I’m from the uk and he is one of my heroes. Great vid!! In 73 he came up with the perfect line for the end of his MG days and his feud days ‘A sad end but a beautiful finish’ and that was Dickie Dawson, sleep well RD xx
Richard, was really a nice looking man. I think he was smart and really funny. The more you see of him on past shows the more you like him.He came across as a nice person and not only that he was just a classy man.

He was a very happy man, especially in his twightlight years. He wasn't that close to Betty. He knew her for years from Password and Match Game but they weren't very close friends.

Wonderful to see all the early photos and film footage. I really enjoyed the tribute; my only criticism are that the pics in the beginning pass by two quickly so I had to stop and start a lot just to see them and that it ended on a negative comment from Betty White. Betty White is a neat lady, but she goes through life with Perky on the high button and has made similar comments about other people who were not as animated as she is. Richard Dawson was a delight and came across as being a warm, genuine, caring and happy man to those of us who held him in such high regard.
