- About Old Barnsley In Colour. - Each video (volumes) has 32 images all of which were originally black & white. I use many different pieces of software on my MAC to colourise / upscale / repair / clean / add skies etc.
My name is Stuart Sykes and I have lived in Barnsley all my life and its my passion to restore old black and white photographs of Barnsley. If I have a wish its to leave something to posterity and so here they are - I wish my parents who were both from the Barnsley area could have seen these images, I know they would have loved seeing them and remembering.
The images in this video have been sourced from various places including internet searches, post cards, via email, messenger and other local websites. I am assuming that all these images are now out of copyright but if any image does contravene any copyright still held then I will remove it immediately from these video's please let me know at: info@real-soft.co.uk

Brilliant pictures. My father was a butcher (Park Road, Worsborough Bridge) and good friends with Albert Hirst. For a short time in 1971, in my student days, I drove a van for them. “Young” Albert was coming up through the ranks and on the other van. Good people and great to see his picture.
Thanks for that - All the best
Great photos . Thank you
Many thanks!
I have watched every single one of these. Gray stuff Barnsley born and bred here. Hoyland common I was from.
