  • Been loving my 2017 Honda Africa twin, but on the highway the steering feels a touch sensitive. Decided to pick up a Scott's steering damper kit and here is the install video. Tried to keep it pretty fast-paced. Hopefully I didn't miss anything or give any wrong information. As always, feedback in the comments(positive or negative) is greatly appreciated. Thanks

    Many thanks for such well made video. About to receive my Scott’s for my AT and wanted to learn a few things in advance. Better than that now as I will install it following your video right on my work bench.

    Always learn something useful watching your videos, I didn't know that about the bar clamps, front first then clamp with the rear bolts, perfect video very explanatory. Thank you very much Chris straight to the point as always

    I second your recommendation of the Tac-form mount. I have one on my touring cruiser and its the best one I've used.

    Just a little something I noticed about the bar position on mine... The standard position is uncomfortable when standing up as they are set back, however if you tilt them forward standing up becomes way better, when standing, just make sure the adjustment you add doesn't hit the fairing on full lock. Saves having to get bar raisers. Better for the taller people 😜

      I also have mine tilted forward some. Does the trick for sure!

    Hi Chris, I also have a tricolor AT from 2017, great content you're putting out about the bike, thanks! Are you going to do something about the wheels like convert them to tubeless or just don't care about having tubes? Also how are your spokes overall? Any corrosion?

    • @NoNonsenseKnowHow
      @NoNonsenseKnowHow  3 роки тому

      Hey. Glad you find the information to be useful. I don't mind having tubes. All of my bikes have tubes so it's not too big of a deal for me. Is there a problem that people have been having with the spokes? I haven't noticed any corrosion with mine.

      @@NoNonsenseKnowHow Yes, seems all 2016, 2017 models don't have stainless steel spokes, so depending where you live (salt on the road, close to the beach etc) they start showing some corroding signs. Mine has 3 years and has a bit, not gonna lie, but don't really care much, when they're gone I'll just add a stainless steel ones and be done with it. Still an awesome bike for the money, mine has around 30k kms, around 19k miles. As for the tubes, I get why honda did it, cheaper and better for offroad because after a bent rim, it's done, but after a flat on the highway and having to call the road service truck and miss a whole morning because of a flat tire... it's frustrating, with a plug kit it would have take 20min xD

    • @NoNonsenseKnowHow
      @NoNonsenseKnowHow  3 роки тому +2

      @@twinrideradv2473 got you. Yeah I'm not usually around any salt so I don't think it will be a problem for me. I don't ride the bike when salts on the road in the winter. I'm surprised they didn't use stainless though. Even my 1999 BMW F650 funduro had stainless spokes.

      @@twinrideradv2473 I agree that having tubeless is certainly more convenient. Plugging a tire is a breeze. I usually carry a spare tube and pump though if I'm going anywhere that's remote. I've had to swap tubes off road a couple times. Definitely more time consuming.
