This is one guitar that I have been waiting for anxiously for the past 2 months. She is definitely One Amazing Cedar Top Concert Guitar. The main reason that generated such expectation is the fact that I wanted to build a Bellucci guitar that would stand out for being considerably lighter than all the ones I have built to date. Being I one classical guitar player that grew around Andres Segovia and his disciples, I have come to appreciate the goodies of heavy guitar construction. The Spaniards took the lead on that front and the guitars built anywhere between 1920 and 1985 are classifiable as "heavy guitars"... Lattice and alternative types of construction did not but augment the process of making guitars heavier and heavier with every passing year. For the past 20 years, with the Americas Being Present in Luthery, plus the always hyper creative European School where both Italians and Germans have kept the lead-, lighter types of guitars have started appearing on the scene. The big challenge from a player's perspective is that the instrument becomes somewhat more unstable because it does not sit as steady as its "heavy counterpart"... the advantage is that the instrument sound is more lively because the top and back are thinned below the 2mm frontier and this translates in a larger displacement of air. Naturally the thinning of the parts seems to jeopardize the structural resilience of the guitar but the advent of some amazingly clever construction techniques have compensated for this shortcoming and with the exception of a few failed attempts, most lightweight guitars build nowadays serve their players to perfection because unlike me, and a whole generation of late timers, most players nowadays come from a totally different school of guitar and many come from different guitar styles altogether. I am the type of person that sincerely believes that "in media res" -latin for "Virtue lies in the middle" Not too heavy, not too light...... Having said that I now know that Bellucci guitars will be built in an even wider range of configurations where weight becomes one element to be kept into consideration and offered especially in Custom Guitar Construction.
Allow me to introduce this amazing Bellucci Ultra Light Masterpiece Guitar. She is really stunning ! The grain on the beautiful Malawi set of Indonesian Rosewood is marvelous... Nature displays her ability to display God's amazing artistry and creativity. Coupling the beautiful back and sides with an equally gorgeous Western Redcedar set from Northern Canada was the second decision I will never regret because when the two woods finally started vibrating fully for the demo video I could feel her soul come to life and how generous her sound is, especially when you consider that she's fresh out of the lacquering booth. Stunning work of art, easy to play thanks to Bellucci guitars player perspective approach the I have implemented from the conception of Bellucci Guitar #1 all the way to this amazingly affordable # 1,444 that was completed for the Glory of God on February 12, 2016.
