ty! Even without the bug, dmg is similar to season 6 after mid-season patch but here u have like 2/3 more multipliers and some others got also slightly buffed so ye the bug fix was a huge dmg loss
Last season I tried both and the staff was always perfoming better because of 200% for Overheating instead of 100% on offhand... nothing seems changed about that in this season so I assumed it is the same. Maybe can be comparable in dmg if u get a good flamescar with ga on "incinerate skill" and on "chance for double dmg" and you get full masterworking on those but as far as I remember it should always be worse.

Why is staff preferable over flamescar with an offhand or does it matter?

I'm building it right now... I went for this build cause I dropped gloves with ga on Incinerate early and I couldn't resist to try it xD

build is ok but this is not fun to play... i miss ball lightning and chain lightning 🥲
Then play that ? ppl are pushing up to 120 with ball lightning and lightning spear. 100+ with chain lightning.
