Yes, but you will have to login into the Lorex camera change the resolution to 1920 x 1080 before you add it as ONVIF. The NVR will not read it if it is set to 4K, unless your NVR is a 4K NVR

I noticed your camera is a motorized camera. You can use the RTSP string for the video and if it has audio, but you wont be able to control the lens of the camera. It's kinda a waste. But if you want to still try it via RTSP here is the RTSP string for that camera. rtsp://username:password@IP:554/main

I've been trying to add an Amcrest IP5M-B1186EW-28MM to my Hikvision NVR. I've tried everything I'm aware of and have read a few sites where many have not had any luck. I've tried different ports, and protocols, but the camera won't connect. I haven't tried RTSP yet, but I'm trying to avoid it. Any thoughts?
@@siricepick Hmmm weird, then there is no choice but to run RTSP on it. I know that this camera does have ONVIF capabilities and obviously the NVR does as well. Just to confirm that the camera does have ONVIF as well as possibly see which port it is using download this scanner. sourceforge.net/projects/onvifdm/ If it doesnt scan that means it doesnt have ONVIF support or its turned off.

Hello, you cannot put a switch into the PoE swtich. The only way to get multiple cameras from the external PoE switch would be plugging the NVR's Lan into that switch. The PoE switch built in can only support 1 camera per port.
You need to manually assign the camera's IP address for each camera running through the Netgear switch, just make sure none of the cameras on the NVR is not already using the same IP address you plan to assign.

Did you check your RTSP port? What is the model of your camera? Sometimes your camera firmware might be outdated. Let me know the model / firmware version of your camera.

@@sergefontaine3560 This firmware looks like a Hikvision compatible camera but not Hikvision or OEM Hikvision. Tho it will work plug in play with the NVR / potentially IVMS-4200 which opperates differently than 4500, this is the reason why it is not working. Try to change the compression from h.264 or vise versa to h.265. other than that the codec might be different.

Yes this is a problem with the different onvif version on the camera vs the NVR. There is a work around but its not 100%. You can log into the camera directly and turn on motion on the camera itself. Try that it works 70% of the time.
@@securityguru407 It has it and works when recording to an sd card. The hikvision NVR does not detect motion. It is not possible to set anything on the camera in the NVR, only the PTZ control works

Yes as long as the cameras and the NVR supports ONVIF protocol. I would say if the cameras are within 5 years old you should be fine older than that you may have to use RTSP if it has it.

Have you tried the wyze v3 rtsp function?
Yes it works but you need to update the firmware with RTSP compatibility.

GDMSS is for a Dahua DVR or NVR you need to you IVMS-4500 if you have Hikvision or OEM Hikvision

Yes, this should not be a problem. As long as your NVR is onvif compatible which is the generic IP protocol.

It has to be outside the built in PoE. Then you have to custom do custom protocol.

Hi, you just need to scan the cameras with a ONVIF camera scanner get the IP address, then add it into camera management within the NVR.

Did you go to the camera menu and made sure the mode is set to "standalone"? You need to set it on that for the RTSP to work.
Also just to confirm the RTSP url for Ubiquiti is rtsp://xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx:554/s0 . You can test it to make sure that it is working via VLC as well, because you try to get it into the NVR. Let us know the result to help the community in the future. =)

what type of camera are you speaking of? Did you make sure that the IP address is still correct / user name and password?
