I highly recommend everyone move to Tennessee. That’s because I want Kentucky all to myself 😂.

Born and raised in Bowling Green. I’ve lived all over the US as an adult and make really good $$ everywhere I’ve lived, except KY, but every time I move back to BG I live paycheck to paycheck. The pay has not changed much in 20 years that’s why people choose TN (Nashville Area) in my opinion.

As a jazz enthusiast, I tend to like Bluegrass music much more than country music.

I’ve split half my life between MI and AZ, I hope Cali doesn’t destroy either of these states. Bluegrass is the best! I’m a healthcare worker and can make good money in both states, but am drawn to KY. I’ve got 3 months ❤ thank you for this

Us too, but we lived in MN 50+ years, it’s too hard to break away. And 15-20 years earlier our state seemed to have way more trees than today. Grand majestic trees of all sorts used to be here in MN, at least in my memory, we did! Tennessee has so many ugh

When discussing “big cities” in Kentucky, don’t forget northern Kentucky greater Cincinnati area. It’s not a single city, but is comprised as one and it probably larger than Lexington if taken as a whole.

I would LOVE Bluegrass and Country music. Coming from the frozen Minnesota tundra, I'm looking to find that homestead outside a city near a quaint little town where I can sit on my front porch, whittle wood and sip bourbon while the wildlife enjoys their lives.

I think it's strange that Kentucky is called the South when it's in "the middle"

Another thing to consider with both Tennessee and Kentucky is that both states are pretty different between their Eastern and Western parts, especially in topography. I really like both states, and I keep thinking about Kentucky for retirement. I’ll have to watch your video on that (although it’s gonna be a while).

Good to know that Kentucky also has western flat land and the further east = it ascends to the the more rolling hills/steep Mt land!

I bet the lack of waving a friendliness is coming from people that moved from a state where they just don’t do that. I moved from nevada and ended up in cali (not by choice) and the people here for the most part are just flat out rude and zombie like. We wave at people and they give us dirty looks or look surprised that we’re waving. I don’t like it at all honestly! We’re looking at both Tennessee and Kentucky but ultimately it’s wherever God wants us to go! Thank you for making these videos! They help.
I listen to country and grew up in small towns mostly but I mainly listen to Christian music lately

Hey, thanks for the comment! Yeah, the mannerisms of folks out West are different from the folks out East, and there is a bit of a noticeable change with the influx of newcomers. Glad you find the videos helpful! Don't hesitate to reach out if we can help in any way!

I think I'd rather pay state income tax and some from Michigan versus the higher sales tax. And I do know that Kentucky when you turn 65 you no longer have to pay income tax.

We’re trying to find our home 🩷 we have 4 kids my oldest leaving for the military but with 3 littles from a baby to 12 we are trying to find the right place to raise them. We’re from small town where everyone knows everyone until the laws changed and now our towns gone. We loved our home we do annual Christmas light parades and so many things amazing things with a tiny town and then farms all over. The laws have ruined our way of life most of the city folks hate our way of life and they aren’t friendly, they don’t want chickens or cows and fight to change our laws 😓 it’s heartbreaking so much changed but the biggest was not being able to find any child care or help around the house. We had 7 speech therapists because no one wants to do these jobs anymore. It’s heartbreaking 💔 we have to find our forever home we have no family here my momma is in Tennessee my mother in law is in queens NY 👀 but we’re not city people always have been homesteaders and Jesus first everyone respects everyone and helps each other. If someone’s sick we come together as a town and do food trains and mow the grass but it’s ruined now where we are in upstate NY. I’m a mess over this because I am having such a hard time finding another place like where we live 😓 politics it seems are being changed everywhere and we just want our normal way of life. You live your life as long as you do no harm I could care less, but the politics are forcing change 💔😓

@@centralkentuckyliving thank you I will talk to my husband about it again 🩷 I know there’s still towns out there that don’t care at all who you are or what you do behind closed doors as long as your doing no harm, and are not looking to build fancy new state of the art everything an then tax you out of the little bit you have worked so hard for. I say this because our taxes were $6k in 2020 and now they are almost $12k but the pay is so bad now for education an the horrible new costs of living there’s no retention. So there is no one filling the spots that we’re paying so much in taxes to have filled. That was his breaking point, he traveled for years to NYC as a line man removing trees from power lines and things, an they started discussing banning wood stoves an the tax hike an that was it we knew it was time to go. We have so many winters we lose power to think we can’t have a source of heating was nonsensical. I will share your channel to him. Have a blessed weekend 🤗

I prefer blue grass (over country) music, but literally thought that originated in the hills of Tennessee, NOT Kentucky. Idk how these facts slip the mind , or get turned around, cuz dah…the rolling, beautiful, blue grass fields are Kentucky. Also Appalachia culture as a whole, I seem to associate it with Tennessee and West Virginia over Kentucky, as well. But it’s incorrect, so thank you for this info. Trees, magnificent trees, I think Tennessee wins in that category , however?

Thanks for the kind words! We don't get a ton of positive comments on this channel for some reason, a lot of people try to trash KY from behind the keyboard, but they don't know any better & miss out on how beautiful & peaceful the State actually is. But we sure do get the BEST relocators that call us to help them with their big move in finding their KY home! So that makes it worth it! You wouldn't be the first person we've helped from WA! We've helped a ton of folks from the West coast in the last several years! Great people too! Don't hesitate to reach out when you're ready!

Being very honest, not snarky. Tell them to stay up North or on the Wast Coast. They voted for that lifestyle, and will most definitely bring it with them. Virginia is literally ruined, compared to what it was twenty years ago. The DC culture is literally everywhere here. The amount of rural farmable land is and has been turned into subdivision’s. See your real estate taxes double. Yes, we also pay personal property tax as well. They move in, and nothing suits them.
