I visited Sibu a few years ago. The city looks very striking in Chinese culture and is multicultural. The people there are friendly and kind, I have a close friend (now a member of the Malaysian army) he is an Iban who converts to Islam. Until now we still communicate well Greetings from Jakarta, Indonesia.
Naomi, not sure if anyone commented this. At 12:05 the BBQ pork vendor was mesmerized by your beautiful eyes, he said in Chinese "Wow her eyes are so beautiful" in a flattering manner :)
Hello Naomi & Luke! Hope you guys are very well, I'm Sibu, I mean my name is Sibu lol .. I'm from India, I just wanted to type my name on Google and then I came to know that Sibu is a small city in Malaysia and then I got acquainted with you both on your video, yes when you said 'Sibu' I thought you know me so well.. I liked the attitude of both of you. Keep it up :)
Which night market is that? Is it somewhere behind Tanahmas Hotel? The one I remember has more crowd... 5:47 By the way... Sarawakians speak different Malay dialects. The First Division Malay dialect is the more popularly known. The northwestern most part of Sarawak (Miri-Limbang-Lawas) speaks a heavily Bruneian+Kadayan version of Malay dialect. But most Sarawakians do speak the standard version. 9:46 Our guide to Bako last year spoke a tiny bit of German too! We had a couple from Belgium with us on the tour. Love your night market adventure!
I love the night market. 1. Food 2. More food 3. Even more food 4. My grandmother works there 2:37 THAT WAS MY AUNT'S TENT- Also tomorrow at somewhere like 6:00 p.m. at Parkson, my brother will be performing wushu there
From sibu right here: thanks alot for coming to our town although it is small so really happy theres tourists coming in,nice video! You should go to the borneo festival happening these few days .
Heyyyy hope you guys are still around now, there the borneo cultural festival going on now. Lots of food and this weekend there's an arts event at Sibu heritage centre. Thanks for visiting us! -tim
Glad that you guys made it in time for the Borneo Cultural Festival - BCF. While in Sarawak try to get three layer ice tea instead of regular iced tea. When attending the BCF try the chicken pansuh - traditional chicken cooked in bamboo and the booze is cheap in Sarawak at streets stall or roadside cafe
Do enjoy the rest of Sarawak . I also love to travel but since i am currently with reduced mobility due to health after infected with covid, can only visited 1/3 of the places in my bucket list. Cheers
Night market in Sibu is where my family used to visit every Saturday night when I was a kid in 80s-90s. The food during that time was very cheap so we can buy lots of foods.

Hey Noami, in case someone haven't answered you what's "kaw" meant when you were buying Ice Tea. 'Kaw' means thick. Like espresso = thick coffee 🤣. And yes, soy milk is called susu soya. Nice one! 😁
Malaysia Indonesia is very close together. Maysian people are not friendly to foreigners. Indonesians really respect foreigners or visiting people. Indonesians are friendly and smiling. 😊
Welcome to Sarawak to both of you, thankyou for coming to visit us here. For your information, Sarawak will celebrate it independence day on 22 july, 2023 There will be a concert at padang merdeka evening time & fire work On 29 july, decoratives boats alongside sarawak river at sarawak waterfront. 5th august, Street Parade in Kuching. Foreigners find it hard to learn the Malay language because everyone can speaks English. In other countries you need to learn their language in order to communicate.

"Less than 2 euros for all of it" thank you, coming over there with my 2 euros. At least i can afford that much.
Foreigners find it hard to learn the Malay language because everyone can speaks English. In other countries you need to learn their language in order to communicate.
the average former British colony can speak English btw, not only in Malaysia
Sibu only has one problem...Slow economic development. But overall is good.
You look neat Naomi. The night market don't seem to look busy...🤔
Roast pork now is pricey in Malaysia.... Short of pig farm.. 😂
Gi mampus
Selling roasted pork at night is strange for me
😂nothing strange for Sarawak selling roasted pork & beer at Pasar Malam.
Non Muslims eat pork and drink beer and karaoke before go home and sleep 🎤🍻🐷🤘🤣
This is one of the most unique place in Sarawak, not only the normal pork belly, you can find the whole roasted head of the pig sold as well as well.
So quiet. How to make money for traders
Yes true
Try the syobi that the best dim sum at sibu only can found at sibu 🫰🫰❤️🥰
Ohh thank you ❤️❤️
