Muppet Vision 3D Preshow | Walt Disney World | Hollywood Studios | Muppet Prop Shop | 4K No Bounce

- Jim Henson’s Muppet Vision 3D opened at Walt Disney Word’s MGM Studios on May 16, 1991, the one-year anniversary of Jim Henson’s passing. The film and pre-show were filmed in January of 1990, making Muppet Vision 3D one of the last muppets projects Jim Henson was directly involved in. Muppet Vision 3D and the Muppet Theater were both part of the proposed MuppetLand expansion to Disney MGM Studios, now Hollywood Studios, that never happened. The Pre-show is as quotable and memorable as the attraction, located inside the prop warehouse, an experience all its own. Don’t miss the 2D Fruit Ds, a-netful-of-jello, or the Jim Henson Muppet Portrait in the rafters above. With Quotes like, Debbie was sick, wh - the union sent me, What Foolishness would you like, or Rat Schm’at. The pre-show is worth the time, start to finish. After all, Scooter is just trying to prepare for the big show but keeps getting interrupted.

This is still Disney’s best preshow
I don't know why, but the way Fozzie says "You're not a penguin, you're a chicken", I chuckle every time.
Best pre-show ever! Behind it is Shrek 4-D.
I've got Donald Duck back here. Hahahha. I absolutely love gonzo and rizzo.
Me too they're such an underrated duo
12:05 Is my all-time favorite part: Rizzo pretending to be Mickey Mouse, expecting tourists to not see the difference.
That’s my favorite too! 😂
Will you stop this foolishness
"Will you stop this foolishness?"
"What foolishness would you like to see?"
"WILL YOU GET OUT OF HERE!?!"
I love that part! 😂
What now!?
Uh, we’re almost ready, Sam.
So I’m in the Emporium just past midnight after my first MNSSHP. Some park guests have a Halloween costume but usually it’s obvious from afar. But my eye catches a t shirt with writing on it that some guy is wearing. I am compelled to read it.
It says “DEBBIE WAS SICK SO THE UNION SENT ME’ 😂
I was already amused. But the guy pointed out the two ladies accompanying him. Each of the three people had a “Hello my name is” sticker. One said “Dinah”, one said “Dorothy”, and lastly was “Max” 😂😂
That was the foolishness I wanted to see! 😂😂😂
Truly, a glorious 3 hour finale, compressed into a minute and a half.
Love that
The segment with the construction workers was brilliant. LOL
Up chuck….
@@SamsDisneyDiary haha upchuck haha
And the union bit too was funny
one of the greatest things the muppets ever did... and this is without Jim or Jerry.... crazy
What are you talking about? This was obviously one of Jim's final productions before he died he was still alive when the movie was being made and Jerry was in this too as Camilla
@@tuckerhawkey9561 the pre show was filmed after Jim’s death and Jerry had no involvement with the entire Muppet Vision project. I believe there’s an article in Jim’s Red Book that goes into more detail
@@tuckerhawkey9561it was confirmed that this was the first thing everyone shot after Jim passed. Even before the tribute special. It was at Jim’s house in NYC, and that was also the day Steve got the part of Kermit.
Nice work on the still background of the pre show room with the old footage of the Muppets getting ready backstage for the 3D/4D show.
You are incorrect about the pre-show video. We shot that at the in-house Henson studio in NY many months after the 3D film was shot at the Disney studio in January 1990. Jim had already passed when we shot the pre-show video - that's why Scooter is the host, not Kermit. Steve Whitmire had not yet been chosen to perform Kermit. Frank Oz basically directed the video, although the director of record I believe is David Gumpel. After Jim died, Frank took over supervising the completion of the 3D movie project. In fact, there was a small re-shoot for the 3D movie that had to be done that included Kermit after Jim's death, and for that re-shoot, Dave Goelz puppeteered Kermit, as Steve had not yet been chosen to succeed Jim.
@@TheLyonPuppets thank you for the details. An amazing part of muppet history
Still have every single moment of this and the main show memorized, beat to beat. 😂
@@BackstageKingdom I hope they move it to Pittsburgh ;-)
@ Thinking of doing a live performance of this show with my friends after finding the transcript.
Richard Hunt’s characters Scooter and Beaker are voiced by him in this attraction. Frank Oz was the quintessential voice and puppeteer of Fozzie Bear, Miss Piggy, Animal and Sam the Eagle in this attraction.
Although Sweetums doesn’t appear in this pre show, he appears in both the 3D film and in person in the theater with a a flashlight, looking for Bean Bunny.
If Jim Henson were alive today, and if he were one of the audiences as a surprise guest, can you imagine everyone including the muppet fans' reaction like a Stan Lee cameo?
He was alive when it was made…. Would have been great
My favorite Preshow!
This Muppet Vision 3D is dedicated to the memory of Jim Henson who played Kermit, Ernie from Sesame Street, and other Muppets that he Muppeteered.
This was the last project jim Henson personally worked on.
Rizzo the Rat only appears in the pre show area of the attraction, and not in the attraction, which is a 3D film with physical 4D effects.
Do you remember the one version of this pre show which included Constantine the Frog, who is a doppelgänger of Kermit the Frog, but voiced by Matt Vogel instead of Steve Witmire, who voiced Kermit the Frog?
Not watching this whole video is distinctly un-patriotic!
😂😂
