It's very rare that a takedown model is as good as the top-end version. It's even more rare when a takedown model is better than the top-end version. This just might be one of those times.
In today's video we take a closer look at the new 2023 Puma Future Pro, the first takedown model below the $220 Future Ultimate, retailing for $140. While that's not particularly cheap, what you get at a mid-level price point is just as much as you'd get from football boots retailing for twice as much! Meanwhile Adidas boots fall apart sooner than every other brand, indicating that they're cutting overhead costs on material quality and construction, but continue targeting the same price-points as Nike. 🤨

@@CognizantCheddarin my opinion the high end speed category for adidas always last long. I had a speed flow pair that lasted more than a year despite being too big and I recently bought a crazy fast that is holding up pretty good so far, no tears at all
Puma's really good at making the value option lol. Their high end versions are really great boots and undercuts the same tier boots from other brands, and their takedowns are also very very good

I just got those with MG sole plate and I am amazed!!.. the most comfortable and the lightest feeling boots I ever got and I have a few top tier boots in my bag like laceless leather Copas from 2019, Messis' Nemezis torsion tape boots, leather Tiempos from few years back, Copa Mundials (turf).. I decided to stick with leather boots in last few years but even though I badly wanted to buy the new Copa 8:02 Pure, I really needed to switch to true AG sole plate and unfortunately Addidas doesn't offer it. I decided to get these Pumas thanks to soccer reviews for you, and I love those!!! I did not know that synthetic boots could be that comfortable!

Do some turf model comparisons
Round studs last longer on AG field. The blade studs perform better, but not durable on AG field. -Based on my experience.
Even the plays(the ones i have) are better than most of the budget options and comparable to the pros and ultimates

do you have the fg/ag model? Because I am wondering if you have good grip with the sole on low artificial grass?
@@paul_k9252 buy MG if you're playing on low AG fields. They have shorter (and more) studs. The "AG" in FG/AG is probably only meant for the latest generation of professional artificial pitches, or just plain marketing/sales point. It's just an FG boot.
I use 1.4 MG on shallow artificial grass (not turf), and the grip is excellent, and no pain whatsoever
How is it holding after 7 months?
@@pemadamdul I dropped them for the MIJ Alpha, so I didn’t use them for maybe 5 months out of 7. The upper is still comfortable, minor sole-separation is beginning to occur, the PWRtape is starting to detach in some areas on both boots. I mostly just practiced in them on AG, which I don’t recommend using them on, and only played a handful of games in them. Overall, I’d say durability is average for a major brand. I strongly suggest getting the MG variant if you play on AG, because they are really aggressive and using the FG version on AG really harms the durability.
@@JannyLWThanks for the tips! My Puma Future NetFit 5.1 is completely falling apart after 3 years. And new MIJ Neo 3 Beta just arrived. It's a little tight for my wide feet, may be need some time to break in. Couldn't find Neo 3 standard or Alpha here in Canada. So, I'm looking for alternative. I play on natural grass every Sunday and on AG once a month. I'm worried about the durability of Puma Future Ultimate after looking at the reviews. May be I should stick to MIJ? Cheers!

Future are more comfortable. ultra is thinner, but feels more like rubber.
I bought both with the intention of sending one back - IMO the fit and lockdown on the Pro version is nowhere near as good as the expensive ones.
You could try spme lace tricks such as the runners loop to help out with that, but ofc there has to be some reason for puma to make one version £80 less
i have the z1.4 & the pro. Z1.4 i enjoy more & can wear true to size. Pro i had to go half size down.
Z1.4 already ran a bit long but w/double socks (my preferred) they’re great. Pro was just a bit longer but got a weird wrinkle in the toebox when I ran. Half size down is good but can’t double sock & harder to get proper lockdown. Not sure if just the newer upper style or what but i find heel slipping & getting sore.

I bought these on Tuesday on your advice, received them today and had a shot of them later this evening, I'm used to mercurials and fancied a change, they felt totally different, wide at the toe box, might take a bit of time getting used to them, I enjoyed them though

Definitely mate, my mercs always cut up my toes (always keep my toenails short btw), covered in blood after games they where so tight, with these there is so much more freedom, you don't feel as suffocated in them, I've noticed as well that they are few people wear them, all are on the new nikes or preds so a bit of individuality there as well

These ones. It’s a huge upgrade and it’s one of the most comfortable boots in the planet at this time.
Here's me still thinking my Future Z 1.4s fit, feel, and play better than the Future Ultimates (or Future Pros).
The internal liner for the 1.4s is heaven on foot. Nothing else like it in the market over the last couple of years. Future Ultimates went with a thinner lining. Which isn't bad. Just isn't quite as comfortable.
I LOVE my Future Z 1.3’s. The only complaint I have is the studs are quite long for harder surfaces. I’m on the hunt for the 1.4 in HG from Japan. It’s almost like a Tiempo stud pattern.

I've tried them both. And honestly it's close. I guess I'd say the accuracy are a touch wider, but the futures are also wide.

Puma is not for FootBall boots.
I don't see Granit Xhaka scoring long range screamer anymore after switching to Puma. His shooting becomes weak. Zinchenko has started wearing the new Puma King so let's see how he performs onwards.
If you still believe football boots affects how good or bad someone plays, you've got to let that belief go.
Not sure if you're using sarcasm but football boots are only for comfort and nothing more. Messi could give you his most expensive boots and still outplays you with running shoes ;)

If I were you I would definitely go for the pros. Save $50 and get pretty much the same cleats.
Nah get ultimates if u get a discount the higher end model is definitely more worth it visually aswell as performance
You get a slightly better discount with the Ultimates
WARNING TO ANYBODY CONSIDERING PUMA BOOTS: They fit amazing & perform very well, but the durability is severely lacking. I got a pair of Puma ultra 1.1 and the soles were completely unstuck after 15 wears. NOT ONLY THAT, but Puma also refused to offer a replacement pair or issue a refund.
edit: Forgot to mention but I spoke with friends and apparently this was a widespread problem with puma boots
What surface were you playing on with the Ultras?
ive been playing on natural grass with my fg/ag puma ultra 1.4 and have easily put over 300 hours in 4 months and they look good as new when i clean them, maybe just a older model issue or sum
