I’m right there with you- I cheer for the bulls. I saw one bullfight on tv. I was young- maybe 13, and I remember crying that they hurt the bull for fun. I never understood why they still do this. I love it when the folks get gored! I cheer for the bull! Ole🐂
Miss Coco you are a light for me in so many ways. Thank you for sharing your stories, your life, your art and so much more. Blessings to you and yours!
Hearing, "Hello my darling Coco Puffs..." makes my heart smile! I am sooo happy you finally got your surgery, and that you are feeling good! Your reminiscing is always such a blessing to my soul. When you panned in on the sexy bullfighter, I couldn't help but crack up while agreeing with you! Just saying.... And, o..m..g.... agree re bullfighting! Sorry not sorry, when the "bullfighters" get gored, can't help but mildly smirk. Hopefully barbarism becomes a thing of the past. Cruelty is never masculine or sexy!
Glad you're doing so well. Physical therapy can be a pain in the tuchus, but it's a necessary evil. My mom joined Columbia House and got 10 albums for a penny. Then she had to buy six or seven more in the next three years. She stayed with them much longer and ended up with a fabulous music library. I still love all those songs. She's been gone for four years and I miss her everyday. Today your post brought back a flood of memories... Thank you 😘🤗❤ And you never go on too long.
Thank you for another entertaining installment of Coco Thoughts. It's truly fascinating how things that we were obsessed with in our childhood have some sort of relevance to us as we've grown older. Wishing a speedy recovery. Stay safe and take care.
Hello Coco...I hope you are healing well, and just wanted to say thank you for your videos. Over been a long time fan, and I adore you! Sometimes I don't watch for a few days then come back and get to watch a few of your videos which is a treat! I'll keep you in mind during my daily meditations and visualize you healthy, whole and with full use of your shoulder! Much Love
Hi, Coco! Not sure if you've ever seen them, but you can buy 12" square picture frames and frame those Spain LP's and hang them on the wall. Stores like Michael's Art Supplies carry them. And they often have coupons, too! Also so happy your shoulder is healing nicely! Take care of yourself! XO
From someone from Spain with Cordoba genes I highly appreciate this post. I understand your hate for bullfighting as much as I do, but that art pictures inspired on your LP covers are amazing, I have an uncle who run san fermin bull races and also family in Pamplona. So happy you like our culture and still can discern what is wrong in it like in many other cultures. Hugs/abrazos from Spain. Get well soon.
I am glad your surgery went well. Your videos have been so uplifting during this time of crisis and self isolation. Love you Coco. Thanks for sharing your life. My husband died in November so my life is still upside down.
You could NEVER go on too long! I could listen to you all day! I think the forces of the universe were getting you ready for your future! Those albums are great! I am so sorry about your shoulder. I hope you heal fast! Take care of your beautiful self! Love you! 💜
I too was worried as to what happened to you...... So relieved to hear that you were able to have your surgery and get it over with and that you are home recuperating. I love all of you videos but I particularly loved this one, and I think it is so fantastical that your early love of Spain would become such an integral part of your future life! Our son spent a semester in Barcelona 2 years ago and my husband and I went to visit him and we fell in Love with Spain. My son was able to go back to visit with a college friend and we all hope to be able to take a trip back there again and see more of that beautiful country. I'm sure Raphael is taking good care of you as you recover and know how much we all Love you and missed you. xoxoxo
You made alot of sense, as always! God willing, next year in Spain! Sending prayers for a smooth, complete healing of your shoulder. I am past getting old--already there! God bless you for what you contribute to life!
Spain holds a special place in my heart. I had the best three weeks of my life there. Such a beautiful country with wonderful culture and people. I hope to get back there some day 💗
Love you Coco. You make me feel so much better when I’m feeling down. I’m glad you’re feeling good! I had shoulder surgery a couple years ago, the first few months are hell but it gets so much better after that.
Not to make " Rafael " jealous but I am in LOVE with you...YOUR unbelievable REAL stories about your LIFE childhood and family in the Bronx touch my HEART in a VERY SPECIAL way...I was a lil GURRL from QUEENS...So similar..I have had surgery on both shoulders...PLEASE do the PT..It helps so much...SENDING wishes for a speedy recovery...and MILLIONS of THANKS for your BRUTAL and PROFOUND honesty... Your new fan, David.
It was Columbia House Records Club. The introductory offer was, buy 10/12 records 33s for 99 cents. (Then the 8-track tapes came along. They were a disaster.) You had to buy the same amount or more within a year, then you'd get free ones. And they'd send one out every month, according to your music taste, if you didn't return the send out card (that was my job, posting the don't send card). My mother had a membership. Andre Kostelanetz and Henry Mancini were her favs. She was a professional singer on the radio, back in her home country, Honduras. So we listened to or played music all the time. But, those album covers back then were amazing! My brother's girlfriend's stepdad was a radio DJ, so we used to get signed copies, too. We took all of that for granted. And I only have one LP, now. I wish I'd saved all of 'em. By the time I had my Columbia membership, it was cassette tapes, so boring. Now, they have 0. Sad, really. When I was a kid in the 60s we went to Houston to see a bullfight. And, we watched the bull running every year. By the time I went to Spain in the 90s, thank goodness I lost interest. ICYMI "Sketches of Spain" is the best work by Miles Davis. He even said so himself. Thanks so much, for taking me down memory lane!!! Hope your shoulder heals asap. Was it a bone spur? It's such a nagging sort of pain, innit. I have bursitis in my left shoulder for 10 years (I injured it twice). It's manageable, as long as I don't deal with anything heavy. I take turmeric tea for it, with a few chili flakes. (If you try it, I use the dried turmeric, the fresh one stains everything orange). You have to take it a month before it helps. Salud!
I'm so glad to hear your surgery was a success Coco I know you were really struggling with that shoulder. This was a great story in so many ways. Happy Endings all the way around even for the bull just the way I like them.. imagine that you even found the man of your dreams. That doesn't happen too often in the real world. How wonderful. Big hugs
Really great to hear from you and glad your surgery went well. I agree with you about the Bull Fights which are still very popular here. You will get back to Spain soon. Be Well!! !
There are some people that can create their own lives and are very clear about what that means. You created a life that has taken you on a path that you were meant for. Look at all the dreams that came true. Its really very interesting how your journey has turned out..... and you aren't even finished. But I also think that you are very grateful and haven't taken any of it for granted and thats the key for success.
Best wishes for a speedy recovery. It sucks getting older, true, but but I am not thrilled with the alternative. It is so gratifying to find another soul that roots for the bulls. Go Bulls!!
I've never stopped to think of the Running fo the Bulls being a moment for the bulls to get even. I didn't realize you were obsessed with Spain -- I share a connection with that country as well! Hope you feel much better soon from your shoulder surgery. I am obsessed with YOU~ Miss Coco Peru!
OH and of course I forgot to add that I too am sorry you can't go see the running this year in person -- but hopefully they still have it and we can all watch! I know I'll definitely be looking into it.
Hi Miss Coco! So glad you're healing up from your surgery, when will we get a tour of your Coco Room? I was wondering about you. Very glad to hear your taking care of you. Prayers for a speedy recovery. I too love a good tush as well and boy that one was a cutie! Stay well! Luv ya!
Get well soon Coco. Your story brought back memories of my trip to Colombia in the 70's....we went on a tour in a rickety old bus that took us into the countryside to see a show in a rodeo type ring and didn't quite know what to expect …..all the young men were there waiting to display their virility [rite of passage] or something when the gates were opened and a herd of bulls were set loose on them, the men were being gored left and right, I don't know if anyone died - it was all so surreal. Maybe all the cervezas I drank that day made it more intense than it was and the bulls were small and could have had there horns taped.....but it was a wild and amazing spectacle i'll never forget.
Your thoughts are a gift that continue to give! I'd love to see you be an English language commentator for the Running of the Bulls, but until then, best wishes on your recovery!

Glad you are recovering well from your shoulder surgery. I had a feeling you wanted a couple of days off. I was going to ask about your whereabouts, but I didn't want to put any kind of pressure on you to post a video. I'm a patient person. :)
