I was only a few months old when the QE11 was opened. Mum took me down there to see the queen open this lovely hospital. Now we are left in a non useless building which they had the nerve to call it the new QE11 no beds. Urgent centre it you break a leg you are told to Stevenage now they are in trouble. Building more homes on these grounds and more in the area with no NHS services. Want to thank every member of staff who worked here they have look after my family and I good and bad times with respect. In tears watching this

My 2 sons were born at this hospital, i was a nurse there also for over 20 years, on Knebworth ward plus others, i was put onto bayford ward and thats where i stayed until 2004, looking after the elderly, and getting them ready to return home, the QE2 was like a big family we had lots of good times there and some sad ones too, Stevenage Hospital will never be as good, so goodbye QE2 hospital, there will always be a special place in my heart for you xxx Ann Carolan ex QE2 nurse,

I was born in the QE2, my children were born in the QE2 and some of my grandbabies were born there. I had been a patient several times and lost some family members there and I also worked in there and worked with the demolition and building crews from the start and then for 2 years. Hugely significant parts of my life happened on that area of land.

My ex worked there in the 90's.
Before I met her I had a huge phobia of hospitals. She slowly broke that away. All her friends worked there too and I remember them being such beautiful people.
We lived for a while in the hospital accommodation in boundary lane. Great times.
    Sad to see it's more.
