Particle effects, animation and color goes to MK1, but the character models in MK11 are unparalleled albeit with a lack of texture on some models creating that overly smooth look. But there’s no doubting the realism of the models themselves. I wonder if they used actual face models like they did in MK11 or if they made them from scratch (which would make a lot of sense for the disparity between quality).
for mk1, they did base some of the characters of their VA(I think), examples being Li Meri looking like her VA(Kelly Hu), and Tanyas looking like Cherise Booth(I think, not really sure abt Tanyas VA)
Mk11 has better graphics hands down.. the should’ve kept mk11 graphics with the mk1 gameplay.. mk1 is just more colourful and that’s great but not perfect.. They move two step forward and one backwards 😕
I disagree. The fidelity on the characters clothing and hair is better in mk1. Plus the stages look more visually interesting and has more detail than mk11. The lighting improved a lot plus some stages has SSR (Screen Space Reflections) like Cage Mansion which makes it so much more beautiful. I would say MK1 has better graphics

Mk11 was doing too much and it lacked the martial art's honor vibe the classic MK 1 to 3 fatalities had. It was too ridiculous even though it has some gems that should be kept. MK1 fatality designs has the same philosophy as the 90s mk games.

The animation, stages you fight in & the graphics are amazing in mk11...shame the game is a grind kind of...especially to get brutalities & intro/outros...which were beautiful to look at...they really made you work for it.
I feel like that’s what made it rewarding once you got it. The grind wasn’t hard but it was decent so it felt good to collect all intros/ outros and brutalities
I strongly believe Neatherealms have already started working on MK1 right after the launch of MK11. There are a lot of similarities between the two, the most peculiar was the height and body size of all characters are mostly the same.
I wish they made the fatalities less cartoonish fro MK1. For example, not being able to pull out someones heart of spinal column with such ease. They should work for it a bit! Make it feel a bit more visceral and meaty- not like people are made of cake.
I think it's cause people complained that they were too long. But I get why it's different for another reason. Unlike mk11 mk1 isn't themed around time, so there's no pause mid fatality. I think they're good. But I know that there's going to be better fatalities. We've only seen 1 for each playable character which was only 4. And we can't deny the fact that Liu Kang's fatal is God tier. It's probably the best out of all his recent ones
I think the fatality is shorter for better pacing, long fatality made people eventually just skipped them over time anyway. I hope the story is long and interesting though.
Honestly there isn't much of a graphics upgrade b/w 11 and 1 which was expected 🤔 ... But it looks different. And 1 looks more like a advanced 3D animation type which comes for movies and 11 looks more realistic that is all 🧐

Like if they had a better team in mk11, doesnt meter if in mk1 is unreal 5, becouse the artist is more important than the tool always. And it seems like the artists responsible for the characters modeling, and also the facial expression team, may be diferen than in mk 11. So for me the only point mk 1 does look clearly better than in mk11 is the lighting, everything is more clear and defined now, but if you were to take the charcter models from mk 11 and put in mk 1 then you would see that mk 11 character is actually better, specially in the same lighting condition. Not saying mk1 looks bad, mad the models look 1% worst, at least.

Honestly, the graphics look better on mk1. However, it's WAY more colorful than mk11, which gives it a more catoony look. Don't know why they felt the need to deviate from the darks and neutrals that mk11 had.

Quite Honestly, I am not feeling Mk1 - its TOO bright, TOO clean which makes the overall game look GENERIC... The graphics in MK11 are just as good as Mk1. Fatalities/Brutalities in Mk11 are "FATAL and BRUTAL"... but MK1 they toned it down. MKX set the overall standard in the Series. MKX has the best fighting gameplay, fight animations and best game design. MKX is the best followed by MK9, MK11. We have to wait and see where MK1 will place on the list, if at all.

MK 11 hit notes so high that I cant say 1 is much better other than some graphical enhancements. Looks great but nothing about it hits as hard. They better keep some of the actors they brought in for 11 and get the actual voices for Terminator
you guys have to understand that there is a limit to how realistic you can make a game. Mk11 already hit the peak graphics comparable to real life now how are they supposed to further improve it when the highest ceiling has been hit we dont know what is better than the real life itself i would say now the games have reached the peak in graphics what can now only be innovated is the gameplay, story or character designs nothing else

At least its better than street fighter or tekken where most of the caharcter models, clothes or gameplay mechanics have not been expanded or reimagined for every new game's release meanwhile mk has build every single aspect of game up from ground differently for each game since mk9
They could improve it by retaining the graphics of mk11 hut just adding a little bit more details on the skins, shadows, environments etc. Only changing the clothes, character faces. Now in terms of the overall game I love that the crushing blows are now gone the air kombos don't require meters anymore but they could add some more klasik characters to unlock for a comeback. The stages look too cartoonish they could've retained the same graphics engine on the mk11 but just overall change the stages look possibly add some more detail to it. If they only combined the fun of mk1 and the graphics of mk11 it would have been the perfect game but I think they would do it on the next mk.

What made MK stand out from all the other games was the realism feel even from the original MK those models were from actual people so it had a realism feel to it now it seems like they care less about the graphics and are going for a fortnight toony look Smh I have no complaints about mk 11 graphics gameplay graphics were off the chart but the cutscenes looked toony now the gameplay and cut scenes look toony
Mk11 seems to have more fine details on hair, skin, cloth-material and the like, which is a shame. MK1 still looks gorgeous tho, especially the stages, with the multi-layer backdrops.
Why when you compared the character models, you compared Revenant Liu Kang from MK11 to Fire God Liu Kang in MK1? Why not use Fire God Liu Kang from MK11 to compare with Fire God Liu Kang from MK1?
Mortal Kombat 1 looks good. But don't compare it to 11. Then it looks bad. It feels rushed now that launch is uping us. Imo. I mean characters and menues looked better in 11. Fatalities were cooler. The only thing that sucked was gameplay. Which 1 improves massively and the Kameo system is fun, albeit locked behind story and crap. But characters still lack a lot, only have a few strings and really rely almost too heavy on the gimmick once again. Don't get me wrong, Mortal Kombat 1 is great. But it's not as polished as say sf 6, that launched with a balanced roster, a better training mode, better combo trials, proper tutorials for everyone on the roster, and just generally a better core mechanic and better polish. The one thing nrs always does better than their competition though, is the story.

MK 11 has better character design
How is it the same game that’s 5 years older looks better with better detailed characters ? It really is true western gaming doesn’t make beautiful or sexy female characters anymore.
The fact that they STILL HAVENT brought back “konquest mode” is CRAZY🙄 IT WAS THE BEST PART ON THE GAME. They need to bring it back ASAP

MK 11 hit notes so high that I cant say 1 is much better other than some graphical enhancements. Looks great but nothing about it hits as hard. They better keep some of the actors they brought in for 11 and get the actual voices for Terminator
Yeah they kept the same voice actors except for Shang tsung I think, and terminator will not be in mk1

Both are good but scorpion in mk 1 look like shit in my opinion mk 11 have better character model. But the best mk for me always be a mkx

this new announcer sounds... so sinister. announcer is always authoritative but this mk1 announcer sounds like he's ENJOYING it
you guys have to understand that there is a limit to how realistic you can make a game. Mk11 already hit the peak graphics comparable to real life now how are they supposed to further improve it when the highest ceiling has been hit we dont know what is better than the real life itself i would say now the games have reached the peak in graphics what can now only be innovated is the gameplay, story or character designs nothing else
Actually they could have easily improved it ...or at least make it look like the trailer but instead they gave us injustice 2 format in mk skin...
@@Sansastories i believe they have reached a conclusion that this level of graphics is enough for the average player to be impressed and now they will focus on adding more features and reinventing the combat system. At least its better than street fighter or tekken where most of the caharcter models, clothes or gameplay mechanics have not been expanded or reimagined for every new game's release meanwhile mk has build every single aspect of game up from ground differently for each game since mk9
They could improve it by retaining the graphics of mk11 hut just adding a little bit more details on the skins, shadows, environments etc. Only changing the clothes, character faces. Now in terms of the overall game I love that the crushing blows are now gone the air kombos don't require meters anymore but they could add some more klasik characters to unlock for a comeback. The stages look too cartoonish they could've retained the same graphics engine on the mk11 but just overall change the stages look possibly add some more detail to it. If they only combined the fun of mk1 and the graphics of mk11 it would have been the perfect game but I think they would do it on the next mk.
@@BLAKEEATS1988 You are right and I also think we should have gotten better given this is the longest we've had to wait for a game from NRS. Usually there is a 2 year gap but this one had 4 years so people were naturally expecting a lot from grpahical improvement
They haven't hit the ceiling at all. Look at unreal engine 5 animation/gameplay.

@@blueshot333 actially ı dont care about realism. but reailsm is the thing of mortal kombat series. Real mortal kombat 1 (1992) was the first realistic looking fighting game. So this is why people have this expectation from mortal kombat. If street fighter or tekken would be cartoon like it's okey. But for mk series I m sorry :)
@@furkanaslan600 so far the looks of it, it seems that mk is going for more in a "cartoon-ish" aspect if you noticed that mk1's face models looks less real compared to mk11's plus they even added a cartoon character for Kombat pack1.

What made MK stand out from all the other games was the realism feel even from the original MK those models were from actual people so it had a realism feel to it now it seems like they care less about the graphics and are going for a fortnight toony look Smh I have no complaints about mk 11 graphics gameplay graphics were off the chart but the cutscenes looked toony now the gameplay and cut scenes look toony
Mk11 seems to have more fine details on hair, skin, cloth-material and the like, which is a shame. MK1 still looks gorgeous tho, especially the stages, with the multi-layer backdrops.
So everyone got domestic issues in these clips.😂😂

Why when you compared the character models, you compared Revenant Liu Kang from MK11 to Fire God Liu Kang in MK1? Why not use Fire God Liu Kang from MK11 to compare with Fire God Liu Kang from MK1?

Mortal Kombat 1 looks good. But don't compare it to 11. Then it looks bad. It feels rushed now that launch is uping us. Imo. I mean characters and menues looked better in 11. Fatalities were cooler. The only thing that sucked was gameplay. Which 1 improves massively and the Kameo system is fun, albeit locked behind story and crap. But characters still lack a lot, only have a few strings and really rely almost too heavy on the gimmick once again. Don't get me wrong, Mortal Kombat 1 is great. But it's not as polished as say sf 6, that launched with a balanced roster, a better training mode, better combo trials, proper tutorials for everyone on the roster, and just generally a better core mechanic and better polish. The one thing nrs always does better than their competition though, is the story.
