Being American is not about the blood in your veins, it's about the heart that's pumping it. It doesn't matter where your from or what you look like, you can be born with an American heart, or lack thereof, regardless of what anyone says. Those with American hearts are the ones who, like their flag, never truly retreat, because they believe that continuing on the never-ending journey towards the more perfect union that Thomas Jefferson described in the first sentence of the Constitution is worth it.

Freedom is not FREE, but it's what is in your heart that makes it possible. There are so many who do not embrace the freedom that so many fought and died for or who still bear the scars of conflict and the battles far away. The battle gets closer friends. I was born and live in Russia. But from early childhood it seems to me that I am in the wrong place. Listening to our politicians and I saw only their darkness. Everything seems alien to me in this country. Lack of a national idea and general idiocy. But again, from early childhood, I looked at the American soldiers, at the brave people of other professions and at the American flag with trembling in my heart. I even started to wonder who I was in my past life (if the theory is true) America is truly free of oppression. I am proud of my beliefs.

I'm sorry if this is isn't what you wanted to here, but don't join up, i signed up when i was 17, made the military my whole life, and made alot of great friends, and as soon as we got home, Our country stopped giving a fuck about us. The US government doesn't care about the conditions of vets as soon as we get home, alot of my buddies have killed themselves, and i'm worried that more will in the future. Don't join, the people pretend to care because it makes them feel like they're doing something good, but they don't hear about the what comes with serving, both emotionally and physically . I decided to join the police force rather than the military.
I believe my duty is to change this country for the good. And that change will be involving the police force. I will do WHATEVER it takes to make our community better while my brother and sisters in the military make the WORLD and AMERICA safe.
