Adam Vinateri’s leg is responsible for 3 of Brady’s rings lol
don't disrepect the 🐐
Yea cuz Brady’s the only qb that’s had a kicker contribute in games. Stfu 🤡
Yep
And Malcolm Butler, and the D vs the Rams. So, brady won 2 super bowls.
True, the rest was paid for
Kicking is one of the most interesting variables in sports imo. The fact that the creators of football thought “let’s put something into the game worth 1 or 3 points” is genius, and has greatly contributed to some of the most tense moments in sports history. So many classic nailbiters come down to a guys leg, in a sport where the ball is mainly thrown, is hilarious and awesome.
U thought not even reading all that bs
Then why would it be called "football" then if kickers aren't important? Lol
Going back to football's rugby roots, a touchdown originally wasn't worth any points on its own. A touchdown earned you a try for a placed kick at goal. Points were only scored by kicking.
Really puts the foot in football 🏈
Also a lot of disgust and emptiness on the inside if your team is on the losing end.
Skip says stuff for the drama and ratings. He has made a fortune saying dumb things. Special teams is a huge part of a team. Look at GB last year when their special teams had a blocked punt and blocked field goal. It changed the whole game in the playoffs.
Yeap, he is a professional troll. Simple as that he knows what he is doing.
@@justbigstepbro9167 He has made millions saying things that irritate people, he is smart. You are right, he knows exactly what he is doing.

@@Paul-ew5st kicker is a position on a football team so yeah it kinda does
It's arguably one of the MOST stressful position in football. You need such a strong concentration and mental strength to be able to go out there on ANY notice to make a game tying/winning field goal. Like in my honest opinion, every NFL kickers have the ability to make most of their FGs but what differentiate the Cody Parkeys vs the Adam Vinatieris is the mental aptitude and the consistencies.
Not hard kicking a ball dude quit trying to make life hard
Exactly. Look at Mason Crosby, has a weird ass ball trajectory, has had some bad seasons in terms of make percentage, yet has as many big moment makes as any kicker. Give me the guy who can live up to them moment over the guy who can kick bombs
Its the time when the entire stadium and TV audience is watching one guy and one guy only. Pressure
Cornerback is way harder! You’re covering the fastest people on the field while running backwards
@@dfite24 he’s not saying harder, he’s saying stressful, look at the dictionary then comeback and talk
I'm a Saints fan and not having Wil Lutz for a season showed me how important a kicker is to a team.
Bears fan here. I miss robbie Gould. Never missed him more than when I suffered through Cody Parkey. Kickers are as important as any other position in football.
@@calmdownbeavis7039 Kickers are definitely players. To say they are just as important as other positions is absolutely insanely wrong lol
@@alecmoore6955 They can win or lose you a game. Just like every other position. They have a job to do like every other position. If they are good at it, the team wins games. If they are bad at it, the team loses games. The records for the most points scored in the history of the NFL are held by kickers. And special teams just kicks ass in general man. Devin Hester, Primetime, Dante Hall, DeSean Jackson, Gale Sayers, etc. gave us some of the most exciting football plays ever. Skip Bayless is a buffoon for this statement. Good at his job? Yes. Bayless is proof that you can make a lot of money on TV if you have no wisdom, morals, honor or ability for self reflection. He is Buffonery. Football is a game about kicking, just as much as tackling, throwing, rushing and blocking.
I truly never realized the laces is on the long snapper. It makes perfect sense and thanks for sharing that knowledge! I can't wait for your bit about analyzing the small parts of the game thru NFL films, its very intriguing stuff coming from you. Keep it up!!
Kickers are hugely important to field position and the mathematical strategy to make point spreads harder to overcome. There’s a reason why kicking an extra point making it a 4 point game instead of a 3 point game is so valuable. It’s the most thankless job in sports, people only notice when you
Miss.
“Kickers aren’t footballers”
Well ignoring the fact they’re the only ones who’s foot touches the ball.
The punter is a specialist defence player.
The kicker is a specialist offence player.
And they’re specialty is so important that just like oLine men you only notice them when they get their role wrong, and usually then proceed to blame them for a loss. Because a shanked punt let the opponent get into field goal range easily. Or a missed field goal losses a game.
"If you wanna get paid for playing the same exact takes" Pat is awesome! I'm glad I'm not the only one. Cowboys, Brady, Lebron, KD, Baker....just awful 😞
Lather, rinse, repeat
They are literally the only ones whose foot touches the ball lol

As a football (soccer for ya) fan, what Skip said is like saying goalkeepers aren't footballers since they prevent opponent's players from scoring goals.
Just knows he is going to get pop on Mcafee. And he is right. Skip been on top of his troll game for a while now.
Yeah I'm sure he doesn't believe a lot of what he says....sure.
For a kickernits either the cushiest job or the most pressure, can go either way depending on the sunday, makesbit fun.
Eliminating special teams would be detrimental to the sport in so many ways. A whole game's worth of special teams plays is the length of one commercial break.
@@qaxcgyujm i miss real kick offs. And onside kicks which were actually possible
Now we know why they want it gone
@@qaxcgyujm
One day the NFL is just going to have to acknowledge that slamming people into each other at full speed causes damage and most of that can’t be avoided.
It’s not the kickoffs 5 times per game or the occasional helmet hit.
It’s the constant impact, play after play, that’s never going to change for the players that get CTE the most.
Basically anyone on the line, plus all the RBs and LBs gonna be at risk just to the dozens and dozens of times they run into somebody else at full speed every game
Don’t need to get rid of all special teams. Just extra points and field goals
@@qualicumjack3906 pretty sure I saw somewhere saying biggest CTE type collisions were on kickoff because everyone can on each other full speed, difference between full speed 60 yard collisions is way different than usually around 10 Yards Per Down, specially since as a Receiver you turn more than run full speed for a big play plus your not allowed to get hit until you make a play for the ball once it’s thrown, it way different for player to get hit full speed from a man running 60 yards that always happens than Occational long play that usually is more forgiving
That dig against Skip in the beginning was subtle lol
Not the Justin tucker flirting at the end🤣🤣 they all said wahhhh💀💀💀
Having kicks a way of scoring makes the players fight harder to stop an opponent or to get down the field.
Punts are exciting when a guy can run it down the field. (Also connects Football to Rugby).
I love Kickers/Punters.
Skippy is full of hot air. Always looking for the hot take, never played a football game in his life, but boy is he an expert.

Skip being a Tom Brady ball washer should appreciate kickers more than most. Seeing as kickers are responsible for at least 3 of Brady’s rings
Damn. Truuuuuu

@@mroctober3583 Dumb unoriginal point that's been made 100 million times. Kicking is apart of the game. Good kickers and punters can make a world of difference for a team. The are the highest NFL scorers. They also occasionally have to make tackles.
@@mr.brenman2132 but that's the whole problem. Football is supposed to be a team sport.... except for sometimes, when the game is decided by one guy coming in and doing a different thing. Its just out of place.
This show is hilarious in a way I can’t find a description for. I think it’s cuz I’ve been listening for like 3 years so it just feels like talking with the boys
its wild how many games have come down to kicking. When you look at the math of it all it opens up insane possibilities to get back into the game because of 3 points. And punting now is coming into a golden era where there is actual game theory for 4th down and punters that genuinely make a team better
That’s why it doesn’t make sense. Why should games disproportionately come down to a kicker? The offense and defense do 99% of the worm but your season comes down to a kicker who doesn’t even practice with the team in any meaningful way.
Without kickers, the game would see a lot more scores less games. Interception would increase due to plays trying to be made on 4th down and would most likely increase injuries due to forced plays on 4th when you could just kick the ball.
A disproportionate amount of injuries occur during the kicking game! Do you even watch football?
Would games even be competitive anymore…? If an offense can’t move the ball we’d actually witness game scores that could hit as high as 100 to 0 or whatever. Dominant teams would keep scoring and scoring off easy field positioning. Let’s say to solve this it’s turnover on downs and start at the 20 like a touchback. That just makes the game 1 dimensional…a bit more boring. Instead of an extra point you always go for 2. Disgusting 🤢 that means a higher probability of scoreless games as well…a turnover happens in a stalemate game in good field position they won’t be able to score.
@@timower5850 I played for 5 years and watch every single game and there really isn't, the majority of injuries come in short yardage situations, most punts end up going out of bounds or being a fair catch and most kickoffs are a touchback
@@bradybeijes3232 Check the stats and NFL's own studies. And you may have had a concussion or two of your own because you're misconstruing the point. The average of serious injury or concussion PER PLAY is substantially higher on kicking plays than on others. The fact that the MAJORITY of injuries occur on other plays is only because there are far more of them.
@@timower5850 the stats would actually say that the majority of injuries come on hits to a defenseless receiver, way to know what you're talking about though pal, now I'd continue arguing with you but you're really not worth my time
skip said johnny manziel was going to make the nfl look dumb letting the browns draft him . yea that worked out well for the browns
Here is a thought change overtime rules, start out like on the 20 yard line same side of the field, both teams kick a field goal, move back like 5 yards each time go till someone misses, or something similar to soccer

I long snapped in hs and they drill it into you that a good long snap has the laces perfect every time and it’s all on you. If you can’t do that, you won’t play at the next level
Once they make their first open field, tackle they become legit. Otherwise they are a strange breed. Our kicker was a prince from Fiji. Wilson Fatafehi aka Willie! Loved him!!

There's not another position more undervalued and disrespected while being widely influential in winning a game as the kicker. In fact, I would love to see a compilation of all the games played in NFL history, that's also including playoff games and championship games, that were determined by a last-second FG. I'm curious what the percentage would be.

Watch the end of the Bengals game week 1 vs steelers.. long snapper got hurt and they had to use their TE.. the missed every kick he snapped for and lost because of it
field goal shootouts for ot or double ot ‼️
The way to solve this is to incorporate MORE kicking. Make the drop kick 4 pts. Allow kick passes. I don’t know.
Way back in the day that was actually legal in American football! You could basically punt the ball forward whenever you wanted, and if you recovered the ball, you got to advance up the field. Kind of like rugby rules.
2000 Super Bowl Champion Ravens:
333 Total Team Points Scored
Stover had 35 FGs and 30 XPs for a total of 135 points or 40.5% of Total Team Points Scored.
We rode his leg to the Promised Land.
I did not know that it was on the snapper
One of the aspects of the game that's been forgotten over the years is that originally the game was intended for teams to run the ball, not pass. It wasn't until the early 50's that QB's began really cutting loose. Imagine what the game would be like now if it hadn't evolved? I'm not saying Brady or Manning or Rodgers for that matter wouldn't have won Super Bowls, but their roles wouldn't have been near as significant. So, in all honesty, the kickers that are in the mix of being real football players are tied to the QB position because without those long passes that eat up only a few seconds of clock, they would've been even harder pressed to get within field goal range by running the ball and taking up precious seconds that could've easily been avoided. Lay off the kickers, they're getting paid and I think they're doing a good job.
The whole team does work and they do decide. How do you think the ball gets down the field. It's called talent and not everyone can do this. Very important part of football. It's strategy at that point.
As someone who was a former kicker it’s one of the most stressful things I’ve done in sports. Cuz if you miss it’s all your fault in people’s eyes
Jus like dropping a pass, fumbling, missing a tackle and causing team to lose the game
