This might sound nerdy, you're experiencing a more wobbly ride because you're sitting on the top, during any sort of roll, pitch, yaw movement you make a bigger Arc of movement as you're sitting quite far from the axis of rotation (bigger radius). You sit closer to the axis while sitting on the conventional seat so you fell lesser roll
