I'm pretty sure with "there are only monsters" Ciri referred to the villagers themselves because they killed the girl out of their superstition. You can see the knife that is in her chest was earlier on the belt of the one villager who is trying to stop Ciri from going after the girl. It's a callback to the Witcher 3 trailer "Killing Monsters" where the monsters in the end are the humans.
Couple things that idk if you noticed or not but I feel like theyre gorgeous touches from CDPR that I hope they expand on. 4:06 - her fighting style is a lot like Geralt's as well... here you can see that aerial spin attack that all of us W3 fans would be extremely familiar with. The other thing is that it seems like the studio is taking a realistic approach to the struggles Ciri would face being a female Witcher. At multiple points in the fight she struggles physically, struggles to get her sword free when the monster pins it, the second limb takes 3 attacks to hack off because she didnt have the same momentum as she did the 1st limb, 2 hacks for the decapitation... I love this because A) I feel it makes the combat more gritty and brutal and B) could also be hinting at the possibility of them expanding on her being able to have multiple playstyles... maybe we can have a playthrough thats mainly agility build since her speed and agility have always been her biggest strengths, one thats centered around her magic, and another that focuses on improving her physical strength for a more traditional Witcher-style hack-n-slash... I know people ran different "builds" during W3 but it always felt that system was nowhere near what it could have been. Im very excited to see more and learn about CDPR's vision for this game, I think its going to be a masterpiece.
From what I read from an interview with someone from CDPR. The Witcher 4 will have options the same as the Witcher 3. You'll have choices to save or let them die. It will be interesting to see how this plays out
