Hey! So glad you enjoyed The Ruin! I thought it was a good, solid police procedural as well. And the audiobook version is great! Love love love your sweet puppy settling into her blanket 💖 so cute! Mirror Land sounds fascinating! I’m def gonna see if it’s at the library. Looks like your 2025 books are off to a great start! ❤
I yelled, “It’s snowing in Scotland!” at the start of this video.🌨Then I remembered that you don’t have a window on that wall, and that I was looking at your telly screen with a snowfall scene🤣
I love the Lucy trying to get herself settled for a snooze saga. I showed it my husband and he said it's like watching me trying to straighten the duvet every night... exhausting and pointless 😂😂😂 I'm currently reading There are rivers in the sky by Elif Shafak and loving it so much
@@MeMyDogAndBooks no its me that's got an ocd with the duvet being completely flat, he just watches. I know how Lucy is feeling, she's fed up of the routine but has to do it
A great read this January for me was “The Collected Regrets of Clover” (2023) by Mikki Brammer; an Australian author living in the USA. Clover Brooks is a death doula in New York City who feels a stronger connection to the dying than to the living. She has no life of her own until the final wishes of an old woman send her on a road trip.🚙
@MeMyDogAndBooks the last in the series was published in 2018. I thought they were older 😆 I like the main character, Frida. She's a psychotherapist but gets involved in crime cases repeatedly. She's a woman who refuses to take bs from anyone, which I very much enjoy 😉
Just finishing Echo Man on your recommendation and enjoying it. Are they your new varifocals? How are you getting on with them? I refuse to offer any further recommendations until you have read a Mo Hayder novel, preferably Birdman! 😂

My favourite book in January was How to Kill Men and Get Away with It recommended by you! Also very good is The Wedding People by Alison Espach ☺️

@@MeMyDogAndBooks it is, I was unsure I'd like it but it's fab. One to read slowly though, take in every word and enjoy the beauty of it

wow that sounds like a powerful read
I really enjoyed the Frida Klein series by Nicci French. Also haven't read a newer book by them I liked.
is that an older series?

I have a proper laugh out loud watching Lucy make her bed.
she’s a determined girl
I think Lucy’s favorite fairytale is “The Princess and the Pea”.😂
i think you might be right 😂

oh i’m glad you enjoyed Echo Man it’s dark isn’t it!
varifocals i’m slowly getting used to - the reading sight takes a little getting used to
so you’ve reminded me and i’ve just put a hold on Birdman and i’m 4th in line!
Excellent! I'm sure you won't be disappointed. Please let me know your opinion, I've got high hopes! 🤞
Ooh, I loved Birdman and the sequels. So sad the author died so young.
Say Nothing is a great book, if you want another read from that period is The Miami Showband Massacre by Stephen Travers.
oooh thanks for the recommendations!
I could watch an entire video of Lucy making her bed.🐕🛏
honestly the determination is inspiring
