Wow seems like a lot going on, with some really bad and some good blessings along the way. Blessings that Brit was able spend so much time with her day for the last year not having to worry about working through those times. Another blessing it sounds like Mike got his childhood dream job(even though he won’t share where) lol

Wow. Thanks for sharing. Last May, we moved to be a part of a church, and I left a CFO position to help plant a small business in the new area we were moving. That small business didn't work out, and i was fortunate to find a remote accounting job that has paid the bills and allowed us to breakeven every month. However, the owner of the firm is merging with another firm. When I went to interview, I felt like this wasn't it, so I rejected the job offer. We have plenty to live on, but I feel like something bigger is around the corner; and strangely, it isn't another 9-5. So we will see! Since leaving the actual 9-5, I have experienced more freedom and clarity than I ever have in my life. the story sounds crazy on paper, but I'm also leaving out how much God has done for us through all of that. Keep going on!
@@MikeandBrit I know, it's the only reason I commented haha! The place I was at was great. Phenomenal boss, great work environment, great coworkers. Extremely nice compensation too. It was just one of those things where I asked God to confirm 3 huge signs, and then He did and i was like well, here we go Lord haha! I've also been thinking of various businesses over the past few years, and with each one, I have felt like the Lord said no, that's not it. Just keep waiting on me. So in the future, i'll respond when it does happen! haha

The first video I watched was Truth Regarding Debt and gave me even more inspiration to also be debt-free. I see obstacles in life as signs you're on the right path so please stay strong

I am 23 so my goals are a bit different from yours as I am still trying to move out haha but I also had a year where I ended up where I was a year ago. I left my job in March for another job with the government and learned I am not meant to be a government employee and my dream is to really go into the entertainment industry or stay in my current industry. I ended up returning to my exact old job at the end of the year after like 3 months out of work since I decided to quit one random day (oops) and now I am kind of back at the start hoping to move up but now I am kind of the junior again lol/have to rebuild relationships. I feel like 2024 should be a good building year for a great 2025 though lol.

I have been wondering how things are with you guys. Very sorry for your loss. I understand what you are saying about "not being yourself" Mike. I am older than you and I recently came to realize this about myself. I'm coming out of that mindset and it is so freeing! I was very inspired when you said something to the effect "the more security, the less freedom". Again, I am just now discovering this and just didn't know how to verbalize it! I quit my job this week after being so afraid to trust and let go for the last two miserable years. Again, I am a little scared but, I feel so free! God bless you guys. I hope you put out more videos going forward.

Mike often has profound things going on internally that he struggles to communicate, and will seek out people who are further along then he is, who have already figured out what he's experiencing and can communicate it, so he can hear it and be able to communicate it himself. @@MikeandBrit Gotcha. I really like how you differentiate between debt free and fiscally free. One seems to reasonably be a step towards the other. Of course some might argue that to be fiscally free to the point of being wealthy one would eventually start using OPM (Other peoples money) in the form of debt. I differentiate between personal debt (cc, home mortgage, student loans, etc.) and business/asset debt (cash flowing RE mortgages, business loans, VC investments, etc.).
Absolutely zero reason to be "embarrassed." Dont be so hard on yourselves. You're exactly where you're supposed to be.

Technically no, but we didn't have a mortgage to pay off either. We had been renting.

Nope! We try our best to eat healthy though😅
