I wish you posted this video seven years ago!! Wait, that was an EVGA 460. But, as I removed it broken from my computer, I discovered that it still had some of the film on it. I won't make that mistake again on the 1070 I am going to buy for the new build. Thanks for this video.
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤ Nice video. That card is beautiful. It happened to have one of the 1070 super clock. And I also bought for a great deal as a spare card the g. TX1660T, I, which I must say, was an excellent performer and smooth gaming. No matter what game I threw at it over a 100 frames. I'm your friend. I'm going to put the 1070 in a system and tested cause I bought it off a friend. wanna see all that runs
4:24 there's another plastic cover on the main logo you forgot to remove (you can see the corner is lifted a little). it's covered twice for some reason (I have the same card) EDIT: and also the SC logo beside that one has an extra cover, but it's a sticker so don't accidentally yank the sticker off with the cover
@@BamTechVids thanks. it turns out that the Y connector (2 six pin to 1 8 pin) that came with the nVidia just simply won't connect (on the 8 pin side) it goes half way in but will not snap all the way on. Its the strangest thing ever.
So I got a 1070 for my first build. Every component brand new. But after turning it on for the first time, nothing happens except an orange light on the 1070 turns on and stays on What could be causing this?
had to answer that without know more about your config and how you installed it. make sure your GPU drivers are properly installed would be the first step
Great video! But i have question about the quality and performance this video card this model is the cheapest among all gtx 1070 and i would like to know this video card has a weak spots????Because particularly this model of EVGA is significantly cheap than other gtx 1070 series video cards!
so u ended up returning the 1080 .. Do you think its a wise move to buy the 1070 over the 1080 considering the difference in benchmarks & not willing to play on 4k regardless the price ? i would like to know your opinion especially u got to put hands on both of them & studied them quite well. Thanks,
thanks for watching. let me point out first that because the 1080 SC that I received was faulty I didn't have a chance to use/test it. that said... for the games I play, the 1070 SC will be plenty of power. It will also work well for HTC Vive which I plan on buying at some point. I have no plans at this point to buy a 4K monitor but if that changes I can always sell the 1070 SC and move up to a Titan X. each person's requirements are different. at this point the 1070 SC is the right GPU for me.
Is the 8pin connector supposed to snap in place, I can't get mine to snap in no matter how hard I plug it in, and if I were to move the case at all the connector will fall out
Liquatic hi same problem here it just does not lock into place , it just rests loosely in the slot and does not connect . The ones that came with my power supply lock into place but of course it needs more power
mine does the same thing and won't allow the PC to boot, i keep getting a message on the screen saying that the GPU card needs to be plugged in. how did you fix it?
some people say it is.. i'm not sure I agree.. but it prob depends on your budget. the 970 SC i upgraded from handled 1080p/60 FPS just fine with most games but if you play games like Witcher or Doom and want constant 60 FPS (or higher) you might want to go with a 1070 or even a 1080.. You also have the 1060 option if you're not planning on bridging 2 cards at any point. like any PC component, you should consider your requirement before deciding on a GPU. there are plenty of benchmark/testing videos on YT to help you decide.
+BambinoGames do NOT go with the 970 for 1080p now. The better option for 1080p now is the rx480 or 1060, with the 1060 having 8% better performance. This card is great for 1440p and light 4k gaming.
Yo man, I bought this exact same card and I have a question with the installation. I too upgraded from a GTX 970 and for some reason when I try to plug in the 8 pin cord it goes in way too smoothly and feels like it doesn't go into it properly and when I take it the cord out it goes out smooth as butter and I feel this is the reason that when I try to turn it on everything starts up and the led lights up but when I plug in the HDMI I get no signal from the monitor but when I plug the 6 pins into the GTX 970 it goes in firmly and it's hard to take out and the monitor actually receives the signal
Carson Leahy I am having the same problem. The power adapter that came with the card refuses to snap into place , but the ones from my power supply fit perfectly , but of course those can't power the card without the adapter. Did you find a solution?
@@Jakesmith943 I'm having same exact problem. It will not snap into place. So im going from two 6-pin connectors on my PC's power supply to that Y cable the card came with BUT it does not snap in and the PC won't boot and says that i need the GPU plugged into power.....UGH!!!! Any luck guys???
@@harpoon_bakery162 oh my gosh, you know I cannot remember how I solved this... but the card is in my machine working fine. I'm wondering if I used one of the modular connectors that came with my power supply instead?
great vid, first unboxing where you had the disk included as I did too. also new subscriber!
thanks Howie.

does every 1070 only require ONE 8 pin power connector
The FTW edition requires two 8pin i beleive

thanks. pretty sure i removed it after filming but will go back and check.
How is your graphics card's LED lighting blue? o.O or is it just the camera?
LED is white. Blue tint is the camera.
Can you please tell me if the fans are supposed to run all the time on this Graphics card? Thank you!
Do i need to delete my old nividia drivers in order to install this one ?
Such a nice looking graphics card .. some are ugly but this is beautiful with the lights and design
The PC i'm putting the 1070 into only had two 6 pin connectors coming from the power supply. How do i get power to the unit?
Harpoon_Bakery I strongly suggest that you contact EVGA directly and make sure you are using the correct connector.

I have a question. Do I need to take precautions and install this with an anti static wrist band? It’s my first GPU installation.
it doesn't hurt to take precautions. best to follow manufacturers recommendations when installing
I’m trying to go from a 760 to the 1070 and I’m getting no signal. Not sure if I’m connecting the correct 8pin
best post this question in a PC help forum or contact nvidia
@@BamTechVids ended up sending it back and turns out it was a dud. Got a full refund. Thanks though!

Colonel Basic 8 Pin Power. Mine just came today and came with two of them.

Sargis Parunakyan the windforce OC is the cheapest 1070
i've had no issues at all with this card. it runs like a champ., Handles VR well too.
did not realize it was that easy...

I bet you forgot about the plastic coating that's on the evga emblem on the side of the card. Cus I did on mine :)

Is that all you need to do to switch a graphic card? just put it in the motherboard and go?
for Nvidia cards...make sure power is properly connected and then update the drivers.
BambinoGames Do I not need to delete my graphic drivers before switching? and then update them to the latest driver when it's plugged in?
check the manufacturer's website for your specific card. i did not remove any drivers.
Im going to switch my palit gtx 970 to the same card as you
ayy it's coming in a few hours, can't wait
having trouble downloading the drivers any advice ? try to download it with the CD
yes Nvidia's GeForce Experience software. I've never had any problems with it updating drivers.
