Been using AKG'S since 89 when I began my career in radio, they were extremely pricey back then for a set of cans but the K92's are ideal and inexpensive today. AKG'S are best utilized in a professionally engineered studio🎯👌💯

Nice review, I wish everyone who reviewed headphones were musicians or audio professionals hehe, there`s a lot of "I really like the color" stuff out there xD
Kind of a shame that the K92`s don`t have detachable cable, but honestly, having it at all in this price range as the K240`s do is very nice.

Nice review. In my opinion in rare cases the K 240 will show some advantages. One of the important things for someone who is a beginner and in the phase of buying equipment is the fact that the K 240 have a higher impedance. This means that you need a output source that has enough juice to drive these at nice levels, otherwise you will need a headphone pre-amplifier. But this is a secondary problem to nowadays users, since the majority of people is using audio interfaces which mostly have built in headphone pre-amps. Users that are relying on studio sound cards will engage a serious problem with proper volume levels without a use of a headphone pre-amp. Even the K 92 which i personally owe are not really high volume driven on my M-Audio 24/96 sound card. To the point with the frequency response, the 1 kHz lower frequency on the K 240 is not really worthy to be mentioned, the response in the high frequency range is a different pair of shoes, there is a notable advantage in comparison to the K 92. All in all, both of these headphones are not in the high end league and far away from headphones that are way more expensive than these 2. The headphones are just a reference in mixing and mastering, they can not replace the importance of studio monitors. Sure there will be some amount of more detail on the 240-s, at the end of the day i need to listen to the K 240-s to convince myself that they are really a strong tool for mixing and mastering and really worth to spend my money on them. My recommendation is that everyone should try both, and the decision will be easier which one to choose. If used for recording, like in the video said, definitely the K 92. I had no opportunity to try a phonitor system, which is a room and space emulation that can make the sound and distance real life like on the headphones. The manufacturer SPL has a such built in feature in their audio interface for headphone users, and i read a lot of positive feedback from owners about it, in my opinion a such feature can make the mixing and mastering on headphones more realistic than just a conventional use.

I've had a pair of K-100s for 30years and they have taken a lot of abuse, such as running over the cable with chair wheel and over extending to the 10ft maximum length frequently. Still working fine. (it has non-detachable cable too)

I am looking for a pair of headphones for practicing guitar. I was looking at the K240 but seen some reviews that they lack bass response. I should mention that I also play bass guitar. My main purpose will be for playing guitar but they will probably be used to practice bass too. I will also use them for monitoring through my Scarlet but my main purpose at the moment is for practicing guitar. Which is better for guitar practice? Does the the K92 provide better bass response due to being close back?

(i just want to watch yt videos, movies, spotify). i heard u talk about open and closed back, so external sounds infiltrate the open back ones? or is it just the other way around? which one should i get??! or do you recommend other ones for my problem. thank you so much :)

49$ vs 69$ In my country they sell for 80$ vs 160$ go figure...Taxes (Uruguay -.-)
I end-up getting the K92 and coming from a Logitech G231 to this, you can tell this is a different world.
Short explanation, they sound like having a box speakers, similar to those you see on his desk sort of speak (the yellow/black).
Not great for gamming but it will improve immersion as a normal speaker room eco would (emulate this extremely well).
For movies and music they sound great but take time to get use to it since the close back return the audio with a shape an eco and this emulated a cinema experience to some extend.
They have amazing levels of bass (they can deliver) and great definition but if you fill them a bit 2 flat you can adjust it via software to add a bit more bass.
They can touch your ear on the size, but even if they do ain't a huge deal but definitely something they need to fix on future revisions, also the pressure on the side fill a bit high but
this probably is a trade off of having low weight design, having no pressure on the top of your head is a big plus.
I been listening to music and watching movies for over 20 years and this is the close thing I ever experience to those times I went to the cinema in my younger years, no regrets buying.

@@themusicianslounge8562 Going back to price more than a year later now K92 are 72$ vs K240 at 96$ in my country, I wonder if I should do the upgrade someday or jumpto into K240 MKii version at 180$. So far 2+ years using them and I'm still happy, had to replace the ear pads for new ones after a year+ of extreme heavy use but everything else stay as the day I bought them. I did fill the gaps on the ear-pad with toilet paper and was a nice solution to touching the ears, eventually I will end up using the broke ear-pads as they lost the leather and became even more comfortable at the cost of some lost in signature as the close seal get lost. This thing are fucking build to last, I was waiting for something to brake as usual but even the cable stood strong. I still don't get why they only use 30mm speakers but hope the bass level is good enough to enjoy movies since the K92 do a perfect job at low bass frequency, no equalization required at this point since they burn out pretty well over the years.

Good review. I think I'll opt for the K240s. I don't mix or record. I just want something good for listening to music. I bought some OneOdio headphones a few months back, and had to send them back because they were terrible, because they boosted the bass to ridiculous levels and it sounded unnatural. My favourite band is a Japanese group called Band-Maid, and the bass players is normally definitely prominent in the mix, but with those it sounded like she played 'lead bass' and the rest of the band were just accompanying her. Apparently that kind of bass boost is quite common in headphones these days, but it sounds like the K240s don't have it.
