Whoah, I didn't expect this video to be that interesting! Also, props to you for focusing in a thing so "underground" like Killer7, you knew you wouldn't get a million views because most people wouldn't care, but still you did this. It shows how much you love comics and videogames.
+CookiesXSugar Thank you very much! As for the game, I suggest you look into it, but if you can't/don't want to play it yourself, then I provided a link to my Let's Play in this video's description. :)
I love this game so much actually playing through it now! haha happy to see this video was even uploaded this year! games like this will never get enough praise :S
Well I gotta say, for a first timer(acting wise), you actually did a good job! (obviously there's much room for improvement should you decide to do more skit-ish videos in the future, or another crossover) Overall a great crossover and... Man, a former luchador blocking a bullet with his head... That's art in it's purest form :D
+roler42 Yeah, there's definitely room for improvement, regarding my on-camera stuff. Even little things like making eye contact would be a good start. I'm so used to being off-camera that things like that didn't cross my mind, though they should have. Thanks a lot for your support!
'Kay, to start off, I think you two worked great together. I've been a fan of Linkara since forever, and I've been a fan of you since I saw your let's play of Galerians on front page of the old TGWTG site, so watching you two tackle a review together was great fun. And your styles meshed well, since (I've felt, at any rate) that both of you have always tried to balance being humorous and being informative. So all in all, awesome job. In terms of the subject of the review, I admit I almost went into a coma from the concentrated awesome. I've been a Suda51 fan since high school, and Killer7 is my favorite game of his, so yeah. I knew these comics existed, but could never really find anything regarding their content. So getting this glimpse of them was great. It's also interesting noting the changes in arrangement of events and the design of some incidental characters; the stuff with Mills, the appearances of the people living in Ulmeyda City, et cetera. End of the day, great review.
+Jay Thank you very much! It was a real treat to be able to work with Linkara, and despite my clunky on-camera deliveries, I'm happy with how the video came out. :) Killer7 is probably my favorite Suda 51 game, as well, though No More Heroes comes really close. For just plain gameplay, though, I gotta go with Lollipop Chainsaw. You can actually read comics 0 and 1-3 on the Killer7 SINdicate site (missing 1/2 and 4, though), if you want a more detailed look at the comics. :)
13:52 Killer7 is a serious game, while not taking itself serious..... Resident evil made crossovers with MARVEL. We can expect similiar things here. That all games are connected
Like Dave said, I was wondering if you were ever going to do a crossover since joining Channel Awesome. And now you have! Great job! I loved the review. :D
+alameachan Yeeeeah, I definitely noticed that while editing. It wasn't so obvious during the actual filming, but boy, does it show in the final product. :-P
Really good job for a first on screen crossover. Obviously still some learning points, but you interacted pretty well and brought different things to the video; Linkara with his comic book wisdom and you with your gaming and Killer 7 knowledge. Are there any other creators you'd like to do crossovers with? Or other potential options for crossovers? With some of the weird games you've played, there's got to be some weird movies or board games you could look at with other reviewers in different mediums if you were so inclined. I know reviews and things like this aren't your staple, but mixing things up for a change looks like it was pretty fun.
+Jason Lee Yeah, my acting was clunky as all hell, but I'm happy that we got the video out there. :-D Sure, there are other people I'd like to do crossovers with. The idea by itself sounds like all kinds of fun. :)
+Lotus Prince I actually thought the acting was generally fine, especially for a first go with someone you've not filmed with before. I've always wondered about the practical side of crossovers, particularly ones filmed at cons. Did you write the whole thing, then Linkara punched it up? If so, did you write a script then split it in two with a couple of interacting sessions or were there specific parts for each of you? And when writing the parts for Linkara, did you try to consider his character/persona or did you leave it to him to adapt things to what he would normally be like in his own show. Sorry for all the questions. It's just interesting to me and there have been quite a few crossovers I've seen in the past where the two people didn't have good on screen chemistry or didn't interact at all and it seemed like almost a waste to have done it, but this one seemed like a good fit and you guys worked well together.
+Jason Lee Yep, I wrote the whole thing, and Linkara ad-libbed parts that called for his opinions, and gave me tips on where to insert jokes, and things of that sort. We did the whole thing in about an hour and a half to two hours, in the same room, mostly reading off of the scripts. I didn't consider the actual Linkara character much, as it's a straight review, and not part of his plot line.
This was a fun review, and thankfully lacking in some of the more overwrought theatrics other crossovers have. Those are fun, but they don't need to show up all the time and I'm glad you kept it simple and went right to reviewing the comics. I might need to pick those up now if I can find them.
+ElvenRaptor I actually wouldn't have minded some more theatrics, as I'm dry, dry, dry. Maybe not skit-level action, but at least a little personality on my part. :-P Thanks a lot for your support!
Am super glad Safehead wasn't tossed in for an homage. With what actually happens in TEW he would make no flippin' sense. And the icky guy was a reason I didn't watch your LP. Still, this was so cool to watch. Also, NICE to the outro musing.
No, he actually has a purpose more related to... well... actually that'd be a huge spoiler but no, he's not just some Pseudo Pyramid-Head, not by a long shot. always :D was a fun crossover
Maybe Eternal Darkness, because of the source material, and Phelous is also really cool. I know that game rather well, and it's fun to play. Legacy of Kain's probably also fun, and I'm definitely a fan of Maven but I haven't played it before, so I don't have an informed opinion on it. I like Brows Held High, but El Shaddai, though beautiful, wasn't the most fun game to play. Similar thoughts go to Kingdom Hearts and DMC. I'd love to crossover with those producers, but I'm not big on Kingdom Hearts, and I have no interest in the Devil May Cry anime - I don't even have much interest in the games.
+Neon Wave Frankly, it's unlikely. I'd have to run into him at a con, and he'd have to agree to it and have a free schedule, and we'd have to actually do it. I'd like to, though. :)
Something I like about the comic is some of the characters and the story are actually different from the game (although I certainly prefer the game versions more). Garcian and Mask are more rude and nihilistic, Dan is more polite but also somewhat insecure (I think? He tries to act tough but it doesn't really hit the same as it does in game). In addition Harman and Kun Lan are actual enemies as opposed to being best friends on opposite sides. My favorite part is Kaede and Coyote have actual story roles (although Kaede's is still pretty useless since she doesn't talk).
Yep! I wrote this with a crossover in mind, though I'm not very good at coming up with scripted jokes. A few of the ones that made it in were his idea. :-D
This was a lot of fun. Truthfully, I'm surprised Lewis wasn't harder on the comics than he normally is since he HATES shock violence; and when you consider how Killer7 really pushes the M rating, I'm surprised he didn't just flat out leave. But then, the comic never got as far as Samantha raping the comatose Haman and all the stuff with Curtis Blackburn. Still, I would pay money to see Lewis' reaction to the Action Rangers having a shoot-out with the Killer7. I love Killer7. It's my favorite Gamecube game not made by Nintendo (1000 YEAR DOOR, BABY!) If there was one game I wish got an adaption for the Wii, it would be Suda51's masterpiece. The Wii motion controls would be perfect for the game. I already know exactly how to map out the controls. Will you also review the Devil May Cry comics by Devil's Due? It was a 4 issue mini-series that sadly was cancelled after the third issue. The art has that diluted color scheme to emphasize the horror element of the game and I think Lewis would like to talk out it. If not here than on his Longbox of the Damned.
+wdcain1 Things were a bit skewed, as I wrote this review, and while his opinions were truly his own, we didn't sit down and read the comics together, so he didn't actually see the vast majority of the frames. Indeed, I should've mentioned the sentai team. He probably would've gotten a kick out of that. :-D I wasn't aware that Devil's Due did DMC comics, as well! I never had much of an interest in the series, though, outside of watching my friends play it, so a review is highly unlikely. Perhaps it's best for Longbox material. Thanks a lot for the info, and for your support!
Shame that the comic got cancelled because I would've loved to see how it would've adapted later parts of the game. The comic removes some of the original's weirdness but streamlines the story to make it slightly more understandable. It's awesome how you got to collab with Linkara
+George Latimer He's a really nice guy. This video only happened in the first place because he took time out of his very busy schedule to do the video with me. The opening segment was done as a joke, but as it happened, he was very busy already filming a ton of crossovers that day, so it was a nice gesture to accommodate mine, as well. He was very polite, and also made some suggestions regarding when to do on-camera bits and how to make things more jokey, as my original script was quite dry. :-D
+George Latimer That's great to hear Lotus. Wow with this and the fun cameo in the NC/AVGN/TMNT cross over video. You're really becoming more part the Channel Awesome crew. How was the Con? do you recognised more with fans coming up to you? :)
+George Latimer The con was quite enjoyable! I didn't have any fans approach me this year (there's usually one per year, but I guess not this year), though. :-P
+GriffenSpade Lupin Yeah, I'm not too terribly accustomed to doing scripted, on-camera stuff, and it shows, even regarding little things like knowing where to look when we're on camera and Linkara's doing the talking. Fortunately, this was still fun to film. :) Thanks a lot for your support!
Lotus Prince No problem i,ve been watching your videos for years, so this was really fun to watch I mean a crossover with Linkara how cool is that. Plus I learned there are Killer 7 comics. P.S. how much fun was it to film?
+GriffenSpade Lupin It was pretty fun to film. Linkara's a nice guy, and gave me good advice regarding when to be on camera, and also regarding adding some jokes, as my original content was rather dry. :)
+Lotus Prince I love how you reply to my comments, also I'm watching your "No more Heros let's play" as we speak I'm on episode 3 :) you're my new favourite youtuber I watch your videos and fall asleep to them every night awesome
I'm personally saddened by the fact that this comic never concluded. Solely because maybe it would have explained the latter half of the game's plot. Seriously, this game gets...weird the farther you get into it. Weird in an incomprehensible way.
+Gaming Dreamer Regarding the Smiths, that was a flashback, and based on a cutscene toward the end of the game. It doesn't appear that you're using the Smiths themselves, like you're summoning creatures, but rather that you assimilated their powers. It's kind of sort of like Pokemon in that sense, but the actual gameplay only kind-of-sort-of reflects that.
It was great, however, you're lack of acting practize is showing. Sometimes you seem wooden. Also you act surprised that Mask Smith can stop the bullet, even though, you were the one saying earlier that this is the best scene. Other than that, it was awesome.
+RedHat Meg Oh, for sure. Most of my work on this channel is done off camera and off-script, so you can tell that I'm not accustomed to actual acting, and that I frequently miss little things, like looking at Linkara when he's talking, instead of what I actually do, which is sort of stare off into space. :-P As for Mask...um...er...I dunno, it's super cool to see even now? Yeah, okay, lame excuse. :-D Sorry about that, but thanks for your criticism and support!
Devils due G.I.Joe series was unbelivably terrible, the amount of bad characterizations, shotty artwork, and killing off characters for no reason other than shock value and exploitation is enough for an AT4W episode I would say, I honestly refuse to buy anything from those monsters at DDP!
@@lotus-prince if that’s true, fair enough, but I’ll never know for sure, because I’m not a killer 7 fan. What I do know is their G.I.Joe comics were annoying, badly written, sexist, and exploitive.
Whoah, I didn't expect this video to be that interesting! Also, props to you for focusing in a thing so "underground" like Killer7, you knew you wouldn't get a million views because most people wouldn't care, but still you did this. It shows how much you love comics and videogames.

I like that soft, almost musicbox style outro. Also, you were not making eye contact with Linkara.
+alameachan Yeeeeah, I definitely noticed that while editing. It wasn't so obvious during the actual filming, but boy, does it show in the final product. :-P
Speaking of comic book crossover reviews... Lotus, any chance you and Linkara could do a crossover review of the Little Nightmare's comics?
...there are comics of those? Woooooahhhhhhh!
Yep, at least 3 issues I think...
I guess I shouldn’t be surprised. Linkara and you are both awesome reviewers. Lmao Linkara Oney play videos where they draw Linkara was also funny. 😅
Thank you very much!
other thing that might have discourage the continuation of comics,
That one of the missions had power ranger knock-offs in it
+Dracologist That was indeed bizarre. People who weren't aware of sentai, but only Power Rangers, probably would've been weirded out. Good point. :-D
Really good job for a first on screen crossover. Obviously still some learning points, but you interacted pretty well and brought different things to the video; Linkara with his comic book wisdom and you with your gaming and Killer 7 knowledge.

Any chance you'll review the Corpse Party manga(s) with Y the Ruler of Time?
+Neon Wave Frankly, it's unlikely. I'd have to run into him at a con, and he'd have to agree to it and have a free schedule, and we'd have to actually do it. I'd like to, though. :)
I thought as much :/ Keeping my fingers crossed though.
+Lotus Prince Does Y even know about Corpse Party?
+ElvenRaptor I don't know, but if I'm the one scripting the review, then it doesn't matter. Linkara knew nothing about Killer7, after all. :)
That was more than obvious XD
Something I like about the comic is some of the characters and the story are actually different from the game (although I certainly prefer the game versions more). Can I see the comic online?
+Denzel Romero There's a website called Killer7 SINdicate, which has Issues 0 and 1-3 on it, but not Issues 1/2 or 4.

+alucardyoici I don't know if it's "active," but it's still up.

As for Mask...um...er...I dunno, it's super cool to see even now? Yeah, okay, lame excuse. :-D
Sorry about that, but thanks for your criticism and support!
+Lotus Prince I guessed that was it.
It was nice to see you with Linkara. Two of my CA faves in one video!
+RedHat Meg Thank you very much! It was fun to do. :)
Woo-hoo!
+MiscellaneousSoup Indeed!
w00t! :D
Devils due G.I.Joe series was unbelivably terrible, the amount of bad characterizations, shotty artwork, and killing off characters for no reason other than shock value and exploitation is enough for an AT4W episode I would say, I honestly refuse to buy anything from those monsters at DDP!
Oh, curious - I didn't know that. Meanwhile, this comic is pretty accurate to the game.
@@lotus-prince if that’s true, fair enough, but I’ll never know for sure, because I’m not a killer 7 fan. What I do know is their G.I.Joe comics were annoying, badly written, sexist, and exploitive.
@@jakeproven256 Oof, brutal.
