keep in mind in 1968 the tournaments only paid people 1000$ for winning a tournament, it wasn't until the 80s that the money really went up and then it was worth going after a tennis career
My personal favourite seasons: 2008 Novak's first AO, Rafa finally beats Roger at Wimbledon (in one of the best slam finals of all time) 2012 Epic AO final (another all time great final), plus one slam each for "the big four". 2024 the slams shared equally between the two young guns (and worthy successors to the big three) Sinner and Alcaraz.
@NamTran-xc2ip yeah that's Rod Laver season is the greatest ever in the open era. The competition was also very tough. As for both gender combined then it's hard to go past Steffi's golden slam season of 1988.
@@mima167 you can't blame Steffi that Chris defaulted in SF. BTW Steffi was so invincible in those days that Martina & Chris have no chance against her. Sabatini was the only player who had challenge her.
1998-2002 or so, aside from some well deserved victories still seem like the modern dark ages of tennis, and arguably french until 05 many of those years. Also clearly the australian open wasn't always very important until like mid 80s
Merci beaucoup pour ce tableau,,,, comme le temps passe vite,,,, j' ai débuté a aimé le tennis 🎾 en regardant Ivan lendl. They are called ‘Majors’..!! A ‘Grand Siam’ is the achievement of winning all four MAJORS in the same year! Rod Laver was the last man to achieve that feat in 1969, so I find it incredulous to see this term being misused constantly..!!
that's easy to say but honestly, if you gave Rod Laver or Don Budge or Bill Tillder all of the training and equipment that Novak received, they would have been just as dominant
Djokovic, wimbledon 2015-RG 2016.👍🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
Nole AO 25! Lets go!!
Go Nole and his medical timeouts!
BIG4がいかに長く強かったのが分かりますね!スゴすぎる!
For over 15 years was just a 3 man show. Complete legends over everyone else.

Em breve nessa lista... João Fonseca!
Truly the big 3 seperated themselves from the rest in open era in terms of longevity, versality & consistency.
Yes, but the greatest season of all time is 1969

Big 3 have better seasons..
@@rajusaha855the tricky part is Graf didn't have to play Martina or Chris or Hana, and 12th seeded Larisha Savchenko almost beat her in the 4th round

honestly, it wasn't until the Australian Open switched to Hard Courts in 1988 and had a retractable roof that everyone on the tour played it
