- From 1974 to 2000, Canada’s Brian Linehan conducted thousands of in-depth interviews with the greatest actors and directors from over 60 years of film history. His programs City Lights and Linehan have not been seen since they first aired and are now available for the first time for licensing. Linehan, a stylishly gifted broadcaster, meticulously did all his own research and that, coupled with his knowledge and passion about film and film-making, puts him in a class all by himself.
With 20,000 hours of music footage spanning 90 years and thousands of hours of in-depth interviews with the 20th century’s icons of Film and Television, Politics, Comedy, Literature, Art, Science, Fashion and Sports, Reelin’ In The Years Productions is now the World’s Premier Source For Footage Of Musical Artists, Entertainers & History Makers.

Brian Linehan, who passed away in 2004, left his entire estate to The Brian Linehan Charitable Foundation to provide training, work opportunities and promotion for young actors of exceptional talent. All of the income of his Foundation is donated to not-for-profit institutions for that purpose. In the decade since his death, recipients of the Foundation’s support have included extraordinary young actors affiliated with the Canadian Film Centre, The National Screen Institute of Canada, the Stratford Shakespearean Festival and the Toronto International Film Festival, which, since Brian's passing, has preserved and housed Brian's personal archive and tape library. - Розваги
Larry Saunders
“You’re not stalking me, are you?”
That was the funniest line.
Garry showing his true brilliance here!! 🤩😍
This might be my favorite shandling appearence in anything. Watching the his poker face slowly fade away to where he eventually just says it.
Absolutely hilarious
Came for the music; stayed for the interview.
Linehan was always looking for validation by impressing the guests with all the background work he's done on their lives. Garry was an incredibly insightful person when it came to human dynamics - it's what makes Larry Sanders so perfectly well observed - and you can see see that he has Linehan clocked for the (harmless) weirdo that he is. Shandling uses his discomfort to make the situation funny.
That's one way to interpret it. Another is that Garry admits to using comedy to cloak his insecurities and when Brian gets him to drop his guard and be sincere it frightens Garry back into joking and when that doesn't stop Brian from keeping it real Garry begins stumbling in his speech and then lashing out. He may be projecting his insincerity onto Brian who is well known for being well intended and well informed.
Gary is so great. I just love the guy.
"Did you read for 'City Slickers'?" 🤣😂😁
honestly it’s a great interview albeit awkward but sincere
Awkward is an understatement! That guy is REALLY bizarre.
This could be a scene from The Larry Sanders Show....Hilarious..!!
Beatty's on the last epi of Larry Sanders & he's bitterly refusing to be involved w/his request & drives away.
He toured w/D.Miller & it was a perfect fit. He just said he was uncomfortable about this guy. Maybe it's his expressions plus Martin Short used a character name: Brock Linihan or something else like that guy's name.
A superb use of 15 minutes, watching this. Garry turns promo into psychoanalysis, as usual. 😂
If I close my eyes, it's Billy Crystal speaking...
7:10
Looks like Shandling is extremely tired.
Linehan had to do all his research before there was internet.
That comment about getting naked was a little weird though.
It was a joke.
They’re both characters.
6:30... watch the body language... Garry cant even look at this guy or he is going to start laughing.. You can see his mind working for all the jokes he wants to tell on this guy.
Brian Linehan creeps me out
Martin Short used to make fun of him on SCTV as "Brock Linehan"
@KIKO1 Didn’t expect to see you here
I can hardly believe Gary hung in there for this interview. Definitely could have walked out on this weirdo.
What did Brian Linehan do that was weird?
Your the weirdo
@@rachybaby72 I think people are just homophobic. Feels like Scott Thompson's TLSS character a bit.
Gary left.
Garry, however, stayed for the whole interview.
@@pyeriotsquad 😁😂👍
Linehan is so grimly earnest and humourless. He cannot understand Shandling. They don't connect here.
They connected extremely well actually? Maybe youre on the wrong wavelength for it.
Garry had Brian figured out and it made him uncomfortable
Other way around
Linehan should have asked him how it felt to get used and dumped by Linda Doucette.
Did you see her interview in the Apatow documentary? Absolutely insufferable. As tragic as Shandling's death was, at least he lived the last 20 years of his life in peace, away from her.
