It's a matter of identity for the Kusasi's. How is that difficult to understand. How many Paramount cheifs will the Mumprusi's have in Ghana? And who then rules the Kusasi's?

    • @yussifsalis2417

This shows you dont even know what you are talking about. Are the Mamprusis ruling over the kusasis now? The answer is no. It used to be so many years ago but not now, because the kusasis created a new so called kusaug traditional area and now have a paramount chief who rules over them. He says he is zugran and Mamprusis did not fire guns we went to the court. The Mamprusis on the other hand did not enskin someone to rule over Kusasis, they simply enskinned Bawku Naaba. Since when did Bawku naaba and Zugraan become one and the same. They dont have similar roles, neither would they have overlapping roles, so what at all is your problem. Mamprusis have been chiefs in bawku for 300 years before the whiteman came. We are never alien to bawku and you know that, unless you want to be mischievous. From the naming of the place to everything about bawku to Pusiga. You know the truth. Let us not make enemies of ourselves. We are so much for peace as much as we are ever ready for anything. Lets come together and forge ahead for peace rather than fighting there can be compromise on both sides and we can move forward. Nobody wants this.

@@yussifsalis2417what are you talking about? You lived in the Bawku enclave as men alone? My research was in that area. The Mamprusis had mo women in Bawku so how were you living in Bawku without women? Explain for me to add to my research! So you were living in Bawku for 300 years and own just that small portion by the hospital.

@majestica2474 I am finding it hard understanding you. If you can come again... I am happy with the discussion, no insults or foul words. This is what we need. We are one people. Lets dialogue and bring the matter to conclusion. Its not right killing each other. Love

@@yussifsalis2417 300 years is not a long time Yussif, the trans Saharan trade started centuries ago before that. The white people were in Ghana since the 14th century dealing in gold and salt. The Salaga post was established already. Your people were already buying and selling along the Kusasi stretch of settlements. The Kusasis were living in clans. They were not organized under a chief. According to to research, the Mamprusis had encountered the Muslim further north by trade, and converted to the religion which influenced their way of life visa vis the chieftaincy system.

@@yussifsalis2417 Also, this is a different world all together and ancient and colonial mentality is untenable in this times and would be worse off as times goes on. You and me know that the Kusasis are not going to be under the previous system of governance under the mamprusis again. This is an indisputable facts and must be considered for genuine resolutions of this conflict. Unless this is established, my brother I do not see anyway forward. When a place is invaded there are only 3 ways possible end:ms: 1:the invader absorbs the indigenous people - like the case of the US where all the Native Indians speak English and are American Indians. The natives eventually become the minority
2: The invaders are absorbed by the indigenous natives like that of the Tongo and Bongo people of the upper East region of Ghana. They get assimilated into the native’s culture and become them 3: or the indigenous people rise one day and claim their land which has been the case of all colonial rules in West Africa and recently South Africa.
There cannot be any other way around these 3 ways. Bawku falls under the third. Hopefully it resolves peacefully.

How can the settlers in a land says they rule over the natives. So one day the Zongo chief in Ashanti Region will rise up and say he is the chief of Asawase. The Mamprusi man should be humble enough to accept that it won't happen. In Ghana there is no free land. The fact that there is no settlement on it doesn't mean the land is free for whoever to take it and claim it.

It looks like the Bawku conflict is a direct picture of a future Dormaa conflict if it happens to be that the Wam people one day decided that they want their land back. I hope this doesn't happen at all at any day. Another example is the Berlin conflict which divided the city into 2 halves where one German group had to cross another country to reach their people.

Chieftancy is a big problem in GaDangme tribes as well. The the different is that the GaDangme's resort to courts rather than physical fighting. Colonization and the distruction of Africa tribes. It is sad but they should find a common ground to tone down the tention between the tribes. The ancestors has no ideal of the problems these colonizers caused them at the time they were made deals and signed treatis with them✋🏽
