went out of business so early. Last Window is without a doubt one of my favorite games of all time. So I'm hoping that this Another Code remake gets some buzz so that Nintendo will hopefully give more of Cing's properties a chance, and hopefully give Taisuke Kanasaki, Rika Sazuki, and Keisuke Sakamoto more chances to shine and show their incredible talent to the world..

I've never played Trace Memory/Another Code, though the fact that it's getting a remake reminds me of when Nintendo remade the Famicom Detective Club games. I love it when Nintendo brings back these obscure games they made/published, and I hope they continue to do so.

This was the game that convinced me to get a DS. So happy that this is getting a full 3D remake.
It's great to see this series getting a second chance. I actually think this could be one of those rare IPs that might be appreciated more in the current gaming climate and will get a closer look by more players now than with its original release. I personally never got the opportunity to play the original Trace Memory on the DS, so I'm very much looking forward to correcting this with the upcoming collection.

I was scrolling to see if anyone else remembered this from Nintendo Power. I never played the game, but seeing this trailer brought back such strong memories of seeing it in NP and wanting to play it. Now maybe I finally will.
Definitely one of my favorite series, can't wait to replay it! Hopefully this also means there's a chance for a Hotel Dusk collection.

I am so excited for this. I loved the DS game and imported the Wii Sequel that never got released in the US. A touching and fun collection with some excellent music. I HOPE IT GETS A PHYSICAL COLLECTION!

*Someone* said it *would* get physical, *but* I highly *doubt* that claim. My reason for my doubt is as follows, when a game shows eShop logo at the end of the trailer, it's always digital only, and this did have that logo at the end. For physical releases, only the Switch logo is shown.
Ashley!! 😭💕💕💕 After so many years! Ashley Mizuki Robbins was my very first video game crush when I was a kid, and it was during times that were really tough and challenging. I felt relieved when I played the game and saw her, and I'm so happy to be reunited with the series after so long. Definitely buying this!!

This remake looks amazing, but I would still recommend you go back and pick up the DS version for its cozy atmosphere and beautiful pre-rendered backgrounds. Also the character portraits look stunning and are super expressive.

I love the original back in the DS era! I never thought these games would be back to life considering the developers went bankrupt sadly
This was the first game I played on my dad's DS as a kid! He introduced me to the game, and I finally finished it when I was twelve. I just saw this in the Switch Store, and recognized the artwork but didn't know it went by this name. I couldn't contain my joy! It had such an impact on me growing up, suffice it to say I love ghost stories because of it! I'm over the moon seeing this trailer, hearing the music, and seeing Ashley again!
I will buy it day one. I would buy a Hotel Dusk remake day one. I would buy sequels to either. I would buy a new adventure game IP if you released one. I bought Famicom Detective Club day one and loved it. Please keep making and releasing games like these nintendo, I love them so much.

Although now I'm super curious what they're going to do about the ending for Another Code: R. If I remember right, wasn't there some controversy over how rushed the ending was, and it turned out the developers had to wrap the game up quicker than intended and cut out the planned ending? Wonder if we'll finally get the 'real' ending all these years later.... never thought I'd be saying that!

I loved these mystery puzzle type games for the Nintendo Ds. I was hoping Nintendo or other companies would release these and more of these type of games.

Last Window wasn’t exclusive in Japan my dude. Europe got it, and the DS is regionfree. So you can play it right now in English if you haven’t.
@@PikaLink91 what's Last window? I think they're talking about the wii sequel, Another Code Journey of Lost memories". Which is not region free and if you try to play europe games on an american wii it will have weird framerate issues. though dolphin does fix that.

The company was going bankrupt so they released it for Europe instead of the US. It happened with trace of memory wii game and hotel dusk journey to cape west. I’m so excited for this. I have the wii game on an emulator but it won’t run sadly.

This is one of the games I didn‘t expect appearing on a direct. This is like a dream coming true! Once in a while I‘m listening to their soundtracks and reminisce nostalgically about the fun times I had with it. Now I finally get the chance to play it again!
