- Here is a halloween special orchestration I created of the Cap Kingdom: Bonneton theme from Super Mario Odyssey. This theme is absolutely amazing, so I had to recreate it. It was a lot of work but here is how it turned out!
Original Composers : Naoto Kubo, Koji Kondo, Shijo Fuji - Nintendo EAD
Big thanks to DazzaBound for the intro GFX:
/ dazzabound
Software and libraries used:

Thank you all so much for the amazing support as always!! Much love!
ClefferNotes, I really enjoy the tune of this song! Really Catchy!
Howdy! I've been trying to contact you to request the use of some of your songs in a project I'm working on, however I couldn't find any contact information other than simply using UA-cam's PM system. Is there a preferred way of contacting you?
ClefferNotes Can you write them down, I really want to play it!
we all know it Caroline music ;p
ClefferNotes You really should have tried the Ice theme. That one is just fantastic!
Ayy, sounds awesome!
Song reminds me of Harry Potter, kingdom reminds me of Nightmare Before Christmas. What could possibly go wrong?
Kawaii Pyromancer Definitely not Harry, it's Burton inspired.
The music reminds me of Harry Potter. Bloody hell!
TonyKanameKuran lol, everyone says that xD
You mean Tim Burton movies you fucking idiot
j hrk They meant what they said, get over it please.
IKR
Reminds me a lot of Home Alone actually haha
Man, if any of my plans to make a game eventually come to reality, you are DEFINITELY hired to do the soundtrack. Fantastic work as always!
Love this theme. I can't be the only one who gets some serious Danny Elfman vibes from it.
Awesome work with this cover.
Thanks very much! Without a doubt it has so many Elfman vibes, such an amazing theme!! :)
ClefferNotes For sure, absolutely sounds like Elfman's work on Tim Burton's films.
Thank you! Finally someone who realizes this doesn't sound anything like "Harry Potter" this is clearly Tim Burton films inspired.
@@jhrk4279 Right! So tired of seeing "tHiS sOunDs LiKe hArRy PoTtER"
@Jacob Cole Hahahaha sure
I wondered how long it would take you to do Odyssey covers ;) Fantastic as always Chris!
Ahah! Not very long! Thanks dude! :D
Danny Elfman + Tchaikowski + Creative talent --> pure awesomeness
With a hint of Grant Kirkhope
It's 1am for me right now
I could ligit sleep to this song
Dabestjoshy that’s either a compliment or an insult lol
This song has been stuck in my head since I first heard it. Your rendition is very good!
Ahh me too!! Thanks very much! :)
The music I'd expect to here in Charms class at Hogwarts. Amazing work as usual!!
MarioOnage64 This music is clearly an inspiration from many Tim Burton films. Stop being a sheep.
Can you just fuck off and let people say what they want to say?
@@titaniumstarrui Nah, it's a little annoying when the inspiring artist gets no credit.
Calling people a sheep because people want to praise the artist who made the video is a bit too far. Sure it's the """"Inspiration"""" behind it but that's not the main artist who made this video regardless.
It's also annoying when this guy decides to call everyone a sheep because they compare it to Harry Potter, which is a valid comparison. "No it's Tim Burton you sheep" people can make comparisons to whatever they like lmao, one comparison doesn't devalue another.
@@titaniumstarrui You're throwing the "sheep" argument at the wrong guy. I'm not the one who said it, merely pointing out that it's annoying when the OBVIOUS inspiration gets no credit and instead, someone goes "oMg iT LiKe hARry PoTTeR," when it bears no resemblance at all besides the xylophone. I mean but it was a good attempt I guess?
You need to be signed with someone!
I feel like I'm in Hogwarts. This is beyond beautiful dude
Vic the Nobody Thanks so much buddy! :)
Vic the Nobody It feels more like a Tim Burton film. You are probably too much of a sheep though to know who he is.
I love the song and your rendition of it!! Seriously, this is such high quality craftsmanship! I can't even begin to describe how amazing your cover is!
Thanks so much my friend! :)
THIS IS PERFECTION! 1:50 GIVES ME THE CHILLS!
You successfully made sample libraries sound 1:1 to a live orchestra.
You are amazing!
A mix between Halloween and Christmas. Perfect for mid-November.
This is a gem of 2017 youtube
Man this is incredible! Looks more like a Tim Burtom movie soundtrack
Please do cascade kingdom!
Shy Guy I second this
I agree with that I love the cascade theme
I don't know what it is about this that keeps drawing me back, but it's just amazing. Bravo!
danny elfman would be proud lol love this track
WHAT IS THIS!?!?!? I LOVE IT FOR GODS SAKE!!!!!
Can't tell which I like more: original or yours. I think I'm leaning yours, feels a bit more full
Absolutely love it! It feels whimsical and also has that spooky vibe! Which is perfect since today is Halloween
Definitely 1/10 would not recommend. This is trash without the dancing mouse cursor. All jokes aside, fantastic work as always dude!
Untold Stories Productions Hahaha! Thanks so much man!! :)
this is the place where all of us Nintendo fans met the cool looking ghost top hat 'Cappy'
besides from that, amazing work you've put into this
I am actually in love with this!
Odyssey tracks?
I didn't know you could read my mind.
Phenomenal, great work
Once again I'm amazed at how something that already sounded like your work.. you found a way to make it MORE... like it is already.
Another wonderful job!
As soon as I heard this song, I was sure you'd do a cover of it :) Fantastic rendition as usual!
Dude this suits your style perfectly!!!
This game is SO GOOD!!! Also, nice work on the cover!
This is a perfect cover.
Love it!
this should be a Halloween Theme of cap kingdom
Oooooh! I really like this!
This is incredible! I think I might like it better than the original, slightly!
Had to listen to this again since Halloween is just around the corner
Amazing.
IT'S AMAZING!
Wowww. This sounds so godly, it feels so right! Nintende should hire you to make covers and then use that music for in the games!
Almost Sounds Just Like The Game! Excellent!
DUDE IT SOUNDS JUST LIKE THE REAL THING THATS SO COOL
Just like grafity falls
i love your new intro
Forest Kingdom needs a Cover. I love that music!
Holy shit, it really sounds just like the original! Very nice!
Oh... my goodness.... one of the rare videos with NO dislikes.... freaking awesome.
yeah, i agree with Harry Potter, Nightmare before Christmas, and in some parts, Home Alone. great work!
Awesome keep up the good work:)
*I WAS JUST WONDERING THAT CLEFFER SHOULD MAKE THIS!!! AND HE DID!!!!*
Awesome song :D
At 0:46 it really reminds me Alice in Wonderland from Tim Burton. The choirs, the victorian vibes, the clock sound,.. it's amazing!
just as good as the original, honestly. your rendition isnt bad at all, it's just that you can't beat fire with fire, so to speak.
excellent work, sounds better than the og
Almost no freaking difference... I can't...
But, I said almost. The thing that made me realize that you really did not just upload the original is at 1:56 since you made that part even better! As always: You. Are. Brilliant.
Love it ^^ just like the game ^^
Nice
This is surprisingly better than the original!
Yessss!!!!!!!!!!!!
MY EARS ARE IN HEAVEN
i'm making a cover rn too just for fun
this was impressive as far as accuracy goes
nice!
I haven't played the game yet, but your version sounds amazing ! I feel like I'm gonna be disappointed by the original version ^^'
You deserve more views and subs
The music in this game is excellent. New Donk City is the best one for me so far!
👌😏👌 no dislike
Lol people who are saying "This sounds like Harry Potter" have usually only every heard one song featuring a high pitched xylophone, and that's the Harry Potter theme. Although I can't blame them, I'm here to let everyone know: An instrument does not make a song sound like another. The style of play and progression of notes does. This is definitely a mix between Tim Burton's style and Banjo Kazooie's chord progression.
@Jacob Cole Aaaaand you think the composer for the movies worked for the games?
Lol
Whether you admit it or not, it's clear the vibes are Elfman inspired, and only morons who've only heard a celesta in Harry Potter think it's got HP vibes.
Oh, and nobody means the games anyway. They're clearly talking about the movies.
@Jacob Still doesn't change the fact that nobody but you in referring to the games. Changing the goalposts to make something TECHNICALLY true doesn't mean it represents their opinion at all. Basic reasoning.
@Jacob Boi quit deleting your comments. Grow a pair and commit to a discussion or stop coming back every 3 days and annoying my notification feed.
Why was my notification for this „bonneton“? 🤔
Anyways, good job with this! Didn’t take long until you made an Oddysey cover, huh?
Hey, ClefferNotes, I've had an idea : What if you remade, just like for Zelda BotW, the music of the trailer of a Series of Unfortunate Events Season 2 ? The orchestral one that is in the first trailer, you know, the epic one. Great music you made, by the way !
😳 ! Please
That's so great as always. Like of youre agree.
Toad burton

where’s fossil falls
Will you be doing other tracks from Mario Odyssey as well?! I’d love to hear renditions of some
Hi Cleffernotes, when you want to make an arrangement for a song, do you listen carefully to each line (melody, countermelody, ostinatos, bass line, etc) with the track as a whole, or do you use an equalizer to drop out some parts to find the notes for the lines?
Rojoinc Hey Rojoinc,! it depends on the track, I normally have a few listens and then think what part of each track would suit certain type of instruments, if I am unable to do a like for like orchestration due to limitations in samples, I tend to make my own instrumentation choices and arrange things best for the samples. Hope that helps :)
Sounds like something that would be in the corpse bride
i get a tiny vibe from the nightmare before christmas
Do you still make compositions like these? Because I miss them appearing on my subscription tab
Hmmm If you read this, could you do The Cascade Kingdom or Wooded Kingdom? Please?
0:13
Can I hug you please.
Oh yes, do you have any recommendations for a composer like me who doesnt want to spend all that money on Kontakt and Spitfire Albion etc?
Hey there, sure!!
I would definitely have a look at what EastWest is offering, they offer a monthly based subscription service for their libraries so it it works out a lot cheaper than buying numerous libraries. Though I don't really have a personal experience with them but I have heard nothing but good things about their libraries :)
Thanks for the info! Ive sent you a few private notes from my music channel MashiNotes with some more questions if youre interested in helping me out even more xD
There’s a reason why a subscribed to this channel.
*points at video*
This is why.
Thank you very much!! :)
Tutututututu
The Cap Kingdom theme gives me serious Fable vibes.
Blackbaldrik Fable 2 is what came to my mind
Freaking awesome
Blackbaldrik Tim Burton film vibes.
Fable 2's music box theme was written by Danny Elfman whose style this song was inspired by, so you're not wrong!
@@jhrk4279 ^^^
Pianos and flutes were used
You know, this is impressive that you were able to do this, and you are clearly talented, but isn’t this song already orchestral? Like I understand covering a song from the thousand year door, but Odyssey’s soundtrack was recorded by a live orchestra to begin with. Was this nothing more than an exercise? I mean, it doesn’t sound bad, it’s just somewhat indistinct to the original song.
randomness928 Hey there, thanks very much! You have a very good point! I made this orchestration due to numerous requests when the game was released, plus I thought it would be a good time to practise using my new samples and know their strengths and weaknesses.
I am thankful I had the opportunity to be able to practise with my new tools as it has helped me massively in my career :)
Thanks for the comment! 👍
Well, they proved that even if the real one is already orchestral, they made a better one. That's good job
Are UA-camrs allowed to use your music for Videos? Of course with giving credits in the Video description :D
Hey there, you are more than welcome to use the tracks on this channel! Thank you for asking beforehand :)
@@ClefferNotes 👍✌️🤝
0:46 danny elfman ?
Thank goodness no dislikes
The orchestration works perfectly!
Would it be possible for you to give me feedback on my only two remixes? I'm aspiring to become a remixer on YT and I would love any feedback!
Is this all digital?
Hey there, yep all created with virtual instruments :)
ClefferNotes that's amazing
CAN you Make Your Music more higher
It reminds me Nightmare before Christmas 🤔
Ana Miranda Most definitely inspired by Tim Burton films I would say.
Mario and Harry potter
Anybody else getting Epic Mickey vibes?
ToriToons 99 Nope, just Tim Burton vibes
Harry Potter and the Odyssey
Mega Mii You mean Tim Burton films...moron
j hrk Harry Potter is not secretly Tim Burton, moron...
Or.... IS HE?!?!?!?!?!?!?
DUN DUN *DUUUUUUN*
@@Nekrozmik While he should probably stop going around calling people morons like a jackass, he has a point. This music sounds nothing like the Harry Potter soundtrack except for the fact that both of them use a high pitched xylophone. The music is most definitely inspired by Tim Burton, and bears no resemblance to the HP score.
Negativities for something tone 2
