I’m an electrician in Palm Springs and today I was working in a kitchen, and the job was not going well. One challenge after another. I was ready to pack it up, this job was unsolvable. Then I saw “you” . A refrigerator magnet of the Mona Lisa Coco Peru. Staring at me. Damn, Coco is watching me. Now I have to solve this problem. I finished the job, all is well, and I thank you.
So sitting in Waffle House around 1am in Dallas with friends AFTER seeing Liza in concert.....I look up and guess who walks in....LIZA..... it was her and her boyfriend at the time...this was the early 90s and she had just released a new album. Well of course we were freaking out but no one else noticed or would've known who she was. So we let her eat in peace and walked out behind her and approached her in the parking lot. It just so happened that I had her album in the car and she signed it and was SOOO gracious and down to earth... its a moment I'll never forget.
Liza use to have breakfast with her father Vincent at the Pancake House on Sunset Blvd. in Hollywood. This was in the 1970s. I must have seen her there at least 4 times. Never approached her, just admired from afar.

Coco funny I got my first migraine headache the same day as you. I did not realize that New York New York original music was written by Kerner Ebb. How incredible is that? Closest I ever came to meeting Liza, was many years ago! I was in NY at an audition, and She was rehearsing a show in the same building. I had no idea she was there. After the audition I got on the elevator with a bunch of other people. And for some reason something or someone in my head told me to look to my right. There She was! Liza right next to me, so close I could see the freckles on her left shoulder! ( She was wearing a house dress.) She didn't look at me, but I could see she was not in the mood to be social, so I quickly looked away. When we all exited the building, she got to the side walk, and a voice yelled out, " Hi Liza, how is the show going?" She turned and said to the guy, " Its good, it's going good." Then a car pulled up, and she got in and was gone. My Mother and brother met her a few years later in an A&P down in Ortly Beach while on vacation. I asked my brother what was she doing? How did she look? He said, " she looked like one of the Polish ladies from downtown Jersey City where we grew up, and she was buying olive loaf at the deli counter." Made me love her even more.
Coco, you have lived my fantasy about Liza Minnelli. I've been obsessed with her ever since 'The Sterile Cuckoo' and when she did 'Cabaret' it just blew my head off! I've seen her about 20 times in concert and just love her. Thank you so much for that story. I'm glad one of us became friends with her; and deservedly so.

I absolutely love these Coco moments. I look forward to them. I first saw you when I was a kid walking past the television when my older sister was watching something. I Didn’t know who you were at the time but as the years went on you would frequently appear on various outlets that I watch and always leave such a moment for my memories. I went to a Catholic school, and when we heard a siren the Nun would stop class and we would say a prayer !! I play UA-cam videos that are the sound of the sea, or the rain, snow storms etc they are very soothing and relaxing to calm an ever thinking mind. Slowing those cogs down. I play them in the background to sleep to. I suffer terrible migraines and have done this week because it’s hay fever season here in Norfolk, England. She and Burt Reynolds are bootleggers, and there's a scene where she's lighting Molotov cocktails and handing them to Burt Reynolds and they're throwing them off the boat. At another boat. At the rival bootleggers I think. It's been a long time since I've seen it. It's been forgotten. I spent most of the '90s walking past the Castro Theater on my way to work, and did they ever show The Lucky Lady? No. Not once. Valley of the Dolls just about every summer, but never the Lucky Lady.
