Watched this live, I come back to this set every once in a while, definitely the best smash ultimate set of all time
I’m not gonna say that Tweek didn’t play phenomenally throughout the whole set, but I really don’t think that he deserved the commentators popping off after he landed a 20% combo on Leo, while Leo would be doing insane edge guards and high level plays, and the commentators would just shrug it off like it’s ordinary (really reminds me of ZeRo in Smash 4)
People always like to dismiss the best players in the world of a game. ZeRo got INSANE hate from other players/people for just being that good. Leo is facing the same now.

Think about exponential vs linear growth. Joker's moveset is like the exponential graph, as in to say that he is difficult to use at first but once you start excelling later on the real potential starts to show. Simply put, think of metaknight from brawl. It took a while before people began to see that metaknight had this extra edge of potential that designated him as clearly superior. Hopefully I've managed to convey something to you here

I do not agree with the following; if Joker is OP, then we should see many Joker victory's in high level tournaments, because these players would have more opportunity to win.
This game is too complicated for such black & white logic to work like that. We certainly should not expect to see abundant Joker victory's... yet... Being that it is NOT easy to be the BEST Joker, but yes I would assert that Joker appears to have the most endowed moveset (attacking) and movement properties (evading).

Watching this during the quarantine series you really can tell how much better the commentary from cr1tikal and alpharad is
I have watched this set many times since I love watching both Joker & PT but every time I watch it, the more I realize how insanely unprofessional the commentary is. They give absolutely no credit to MKLeo's plays, how he makes excellent reads and does masterful conditioning. They are so hyperfocused on Tweek that their whole energy changes depending on if Tweek is losing or winning. Before anyone says they are rooting for Underdog, I just want to ask, has the definition of the underdog in Smash changed so much where it means #2 Ranked player in the world? Also shouldn't commentators try to be unbiased? These commentators are not even trying in the slightest to be unbiased.
MKLeo must feel sad when he watches these sets where he plays so well but the commentators do such a piss poor job in commentating his gameplay to the viewer and give him no credit.

You’re right about commentators needing to be unbiased. Although what you said about tweek not being an underdog is wrong. Leo is so dominant he makes the 2nd best in the world look like an underdog.

Cinnpie, who I’m pretty sure is the female commentator, has her problems commentating because she’s one of 2 types of commentators regularly, and it felt like for this GF she tried to be the more analytical type, even though she’s usually the hype type. She did her best though, I don’t usually see her commentate.
Even if there was no big Smash announcement after this, I enjoyed this Grand Finals greatly.

That last stock read on game 4 is probably the clutchest read of all Smash history.
It’s easily the Pinnacle of Reads of all of Smash 4 and Smash Ult. Not sure about melee or brawl as I was too young to follow the competitive scene but that read is most def Leo’s most defining play of all time second is when he beat mr R back in smash 4
Idk why people hate on Leo so much. He's shown extremely consistent high level gameplay and understanding of Smash. Never once seen him act nasty towards an opponent. Joker's not broken, MKLeo is just that good. You can tell he really understands how to play the character and enjoys doing so. None of the other characters he's mained ever fit him quite right. I hope we'll see much more of him in future tournaments.

Smash is an incredibly mental game. One must keep the utmost mental fortitude to succeed. MKLeo exemplifies this so well, because even when you’re one stock down it is sooooo easy to lose confidence and start playing differently. Even when you’re on the brink of winning, it can be a nightmare to close out the game. Smash is so mental man.

I feel Tweek's mentality compared to Leo's is what ultimately cost him the game. Leo barely ever makes mistakes and even when he does he can just cover for it like nothing happened. Tweek could have had the game but clearly cracked under pressure.

well unfortunately for tweek thats always been a problem for him, he quickly becomes overloaded when pressured and it causes him to make mistakes, which causes a cascade reaction in him that causes lost stocks. however he played very well and almost had it in the beginning, next year he needs more meth and cocaine i guess.

I swear leo is by far the most constant thing in smash as EE said before. He keeps pulling out the UNO reverse card like reverse 6-0 or game 4 leo-ing other people. But that's just the way I like it, the king of smash is a humble and chill person who always manage to surprise and silence the crowd.
