2024 response If Kelsey was this good in college, why didn't the media put a super-hype machine on her like they eventually did with Caitlin Clark? Who knows if years ago, Kelsey could've been Caitlin and brought millions more fans & revenue to the WNBA.
Because Plum broke the women's scoring record. Clark broke the women's scoring record..then she broke the men's scoring record. All time collegiate scorer
Cait played for IOWA and for a few years went deep into the women's NCAA championships, the only time the general public actually cared bout women's college basketball unless you went to that school. Cait was the best player on an IOWA team that got a ton of national coverage for making it deep into the the tourney each year she was there. If CC was still the same player at IOWA but that team lost 15-20 games each year, never made it to the tourney when the casual masses tune in, CC would not have all the spotlights on her going INTO the WNBA. Shed get some shine but not until she started doing mad crazy shit in the league. Cait gotta thank her Iowa team and coahces for them going that deep that many times so the national spotlight could be on her. No one outside of those corn fields were giving two shits bout CC and Iowa during their regular seasons.

What did I just watch ?
Her game is different from Caitlin Clark. She is very good but doesn't command the double teams and scrutiny that Clark goes through and always being the main focus for opposing teams. Also clark shooting range is limitless, her passing is elite and rebounds like a forward. And 4 inches taller than Kelsey Plum.
Her passing in the WNBA is NOT elite. Shes top 5 in turnovers, bottom 5 in +/- while on the court. And she has the same defensive prowess as Luka, which is ZERO. Kelsey is a more rounded completely player, period.
watching some females that are alot taller and some are alot shorter makes it look funny..it kind of looks unnatural..in mens basketball thats normal but it just looks weird in female basketball.
