Say what you will about the game, but the super glitchy car chase gamemode is still some of the most fun I've ever had in videogames. It was pure chaos and I wouldn't have it any other way.
Saame, me and my friends got together and played it so often in premade lobbies. It was basically our friday tradition haha
if you liked the buggy car physics you'll love these clips /watch?v=CWaTY5ehL2s
Played the shit out of that map with friends that I played CS beta's in the early 2000's and it had the same fun vibes of something fresh (with just enough stank)
same here, such a shame it's gone. i wish i can play it again
I remember playing this game as a kid, this video was very nostalgic. I actually used to love this game so much.
Never thought T.I was that broken.
From what I heard, one influence for CS was also the original Rainbow Six novel.
So, if we want to see what CS would have been like kinda like originally envisioned back then (as by TI, ideas and visions probably have changed a bit, alongside experience), then the original Multiplayer of the first few Rainbow Six games might be the closest, even if the cooperative aspect ended up being a bigger deal until Vegas and especially Siege.
Also a potential game that could be like "intended CS" back then might probably SWAT 3 and SWAT 4, but I don't recall if they even had a multiplayer component of any kind.
Tactical Intervention would have been a perferct game if it was released in 2021
Man I used to grind T.I. in 2013/2014. Memories and met so many great people.
It could just be me but I for some reason always been seeing Insurgency as one of the spritual successor of Counter strike.
Aside from running the same engine, not really. Insurgency is more of an ARMA light.
just checked my library, 7 min played back in 2016, how awesome
Thanks so much❤ Please more videos about Tactical intervention!
You always bring cool things about CS history and development, awesome video
I genuinely miss that game. The steam generated profile pictures from the game were so good. They were goofy. Maybe it's nostalgia but the time i played i was almost always giggling.
The moral of the story never partnered with virgin korean game developers team with little experience. Pubg almost didn't survive
Never heard of it before, but it looked like it could be a fun time if they cooked properly, thanks for covering it.
there is another game that was made by Barking Dog Studio (also known as Rockstar Vancouver), which use to worked on Counter Strike in the Beta days, it's called Global Operations, the game had that counterstrike feeling to it, but there's class system like Battlefield games
Never knew about this one. I like the concept.
the car chase on the monaco night map was a blast
I remember other mod - the specialists
Is there any server still
That mod is pretty awesome. The mod version and the standalone one are good options to play. I'm sure there's some activity in that mod.
Plus, don't forget Action Half-Life 1. It's as good as The Specialist.
@@XanderNiles Action Half-Life was made in the pre-Steam era.
Bro I got so much nostalgia for this game. I was sad to go back and see it fully taken down. The car chase VIP mode went crazy when I was 9
This video is refreshing. While im no ex valve employee i can relate to the entire team of juniors making hot trash and still finding a way to get paid. I just need to get to the getting paid part.
Excellent video! If you ever decide to cover more CS inspired games, I think you should try with Urban Terror.
This is such a trip down memory lane! although it was such a buggy mess it was so much fun to play as a kid.
Playing that game in 2013 was super fun. God, can't believe it's been that long. Thankfully there are ways to keep playing it.
Yo drop the method
edward edWARD OOOOOOOOOOOOHHHHH EDWARD
I got to play this game when it was on Steam when I was around 14-15 years old. Great game! I actually enjoyed a lot. For those who have played it back then, we still got it in our libraries
Never heard of that game. Interesting
Core memory unlocked
I REMEMBER THIS, It was FUN. I forgot the name of it for a long time
I loved this game, it was so much fun.
Shoutout Anarchy clan lol. They let me and my cousin play this with them back in the day. Car chase game mode is a cult classic.
“It’s a game where you shoot each other.” -H3H3
We need to revive it !
The game was awesome. The car chases were pure adrenaline rush.
for me, its not the pro scene
its
zeusing people in office and generally trolling the enemy team.
ngl its kinda interesting
How did you play it even after it was taken down? I'd love to mess around on it again after all these years.
The only positive thing that come from this game is that you can use the weapons in Garry's Mod and they are pretty fun to use.
Wooo
Ahh Poem for Everyone's Souls😌
Oh wow. A Source Engine game I've never heard of! :0
at least something good came out of it, weapon models were reused in early versions of rust
damn i forgot about this game. I wanted to play it but always procrastinated and now it shut down...
As for current CS i really dislike the E-sport direction it took. I've always disliked esports or competitive play. It was never about fun, it was about sponsors, for the former and grinding, for the latter.
CS turned, from a multiplayer game about terrorists and soldiers, to a paintball game with military skins. It used to have a soul, it used to experiment. Now it is sterile and streamlined. It is sad but it is what brings money. I'd say there are still community servers but they were very limited in CSGO and if i'm not wrong there is none in CS2.
Honestly, as a game, it was really fun, but it was released and then everyone forgot about it, keep in mind it has no marketing impact and got drowned by a swarm of shovelware and AAA noise, player count dipped hard and...then it just stopped being fun
you can still have fun in CS2 if you're not overwhelmed by "not to lose" ego (let alone cheaters in high elo) or just play community server
it still need 3rd party community server sites so you can find some and have some fun
Interesting how different perspectives can be. I love the competitiveness of cs. Way more fun to me than if it would be casual and without ranks. But complete opposite for cod in my opinion
I don't understand all these online games permanently shutting down. It's really not that expensive to pay for hosting a masterserver, which just shows existing community-hosted servers in the game, especially when your game's player-count is super low. The community can handle the dedicated servers themselves, like they do in many old games. Hell, many of the online games I play are just community-hosted, on some dude's PC. This is what happens when you build your game around microtransactions and take away control from players. I host servers myself as well, for free. There's no excuse for a complete shutdown. Let the fans handle it at least.
so sad..gaming was something to chill with friends, nowday its grind, micro transactions, good gaming gear..and still something miss..back in days not so long ago it was all pure and gold
@@sheltergaus9163 Yep. There are still decent multiplayer games, but having some control over their lifespan is far from the norm. Back then (feels like I'm taking about 50 years ago lol) we had mods, dedicated servers, custom maps, custom scripts, bots, expansions, and so on. Now we have always online as a requirement, microtransactions, intrusive anti-cheat, and a shit ton of tiny separate DLCs. And... everything is ultra competitive and as non-offensive as possible. Again, I'm generalizing, as there are always exceptions, but overall it feels like we're going in the wrong direction with gaming in general.
was not expecting persona music in a video like this at all
Yooo i fragged a dev in ti once
I'm just going to say it: If a Korean makes a successful FPS game, it can only have been a happy accident.
it's a shame this game was slagged so much, it's fun as hell. games should look like games, you can totally put up with the jank. now, the monetization, that was crap.
i played this game when it came out cause it was free 😅
my only memory of this game is watching some cheaters grief the half dead servers way back during its "peak" on youtube
CS meaning?fire gun enemy kill die enemy defuse boom boom or boom boom you plant boom boom in site
"what is the game"
- a tactical first person shooter
- YOU'RE WROOOONG, it's actually a tactical first person shooter
hmm. Taken how successful his Counter Strike was. I guess its just a matter of changing the business model. Just make the game free, offer moding and let the people help out. Forget about capitalism. He has put in a lot of effort to the assets and all, but seems like he had to teach others instead. I mean sometimes this works out better. You get exposure and you are able to navigate around your product. Lets say host events instead. Build a community around it and then get sponsor instead. I am not saying it would be a business model. But the way I develop my software is to make it as optimized and solid as possible. And heck, why not build a single player experience with these assets as a side gig. A good story sells. Take blockbuster movies such as back to the future or police academy, extremely different movies but what do they share in common? Charisma, attitude and a very engaging narrative.
Pls talk about sfg 2 the most cs clone and standoff
There are countless of mobile knockoffs. It's a big rabbit hole of a topic.
Never even heard about this game what the???
It looks like a bloody Gmod or CSS sourcemod server at times lmao
Best thing about this game were the car chaches. Junky as hell but hilarious.
EVERY DAY I PRAY FOR TACTICAL INTERVENTION 2 I MISS THIS GAME SO MUCH I NEED A NEW ONE
Never trust a gaming company from Korea when it comes to F2P and microtransaction, their P2W system is so bs compared to China or Japan. Seems Minh Le is trusting an amateurish gaming company with no experience whatsoever wich is the main reason of the game's downfall.
In his defense, that wasn't entirely common information back in the day... I think?
This issues mostly discovered after China's F2P games gained traction on Global market. Back then I was playing Korean F2P games for most times because Steam not yet gained traction in my country so the transaction was difficult.
I never heard of this game
i remember this game it was buggy but fun as hell
What's wrong with your voice?
Why do devs rush games like that? Cant they just release it when its READY? And why all the microtransactions..
The thing is they had already burned all the cash before it could be finished. So, the best course of action is to rush the development and hopefully it will be worth it. It sounds counterintuitive but it is the way it is.
16 minute :)))))

Damn, i would really like to play a full version of that game... very cool video!
You say it's over but I know of people who cracked it wide open and running their own servers for it.
A friend of mine made a funny video out of it. Don't wanna post a shady link so /watch?v=CWaTY5ehL2s
