Loved this park as a kid. Mom took my Brother and I there back in the 70's and it sparked my imagination. I wanted to stay there all day and just walk around. Thank you for posting, great memories!!!

I thought I hallucinated this place, but after some Googling turns out it was real. 😂 This was such a cool place to go! I really thought it was just some weird dream I had but here it is. Dang. My childhood.

So funny...I have been looking this up as an adult because my husband never went as a kid. I am 28 and remember it as a fog. The humpty dumpty and the shoe slide is what I remember most. I hope to share this with my future kids one day! Happy to know this wasnt a made up memory!

I felt the same way! Not much info online about it. Some old pix of a storage shed with Humpty Dumpty and stuff in it. Would love to know “Where are they now?”

i remember going there as a kid in the early 2000's and boy it probably had half the stuff from this video at best, almost all the characters were gone and the brick building was falling to pieces. glad i can see what it use to look like

I have a picture in my baby album that my mom took of me sitting on the edge of the Pumpkin shell from the Peter, Peter, Pumpkin eater figurine. I hope they recreate this enchanted park soon. I'd love to see it just for nostalgia.

@@ChristheShrinerdawg Yep! Sadly though, it won't be in point defiance park. MetroParks doesn't have a place for it. We have contacted Pierce County Parks and we have found a really good place that we are interested in. We have started talking with Jim Reuter who managed the park and we might be checking out the figures and molds in a few weeks. He made the molds so he will know if they are in good shape or not. I'll update once more info comes out. Never Never Land actually had another place in Canada, that is where the auctioned figures was from.

@erinbricker-urbanhistorian5803 it's nice to know I wasn't crazy as they couldn't remember and was such a lovely childhood memory. Such strong memories of humpty dumpty, the giant and merlin yet google brought up nothing. It's a shame things like that wouldn't be appreciated by kids today.

Thanks for uploading, I remember passing this place many times but never actually went in.. I do recall there was a huge 'Gulliver' model from 'Gulliver's Travels' which is nestled in to Adventure Island to this day!
Don't suppose anyone has any footage of the gruesome 'waxworks' museum that used to be along the seafront or any old skool footage inside the Crooked House?
Seems we used to have a fair bit of creepy/fantasy stuff in Southend years ago!

I took my 2 children there in 1985. They loved it. So glad they got to see it before it was no more. I was sad to see how it was treated later...An adult going over the fences which were clearly to keep the displays safe. The lady showed a clear lack of respect for the displays. Now its gone. So Sad.

That place was so adorable! My mom took me there when I was very young, in the 70's! I revisited it within the last 20 years, and it was abandoned, broken down, vandalized, and had a horrible creepy feeling about it. Someone had set the hands on the "Hickory Dickory Dock" clock to 4:20! Made me so sad!

I don't know why people have no respect anymore, the parks folks were forced to close it up due to vandalism and such, it really is a shame that future generations of kids won't get to experience this sweet place. Only a memory for me. I think I was 12 the last time I was there. :(

Thank you so much for posting this video tour! I can’t find much about it online. I went there when I was about 4 in 1972. I only have a couple photos, one was at the front under the books. Like others have said it seems like a long lost memory. I remember it scared the hell out of me! Ha! The creepy music you added reinforces my fear and suppressed memory. LOL
It seems like such a long, long time ago in a galaxy far, far away from producing TV shows and feature films in Southern California now.
I always wanted to go back for nostalgia’s sake but I know it’s all gone now.
When I see the Simpsons go to Story Time Village it reminds me of this place. ua-cam.com/video/tX6cQYZS3IY/v-deo.html
I would love to see you team up with the kid from the “Emilio Exploring” channel for a couple episodes and pool your resources.
One trip I would like to see you guys cover is filming locations around Spokane from the TV show “Z Nation”
Together you guys could get hundreds of thousands of views from the sci fi Comic Con crowd around the country!
    Just a thought.
    Thanks again and take care.

Hello! Its me again! I wanted just to update you on something, it seemed that you are sad that the park is gone but I had some plans to rebuild it and update it a bit. We presented the idea to MetroParks and we started a gofundme (we are also going to be talking to investors soon). We were going to make the figures actually move and have sound in the park. It will also have history in it. I thought you might want to know about this especially if it actually goes through and plans are made. Of course you don't have to donate or anything but I would love it if you could maybe share it around! We will also be in contact with people who built the original place! Thank you for reading and here is the link if you want it! bit.ly/302GINX

@@erinbricker-urbanhistorian5803 Just wanted to give you an update. MetroParks saved 34 characters out of 78 from a fire a while back. Most of them are in good condition! The only three that are in poor condition, Little jack horner, 'Flower' the skunk, and the Witch. They even have the original Humpty Dumpty in good condition! We also got in contact with John Hewitt (He trained the rats in the clock and was the son of the last owner). I'll keep you posted on future updates!

@@ewokander Awesome! So the park's department called us today. Good and Bad news. They aren't very interested in the idea of bringing the park back in its original spot. This makes total sense because one day we went there to measure a few things, and the entire parking lot for never never land was filled up because of the picnic area. However, they are interested in bringing the park back in a new location in point defiance! I will have a lot more information next week though. Chances are pretty high that it'll happen!
Edit: Oops, completely forgot to update everyone on this, we ultimately decided against the idea of animatronics. We made that decision because we think that it would loose the feel of the park a little bit. You wouldn't really be able to take pictures with them. Instead we would add new scenes, and new waterfalls and ponds. If everything goes accordingly, we should start construction around in March of 2020.

It's at Point Defiance in Tacoma, WA, right next to Fort Nisqually. A one-way road goes through the whole park - you just follow the signs past the zoo to Fort Nisqually, and there's a parking lot there, and the trailhead where Neverland used to be is to the left of the Fort.
