    Thanks so much for your video. I'm 49 and on day 14 and I'm loving how I feel and my confidence is off the scales. I'm having the same problems you had I can do 4 pull ups now but when I started I was 240 and pulling that up wasn't haappening. I also get ticked that I can't keep up with them but I modified also, and now I'll use your ideas.
    It's just nice to here that others had trouble keeping up too.
    Thanks
    Ron

    Awesome! Im sincerely glad they helped. This is a "one day at a time" thing. You do the work today, not because you see immediate results, but you know that doing the work each day will lead you to where you want to be. Baby steps!

    Very helpful, Mike. I just started P90X, on day 3 today. I have been discouraged with not being able to keep up with the videos. But this actually opens my eyes a little about my outlook on my workout sessions. I'll definitely keep your tips in mind.

    Well, I've had p90x for about a year. I would do it on and off, because I kept getting injured. I just started my p90x round for real (im really going hard this time) this monday, so this is week one. The hardest part is honestly the diet, which most say is hte most important. Its not that I don't want to eat healthy, its that I don't live by myself, and im not in charge of what gets bought and made for dinner etc...

    thanks for the question.. .yea, I definitely would recommend either the power blocks or the smaller bowflex 552's. You wont go wrong with either... mine dumbbells are just too large. Lol. Maybe they'll come in handy one day when I can curl 90 lbs in each arm... until then. = /

    hey man, i totally agree... the hardest part is DEFINITELY the diet. I totally understand about not being in charge about what you eat... lol, my wife pretty much chooses the food we eat here as well. Well, that and because I DONT cook, lol. What works for me is hinting and persuading her to buy the foods I want. lol, you should try it!

  • @bladesNstuff

    hey mike great video, and great results. have you tried a p90x insanity hybrid workout? i've done both and insanity cardio is much better than any of the p90x cardio days. what do you think?

  • @teamIRONMAN01
    @teamIRONMAN01  12 років тому

    hey man, thanks for the comment! My advice... STICK WITH IT! As you said, once the results start coming in you will be totally addicted. For me, the first month as terrible... but after that it became much easier and I honestly looked forward to doing it. It wont take long, man. Just keep pushing play and remember that these baby steps (working out) you take every day will lead to an overall HUGE goal accomplished. You'll get there.

    Hi great tips. Longtime gym goer who is hesitant to give P90x a try. I tend to do the same workout week after week and I read how lifting heavy is the only way to go. Do you periodize where you focus on strength for several weeks followed by hypertrophy

    • @teamIRONMAN01
      @teamIRONMAN01  5 років тому

      Hi David.. thanks for the comment and I sincerely apologize for the delayed response. As for P90X and strength... I honestly found that I was getting stronger while doing P90X. All in all though... it's a 3 month program. I would say go all in on that and test your strength before and after to see how you do. In the big picture, 3 months of p90x isn't going to make you lose or gain a ton of strength. It will kick your butt into better shape though. =)
      Hope this helps, man. Best of luck!

    yeah, that's what I do. Hey, im on my second week of p90x, and have seen absolutely no results (apart from more reps on chest yesterday). That's a clear indication that I'm progressing, but Im really hoping to see some results soon? Did you get physical results in the first few months?

    Any advice on shoulder doing p90x with shoulder pain? I know it was caused by me sleeping on it while steadily gaining alot of weight but I can tell it's preventing me from going hard during certain workouts like pushups.

    • @teamIRONMAN01
      @teamIRONMAN01  6 років тому +1

      Hi Danny... please accept my sincere apology for this reply taking so long. I don't use this channel as much any more, but that's still a bad excuse. Anyhow, as for should pain... I totally get where you're coming from. I had shoulder surgery before starting P90X, and I am currently experiencing some shoulder pain in my other shoulder now. One thing that I have found to help is doing a TON of stretching after each workout. I have pain in the back of my shoulder, so one thing that has noticeably helped was doing a laying sleeper stretch like this (ua-cam.com/video/J9yRiOeVvIM/v-deo.html).
      Either way, I would say DEFINITELY start easy with the workouts, and be sure to stretch very well before and after each workout. Be sure you're also drinking a ton of water as well. I have noticed that my joints are less swollen and heal more quickly when I am well hydrated.
      I hope this helps some, man. Please let me know if you have any other questions. Best of luck buddy!

    great videos on tips man i just got my P90X and i would consider my self skinny fat im fat but not over kill im 170 im 5,4 being so short i shouldn't be 170 for my height
    i have a quick question tho if anyone can hope me out here would be much appreciated
    are you supposed to skip a day or two for recovery or just go through the whole 90 days no days off ?

    • @teamIRONMAN01
      @teamIRONMAN01  8 років тому

      Hey, great question man! P90X has built in recovery days and days off. I would recommend that you follow the program as it is... that will be difficult at first as you will be super sore. However, it DOES get better. Just stick with it. =)
      Also, be sure to follow the nutrition plan. That's by far the best thing you can do to start seeing your results quickly. You will definitely get in much better shape from doing the program, but you won't see ridiculous results unless you follow the diet plan.
      Let me know if you have any questions about the diet.. best of luck, man. God bless.

    • @Rockkofla
      @Rockkofla 8 років тому

      Mike Smith Thanks alot 😃
      i just started my p90x 2 days ago and today will be my third day yes my body is sore but i wanna fight through the paint should i do that ?
      btw if i should take off days what day should i take off ? what worked for u ?
      by the way p90x is kicking my freaking butt by far i cant do 80% of the work outs correctly im struggling pretty bad
      also how does the diet plan work ? i read it but it doesn't make sense to me like i don't understand how to follow the diet plan because i really want too because i WANT TOO DO everything RIGHT your help is much appreciated

    • @teamIRONMAN01
      @teamIRONMAN01  8 років тому

      No problem, man. I would recommend working out if you can, but not at the expense of creating an injury. If you're just sore, that's one thing... you can do it. However, if you near injury (strained muscles, etc), then maybe switch it up and do some sort of light cardio to loosen up.
      The day that work best for me was the built in rest day of Sunday. I attend church and generally just rested that day. It fit my schedule well, so I went with that. You definitely need to take a rest day though... your body won't like going 3 months straight of working out. =)
      Good luck, buddy.

    • @Rockkofla
      @Rockkofla 8 років тому

      Mike Smith awesome 👌🏽 so every sunday take that day as off day? also p90x comes with 12 dvds im going through 1 dvd workout at a time
      is that right? i know these are stupid questions but im very new to working out and it all sounds so confusing but i am doing my very best to understand it all
      i have the p90x calendar on my Wall and im crossing out the day i finish the workout when i take a day off i dont cross anything on the calendar right? until the next day when i workout again right?
      by the way I gave the video a thumbs up and also subscribed 😃

    • @teamIRONMAN01
      @teamIRONMAN01  8 років тому

      Not stupid questions... we all start somewhere. You're doing it correctly... follow the classic calendar and mark off the days as you complete them. I would recommend using something like a sticky note or tape or something so you dont ruin your calendar though. =)
      If I remember correctly, there were 12 dvds, and each had a different workout. I just looked at the calendar to see what was coming next and did that. Keep it simple.
      Hope this helps, man.. and thanks for the thumbs up. I havent posted videos in some time for beachbody programs, but I am starting to get back into it. Just started a hybrid myself with Body Beast, Hammer & Chisel, and 22 Minute Hard Corps. I am excited to get really lean again. It's been some time now. =)
      Let me know if you ever run into any questions about the diet, etc.
      God bless.

  • @teamIRONMAN01
    @teamIRONMAN01  12 років тому

    I actually did get results pretty quickly man. I mean no disrespect by this, but if you're not seeing results it usually boils down to one of two problems... either you're not dialing in your nutrition, or you're not pushing hard enough in the workouts. My guess is that its the nutrition part.
    80% of what you see is a result of what you eat. If you want some ideas about diet - check out the nutrition tab on my site. I have a sample fat shredder diet that I followd there. Hope it helps, man!

    hey bro... im not sure that it matters if you pause a little... just as long as you're not pausing for 2 mins after every move. If you only do it once or twice then I dont think its a prob. If you pausing A LOT, then just drop the reps some and try to complete it all. You want it to *BURN* as much as possible... lol
