    Compressors going backwards. Typical call when these units are installed the units in the winter and now they dont cool. The blower motor will always spin in the correct direction because it is on a drive. On the ecoblue the drive is built into the blower motor. Old school way is check blower rotation for proper phasing. You cannot do that anymore with any Carrier unit. You must phase them in by checking compressor operation to make sure your low side drops and high side goes up. The high voltage on that unit is done properly. The third leg does attach to the blue on that block. Another thing to check is a setting in the Belimo Zip control. Go to settings then scroll to high limit modification. Enter that parameter until you see temperature. That is the changeover temp between mechanical and free cooling. It defaults to 75 degrees. Change it to 55. Love your vids.

    You should test polarity by opening the indoor blower section and bumping the contactor to see if the motor is going in the right direction. Some meters have a phase testing function like the Fieldpiece SC-480.

    Ouch poor compressors I hope they're OK

    Interesting case)). Yeah, maybe the polarity is wrong. Since they newer use it as A/C, only as gas heat the problem appears only now. I usually put a wet rug on the compressor head, disconnect the compressor and run the fan to save time on return. Please tell me more about that orange controller.

      Wet rag and run the fan to cool the compressor back down? Lol I always just wait like a dummy 🤦‍♂️

      Belimo (if it is the same company) has made electronic/electric control motors for a very long time. Used to make good stuff. I don't know if they got bought out or not.

      That is a Belimo brand economizer controller. The easiest out there to set up. They are, in my opinion the top of the heap. Next would be the Honeywell Jade. The Belimo, you set your zip code and it configures the enthalpy sensor settings. You can navigate the settings super easily. You can test the system in cooling from the controller.

    Hey I think the wiring is wrong did you figured it out or do you have a recently video

  • @danobrien3109
    @danobrien3109 2 роки тому +6

    Seen this a number of times over the years. Too bad that installers don’t know this about three phase power. Just switch any two wires and problem solved. Would save these type of service trips and maybe save some equipment components. 👍👍🇨🇦

      Still need to check the blower rotation

    • @AmericanFarmerHVAC2024
      @AmericanFarmerHVAC2024 2 роки тому

      @@CharlesAnsman you can't do that with the new units. The VFD corrects the power phasing for correct rotation. Same with the axion fan.

    • @AmericanFarmerHVAC2024
      @AmericanFarmerHVAC2024 10 місяців тому

      @@rwood1995 no, what I meant is you can't just look at the blower rotation and assume the phases are correct because the vfd will always have it corrected for the blower. The only way to know is to test the compressors.

    Carrier is currently flip flopping from the honeywell jade control, back to the old honeywell control that sits on top of the economizer back to blemo 🤷‍♂️

    Love those Belimo Zip economizers. Easy to set up, troubleshoot and test operations......I'd also verify the XFMR is also tapped correctly. Those Carrier RTU'S are very easy to work on and troubleshoot. Not much to them. Those new Axial Vane fans are a trip ( Eco blue )

    Whats the name of the phone case you use? I saw it in your previous rooftop video but I couldn't make out the letters on the case. If it's not an OtterBox, why did you go with that brand? Thanks.

    nice, they don't usually oil as good running backwards, the oil may all leave and not return and obviously no gas/liquid cooling. winter or not, always check them for rotation. ☠
    or better yet, unhook the compressor contactors coils, so they wont even try to run. 😁
