I lost my father in December. Not a single day has not passed that I haven’t made dua for his forgiveness and for him to be given Al Firdous. May Allah give us all a good ending and only take us when he is pleased with us ☝🏻
It’s a sign he was a righteous person who left behind a righteous child making constant dua for him. May Allah swt accept your dua and grant him jannatul firdaus . Ameen

As a doctor, this episode just hit me on another level, although i have seen multiple patients pass away, i particularly remember being posted in surgical icu in November, and one of the patient, who was suffering from acute necrotizing pancreatitis had developed comparment syndrome, despite vent,his sats were dropping... throughout that day, his son was sitting on his bedside with surah rahman on repeat.. we had to activate code blue 3 times before he finally lost the battle of life. There was a peculiar sense of calmness around this episode. Was it surah rahman, the angels? Can pin point, but What shook me after watching this? Why didn't I realise there were angels surrounding that patient when it was time to go, while we were discussing the causes of compartment syndrome, why did I not internalise death or the fact that I'll go like this too.
Probably because medical schools these days are designed to teach future doctors to detach, to not get too emotional or affected but the Islamic view is more of balance, everyone is human and it’s good for death to affect you in some way (not to the point of being unable to function) because it improves the way you will live or in the case of doctors like yourself, to strive to be better one everyday
May Allah not cause our constant seeing if death be a means of detachment from the reality of life!
I am from Mali and this Ramadan has been a trying period for us. On top of the conflict leaving thousands people displaced or dead, there are never seen before waves of heat (almost 50 Degrees celsius ) in some areas and with that, the death toll rising. Hospitals’ mortuaries are over capacity, some can welcome 100 dead people per day. Most of them are children and old people who died because of the heat (they stop breathing at night….).
Please, include all the ummah in your prayers. Some do suffers more than others but all lives are equal to Allah!
May Allah grant them all as well as our deceased ones Jannah! May him facilitate a good ending to all of us. Ameen 🤲🏿

Always ask allah for forgiveness and take matters into your own hands - if you say Subhanallahi wa bihamdihi, Subhanallahil adheem x100 a day, all your sins will be forgiven even if it was like the foam of the sea (and you plant a palm tree for each time you say it!). And say Alhamdulliah because Allah wanted you to see this comment out of the billions of people on this world. Inshallah I will invite you all to my garden in jannah to meet you all ❤😊

Lately, I have been contemplating about death, what it means in Islam, and how to cope with its reality, and this series is answering most, if not all my concerns. This is reminding me of my loving Amma’s death. I remember she wanted to do tayammum. Later that night she became unconscious and was unconscious for a long time before she passed away. These memories are haunting me all the time. It’s really extremely difficult to see your loved one pass away.

Dear Sir, thank you for this. I've been struggling with the passing of my mum from colon cancer. At the moment of her last breath, I was still in denial. Instead of guiding her with shahadah, I only managed to smile,thinking, hoping, she was going to be alright. It was and has been the biggest regret of my life. In your short sharing, it was as if you spoke to me and assured me, she left us in a good way. Allah truly loves her more. Jazakkallah khair, kind Sir. This world truly needs more like you.

I lost my mother on the day of Eid 10th of April 2024.She slumped in the mosque after prayers. She became conscious so I took her to the hospital but unfortunately she died within 30 minutes in the doctors’ care. I am happy her last act on earth was prayer. Just before going to sleep I had a strong feeling that my beloved father was going to die that night. I even cried thinking that it was just my fear of not having him in my life anymore. But in that same night, my father passed away between my hands.

My nanny went into a coma, then woke up and prayed and said she needed rest and passed away....
She was the one who got me into prayer actually. Watching scolding my mum for not praying fajr as woke in middle of the night when I was 9, I said I am awake, I will pray, my mum told me off for showing her up, I would pray and then went back to sleep... my mum usually prayed but now again fajr she would get lazy. But my nanny did not learn to read Quran as she was from a poor village and they did not focus I am guessing on her but she was determined to make sure her children learnt Quran and prayed etc...
