Wow every time I see the chemistry between Damon and Bonnie I don't understand how the writers missed this amazing pair up as a couple? It was all wasted. And though I adored Elena on the show. I felt that Kat's fantastic acting was just underrated. I felt like all they did was give fans who idolized Elena wishing they were her and Damon wishing they had a man like him and fed into this love forever only one person. However never did anyone question that. Damon loved Katharine look alikes. That's all I took away from it. The woman who he and his brother fought over ridiculously. Not too many fans were looking at that fact that Elena slept with both I repeat both brothers. Which is wrong. What love is there when family fights over a love interest. The Delena fans were free to like what they want. But still cmon man. So Elena's friend Caroline can be with Stefan but her friend Bonnie must stay hypocritically loyal to her about Damon? Making no sense of it. Bamon went through growth and development. They had chemistry. Delena was love scene stuff no chemistry no growth. Stefan should have been with Elena and Damon should have been with Bonnie. Caroline should have been with Klaus or Alaric. My opinion. Matt should have had someone else to. The Vampire Diaries became the Delena show neglecting other characters. I look at it like this, Kat and Ian were pushing for Bamon. But people who write for the show became scared of losing fans over a change. I don't think most people get a good looking couple doesnt equal happy and in love. Writers and fans Barbie and Ken Delena to me. Pretty isn't happy, how they looked not how the show of the relationship itself was.
I know this comment is a year old, but gotdammit I agree. Damon and Bonnie should have happened, their development was mind boggling. But instead, we got a lackluster finale with a anticlimatic reunion between Damon and Elena. Hell, the Delena shippers deserved better than that.
Right??? They basically saved this show for me- their relationship is so complex and breathes life- I adore them. I'm going to hold out hope until the finale, because it would be such a waste if they didn't go further in their love. :(

+Isabela Torres Bonnie was dying because Enzo was giving her pills he thought only kept her hidden from the Amory (people who were trying to use Bonnie for her powers), but the pills ended up slowly killing her at the same time. Rayna is a vampire huntress who they wanted to die, so Bonnie could live but Rayna didn't tell Enzo/Damon that when Bonnie is given Rayna's life, she will become a vampire huntress who wants to kill all vampires. So, as Bonnie was trying to kill Damon, Matt knocked her out with tranquilizers because she will be hurt if she kills Damon. The characters seem to be in love with each other but the writers are set on making Bonnie and Damon platonic, despite all the Bamon supporters.
