Thanks you so much for this tutorial ! Un grand merci :) This tune can be played for hours in loop. You could copy your link for chords in the video description ;)
Hi James Wow thanks for that neat little tutorial. @0:33 you talk about C#dim (3)45|35x) I wonder what this 2-3-1-4 refers to. Is it the fingering or intervals? 1:33 Cool II-V(-I) Lick Dm7 (5)53|56x - G7 (3)x3|46x - (Cmaj7) I didn't played the G7 like this before (I just used the G7/13 or G7/b13 variations).
asselpunk1 Thanks for the comment. The C#dim is fingers and not intervals. It's the 4th fret of the A string, the 5th fret of the D and B strings, and the 3rd fret of the G string.
Could u make this video again and focus the camera on the chords? Its not easy to tell what they actually are at that angle. Judging from the sound of the chords, its one the best tutorials ive seen. Sounds just like the song.
I won't be able to redo this video, but here is a link to the chord forms I used. drive.google.com/file/d/1KeFnBF9XFGJ9FbKgUsbmY3B1HRp4wR5Y/view?usp=drivesdk
So nice for my level........ & I better run.... take notes quick......& if I am not 100% familiar with " samba de orfeo ".... I have to listen the song a few times 'til I get it. Thnks very much........... sounds great.......
Hi - In the description there is a link to the chord form diagrams. It also seems some other viewers have tabbed this out so you might want to contact them too.
Nelson Faria's Book on Brazilian guitar is very helpful. But until then your thumb should play just on beats 1 & 3 and your fingers play on beats 1, 2, and the "and" of beat 3 is a good basic pattern.

I thought I was the only one who called the 7#9 chord the "Jimi Hendrix chord." Haha!
I heard it called that by a distinguished professor of music at Yale many years ago. It is funny though.
Nice song, however your audio is hard to follow at times.
