I got interested in learning Japanese in my early 30's. I started studying kanji and kana but the spoken part was a challenge. So I went to a lot of sushi bars to talk with the sushi chefs. I found that won me a lot of approval (and free sushi). Subsequently I studied with Japanese exchange students and eventually went to Japan for a short time. After three years I felt pretty proficient and answered an ad looking for a Japanese translator. I applied for the job and to my amazement, I got it! The company was NEC America in New York. I worked there for 23 years and made many trips to Japan. So, what started out as a curious hobby turned into my lifelong career.
There was no UA-cam back when I started so instructional videos like this are fabulous learning tools.
Needless to say I love Japan, the country, the culture, the history, the language, the people and don't get me started on the food. The one thing about Japanese as compared to English it is a very logically organized language. I cannot imagine how difficult English is to learn for a foreigner. So, if you want to learn Japanese I say: "Ganbatte (頑張って!"

is that so? I'm Japanese, but my high school Japanese teacher taught me that English is more logical than Japanese. In English papers, there is a clear structure in which nouns are modified later, but in Japanese papers, this is often not so clear, so you end up not knowing what you want to say. is.

The content inside is of very high quality and the design quality is also high, but I feel a gap or a sense of discomfort in that only the quality of the thumbnail design is low. I think it would be better if neutral colors such as pastel colors were selected and used instead of primary colors, which would connect with the sophisticated expression of the overall content and make people want to play the video even more.

I knew a few of the introductory words from Japanese language discs I'd made in my college days & think the language portions are very good.
However, I believe 'throwing' in the writing portions so early in yhe lessons, though interesting, could be VERY discouraging to the average person teetering on going forward & giving up.
Writing Japanese really needs its own separate video & shouldnt be conflated with any "introductory" lessons where getting a feel for the language is so important.

Japanese also has stresses to their syllables. "SUmiMAsen", ARiGAtou", "WAsabi". Also to learn pronouncing the "r" sound properly, it's the same as saying the letter "d" but softer, so you might as well teach it that way.

Katakana is usually for foreign names and loan words, Harry Potter = ハリーポッター would be written all in Katakana for a foreign name , Hamburger = ハンバーガー written all in Katakana because it's a loan word. How do we know which word are loan words? That comes with learning vocabulary. You do not mix Hiragana with Katakana for the same word.
Hiragana can be used instead of Kanji, if you don't know how the Kanji for UP (上) but you know that it's spoken as うえ (u e) you could write it in Hiragana うえ but not in Katakana ウエ
Good morning (o ha yo u) with the Kanji is お早う or with only Hiragana おはよう
