My Father and his friends were members of the Jolly Boys Mining Co. Our families spent many summers up there (and even some time during the winter months) while it was a functional mining operation during the 70's and 80's. Our bonds and friendships which started there continue to this day. What a kick to see you guys diving off of that crane. Be safe and please continue to respect the land and owners. Maybe I will see y'all up there someday. 😁🙏❤️
Absolutely Crazy Nick. The story, the emotions, the jumps, the costruction of the crane, the history of that place! You can tell so much through a video! Thank you very much from the other side of the ocean!!
This place has been on my list for 7 years but somehow I've never made it out to jump. So cool to see a bit of the story behind this unique place! Great storytelling, as always
The crane was taken down again, I was there today and I stood right where it was, the parts are all under that tree at the front with the beams cut in half, I was really disappointed to see it gone again I’d love to come out with my welder and a small generator and rebuild it if I had enough help
So stoked you guys put it back! I jumped that when I was about 13 and have always wondered how high it was?? I heard Goliath was 80ft and have been told the crane is higher but it didn't feel like it.
what was it like and feel like after doing all the tricks you know, and how did you overcome whatever held you back from doing it??? Any one who knows how to do flips always amazes me specially off massive cliffs and other crazy things!!! Keep up the amazing work, you inspire me not just to jump off things but to overcome those trials that hold you back from experiencing life to the fullest!!!
Hi nick, just wondering how many miles of dirt is this road ,I have a Chevy Tahoe but not 4WD; I am thinking of hiking this road just to check it out before I bring my family. Planning a quick visit on mid September 🙏🙏 in advance nick
Can you tell me what append when you land badly (like the guy at the end) from that height. Even from 7m (20feet) it hurt so bad. Can't imagine from that height.
Los Angeles Swimming did a video called cliff jumping at "the cliffs". That's my spot. Highway 198 in central Cali heading east out of my home town Visalia into the southern entrance of Sequioa National Park. Drive 1/2 mile in park on the left then cross the road and follow the trail to the river. Best central Cali spot by far. Jolly boys is a dream jump no doubt. Is it ok to go to? Do the owners care? I live in Seattle now. Since 91'. Every time I go home I head to this cliffs. It's my favorite place to be.
@@lilbosser no,sorry I wasn't very clear. This is in northern Cali in the Sierra on the Yuba River. I was just talking about another amazing spot where I grew up and have swam at since 1986 in high school. The central fork of the Kaweah river. Check out Los Angeles Swimming and look on their videos from about 8-9 years ago. Cliff jumping at the cliffs is its title. That the spot I spent all of my summers jumping at.
I used to travel around with LA Swim a lot! Some of the guys sort of lost their passion to cliff jump/make edits so I don’t see them as much. Not ALL of them but yea their videos were an inspiration to many!
Very epic video but I’m pretty disappointed with the lack of social distancing. People all carrying the crane and grouping up on top. The sooner crap like that stops happening the sooner we can all get back to it and places can reopen again.

the one person who disliked this probably has a phobia of extremely well produced videos and cranes
It’s probably the property owner that’s pissed how many people trespass on his land.
Amazing work Nick, way to showcase such a rad experience! You just keep getting better and better as a filmmaker
Thanks for the solid words you provided to this story! Couldn’t have said it any better.
Whenever I watch this channel, I feel like I'm watching the Valley Uprising for cliff jumping. Well done as always man 🤙
This deserves to be seen worldwide. Incredible stuff guys.
Absolutely Crazy Nick. The story, the emotions, the jumps, the costruction of the crane, the history of that place! You can tell so much through a video! Thank you very much from the other side of the ocean!!

Great video gets better every time. what do you use to edit the videos?
Thank you! I use an odd combination of Adobe After Effects, Cyberlink Powerdirector and Cyberlink Colordirector.
Sooooooooo dope. Fuck yes Nick
those last wipeouts doe ouchhh
That was cool
crazy cool
Can you tell me what append when you land badly (like the guy at the end) from that height. Even from 7m (20feet) it hurt so bad. Can't imagine from that height.
Honestly I have no idea I’ve only experience one flop and it was from 35ft. Can’t imagine any higher!

Holy god damn yall are crazy dedicated
Awe. Some.

Love these types of videos
where is this location? id like to jump here!
This may be the very last footage of ppl diving off the crane. Its been completely dismantled now, Jolly Boyz legends.
Crazy
How deep is the pool in the river ?
I’ve never touched bottom I’d say well over 20 feet.
How do you not get scared? I get scared just watching this
3:40 had me like 🤨
Scared us all, but he planned it. Ended up shimmying under the crane to gainer off the end!
How high is it
75ft
it is just such high quality content !!!! nice
Thank you Jakob!

I watch it when I show people the area I go to every year to fix an old cabin up there with a friend who's family was part of the jolly boys mine
