FINAL NOTE:
i finished the boss fight for myself, and i am changing my score to a 6/10. the boss fight was so tedious with the RNG, and the hidden house search as boring asf. as well, why are there no documents? i feel like they should have added collectibles to expand on the lore, there were a few of them in the original games. i think the game is fun if you remove the convoluted lore aspects (which i thought were set up nicely on jealousy chapter 1) out of your mind, and focus on the funny gameplay itself. if you play it with friends, it should give you 2 hours of fun.
Which chapter do you think is the best and has the best objectives?
I agree that the lore was quite lackluster. The chapter focused more on story and gameplay rather than lore which (at least in my opinion) is quite nice.
I guess it was more just on you getting out of hell and just a bit or lore on senzai
striped monster man is our brother and the weird strict dad part is supposed to be from the brothers perspective and isamu (the main character we play as) is the younger brother

They don’t copy, for example people say mimic copied the seek chase with other chases but they had chases before doors got popular
first of all, yurei was such an OP boss and second, the shinigami chase literally made me have to restart the entire chapter

it's unfortunate because Yurei was originally going to show up more and be more important in chapter but instead her roaming areas got replaced by those hidden object minigames which is very disappointing in my opinion... (especially since shes such a cool idea but instead the only time you really get to see her is her basic design instead of the one with the dress made of heads and arms)
Wait,so she used to roam around the map trying to look for us while we hide and do tasks?

In discord, there were leaks of a blue lit area with the tall dress arm lady, I think they delayed it in December (when they said it was 100% done) to remodel her design and map, that’s the common case for delays (like book 2 chapter 1 when they remodeled Rin 3 times)
(Side note: sometimes the arm dress lady can be seen as a jump-scare for a split second in the flower forest)

for some reason when i saw her bossfight/went to it for the first time i immediately became a huge fan of her and thinking of changing my pfp to her(i also hope she gets added in yokai)
I played this chapter and i have to say the place with the statues and the house part was really underwhelming everything else was really good the chase sequences were also kinda hard really enjoyable also ive never viewed mimic as a horror game honestly but i always liked it

And the thing I dislike most in book 2 in general is every chapter is over packed with random stuff instead of the actual story, I mean I guess we got some context on what’s happening in this chapter but there’s no reason we had to wait 3 and a half chapters for it, the chapters are also too long and get really tedious
book 2 has better storytelling than book 1 did keep in mind book1 never had a story until chapter 3

The 2nd chase made me so confused, I found a giant door, that led me out of the map..
the game was fun, but there was a few things that my friend and i kept getting frozen screens or glitched.

@@purple7056Rin and Mio's house isnt a maze, it's just a house with rooms, because mazes dont have stairs or recognisable rooms. The meat "maze" is not a maze either, its again just a map that shouldnt even be considered a maze in the first place because it has nothing of a maze's nature. The bells part can be considered a grid or maze, but mostly a grid considering it has none of a maze's usual features either. The only maze (that is barely a maze at all) in the Jealousy Book was the grin demon part. So I wouldn't consider one maze in a whole 3 chapters a lot at all. A maze in its nature is a labyrinth of the same walls and if there is small rooms, they'll all be the same too to confuse the person exploring it.
I think the maps designs are good, but some of the monster models are not it for me. For example, the Isamu monster. It looks too modern for a Japanese ancient style horror game. But honestly the chapter was kinda worth it.
I mean, it wouldn't really make sense if Isamu's monster design resembled an actual ancient yokai, because he's from modern times
like how the models were surreal and weird. Kind of something japanese

Shaku's hospital is very modern looking
Sama is wearing modern clothing in b1c2 (and according to the old lore, she was wearing it in ancient Japan too lol)
Daku is wearing a suit .. etc
Still, I (kinda) understand where you're coming from. Book 2 is way better with Japanese style architecture and character design in comparison to book 1, but they could still do better.

imo, the torch was really easy to figure out, but I do agree with the boss, mimic should make bosses more rarer, as they are all just w and shift no mehcanics
Nah I think the chapter was pretty much perfect besides the boss, no way did it fall off when it reached over 65k players with chapter 3

the lore in book 2 is so bad i dont even know what are we doing in this book like, how enzukai got released in chapter 1, why are we fighting these monsters but enzukai, and how did enzukai change his form into a 3 faced monsters, like theres an empty space with the lore especially enzukai, no hate tho i love the mimic so much, but they shouldve done something with the lore so its not confusing for ppl that are playing it, i really hope they'll improve the lore and the gameplay and not overusing 1 mechanic in the next book, rebirth/ book 3. dont get me wrong, book 2 is good, but sometimes its just feel too repetitive and no lore explanation at all like we are playing intense horror game without build up story where thats the point of horror game
