Not at all easy but keeping a clear head and being methodical about each step gets you closer. I will be relaxed when it is off the roof and at least half of the trunk is roped to itself.
I know from watching the Tank Masters Environmental oil tank removal/replacement service that there are those heavy plastic mats that can be put down over soft yards to then safely drive over...I guess having something to carry those around and move them may be more work than trying with the bobcat to fix the dirt. Good video with helpful explanations on the logic and the what and why you did the work. :)
Those gnarly old Oaks give a different Twist to deal with on every limb. Seems almost diabolical the challenges they present you. Removing one problem limb and there's another one to deal with. Good you were able to get the bucket in there to help things out. That is a major tree to deal with Blair especially to remove it without damaging the house and deck further. That ain't Balsa wood you are dealing with, tons of gravity in that old giant. Looking forward to the next episode.
You may have already progressed past this point but I wondered even with the A frame plus two vertical braces, when further weight is eliminated is there a possibility of that main supported trunk rotating off or away from your supports? Really enjoying this project adventure. You and Jorge keep being safe.
I don’t believe it will rotate because the root ball is still partly intact. If it had broken or if the roots were completely out of the ground, then that could be a factor. My hope is the roots will support some of this trunk but the added supports feel important.
Isn’t carb/state of California making it near impossible to run old diesel equipment. Is your bucket old enough to be exempt? I don’t think you could replace that bucket with something similar these days. That’s a cool truck/bucket
That's fifty Years of experience right there, outstanding Sir, 👍💪🔨🌲🇺🇲🇮🇪🇮🇪
Still a head scratcher though
@@arboristBlairGlenn It will be no problem to you Sir, you've seen and done it all, 👍💪💪🪓🌲🇺🇲🇮🇪
What, job from HELL is an understatement….. WOW!!
Stay tuned. Still have about 4 more episodes to do.
Someone would look at that and think "It should be easy to just cut that up and get it cleared up". And yet, you still make it look easy.

Nice work Blair. Lots of good rigging points in that standing tree beside the house eh
We will be using that big Valley Oak for sure. Glad it is there. A crane would be my first choice but can’t get one in here. Backyard engineering
Nice going Glenn, very interesting content. Never 2 days alike when dealing with trees🎄
My job is not boring

We actually didn’t end up using the Bobcat
Bothered and bedeviled, but at least not bored. Hang in there!
We will get there
That is a massive tree. I love trees like this but they're a bit scary.
Intriguing, not scary
That was interesting, looking forward to next one. A lot off glass around the house.
Yes, a LOT of stuff to break -(or not break) I hope.

Like a game of chess. You need to see a few moves ahead, so you don’t mess up.

My diesel truck is still classified as a pick up. So far, so good but the state will likely screw us again.
Easier to move the house!
I like the challenge. Getting the small bucket in was a big help for part of the tree
