None of these operators are idiots! They're all carrying out dangerous work obviously, but they're operating the machinery as intended and any type of heavy engineering work has high risk. Earthmoving and demolition companies don't bring heavy lift cranes with them to each job to load and unload excavators and the plant demolishing the concrete is specifically designed for that purpose. Jumping out of a plane is dangerous too but we don't call Paratroopers idiots for doing a job which their trained to do.

I had an uncle who was an excavator operator professionally. I watched him do things like this out of necessity. Some of these people, the operators, are artists with these machines.
LOVE watching humans skillfully operate heavy machinery and HGV's. I get excited watching drivers manouvering into my local supermarket loading bay, pure admiration 💁.
3:10 When I was a kid, my grandfather had a small excavator that we dug boulders up with. He used to tell me that there is a difference between someone who can run an excavator vs. someone who can operate an excavator. That man, is definitely operator level!

That cliff shot pretty insane didn't look like anybody was at risk besides himself though. Sometimes someone has to do it. Skilled trades are underpaid not upriciated enough. A lot of hard workers taken for granted.

Him taking away a bit from that edge, driving it down and filling it back up if needed, would had taken 30 min max. I dont know how your worksafty standard's are in your country, but doing that stunt in sweden would had been grounds for beeing fired on the spot. Reguardless if it went fine or not.

That's the point of modern machines. It allows people to do the work of many individuals way harder, better, faster, stronger. Did I quote Daft Punk? Yes. Would I do it again? Absolutely.
Every one of these operators are top notch professionals that I would highly recommend and personally hire simply based on the videos provided. Actions speak louder than words.
My dad was an excavator mechanic...a really good one. Sometimes when there was no dock available to unload the machines he load/unload them like this. Even the excavator operators used to be amazed with the skills and balls needed. If it weren't men with this kind of skills it would be necessary a lot more machinery and men to get the job done. By the way, the dude on 2.46 is cleaning the inner tracks. Never seen it before...really clever way to prevent damage in the future...Top! The title is the only idiot thing here

All of these clips take place in Japan. I know a handful of guys (I've worked at a large job site in Fukushima) who drive these. Trust me - They know EXACTLY what they're doing, and they know EXACTLY the limits of the machine and how far you can tilt it before it'll fall over. It's pretty incredible to watch in person (And even more so when they bring the bucket right up to your face).
I'm a carpenter Foreman I build Bridges, so I get the pleasure of seeing some of these really good operators do some crazy s*** on slopes. Don't know if I call them idiots, takes some serious skill

So where are the idiots??? I see exceptional, highly skilled heavy equipment operators getting more out of these machines than the manufacturers ever dreamed possible. Those who can - do, those who can't - criticize. Don't disparage what you don't understand.
the ones making these machines definitely knows what kind of world they are going into and have some of the better and "crazier" drivers at the plants pushing the machines to their limits long before they see customers (or even the production line)

Most of these are not that hard of you've ran a machine much. I wouldn't trust sitting on the side of that high wall though. But loading and unloading on a truck, going down steep hills and such are not that bad
The most exciting moments in an excavator are when you know the machine can do it but your body barely stays in the operator's seat. That being said I would have approached the slope differently than the first guy. It was kind of dangerous.
I had a chance to learn from my uncle when I was a teenager in Az. Sorry I didn't. it ended up paying quite well. Don't know about now though. I had a fear of loud explosions even thunder and my uncle's backhoe would backfire sometimes. My family just laughed at me.

I always wondered how they got those onto the heavy machinery flatbed lowboys but never could see it happening, I at 1st assumed a crane but then figured maybe they just drive up on it lol. Never thought they could use the arm to just maneuver themselves onto it. Ive done some unique things in a orderpicker at home depot things others would need a forklift or help to do but couldn't think of them using the machines like that. 👏🏿👏🏿👏🏿 they deserve a raise.
