The reason I asked if people wanted me to go all the way through hell was because I wasn't sure if it was content people wanted to see, especially when I'm not going to be showing off weird game mechanics etc. But if you guys want hell, then bring on the pain.
So a few pieces of advice, 1 the physical damage of the weapon is completely irrelevant now, when hitting with poison dagger you are only reapplying the 12-13 second poison so it’s best to lower res, dive in hit a few monsters with it and back off. Now since it wasn’t covered I do not know what your charms entail, the way poison works from multiple sources is the bit rate is added together and the length is added and decided by the number of sources, so if you have some low dps poison charms could be truncating your length while not really increasing your damage and technically decreasing the total damage you are doing, as charms and poison dagger are 2 separate sources, along with the applicable poison damage added from the head in your off hand being added as a third source being added to your weapon is reducing the length, and reducing the average damages of poison dagger. It’s a bit hard to explain as the calculation requires understanding of bit rate damage, and the game running at 25 frames, along with the how the damage of poison is calculated. Now I would recommend removing the head for just an ancient pledge, or rhyme bone shield as the poison damage on necro heads are negatively impacting the build. 2. attempt to get a treachery as the on striking venom proc truncates all off skill poison damage to 10 frames allowing for charms, and poison damages from necro shields to not negatively impact the build. 3 when applying damage with the changes above will allow for a simple play style that allows you to lower res, dive in,apply poison dagger to a couple of enemies, pull back and allow the poison to work its magic, this will great reduce the mana consumption as hitting with poison dagger over and over is only reapplying the damage bit rate, the other thing to remember is that the time you swing with the dagger with a normal attack that damages if you have charms or a necro head, the farm you hit with normal attack you are preventing the poison dagger poison damage from applying as it is applying only the damage of the weapon and off weapon poison that frame. 4 poison damage is calculated the frame it is applied, so you only need to make sure that lower res is applied the frame poison dagger as that is the time where the poison is calculated, you do not need to make sure that lower res is applied the entire duration of the poison to maximize damage. So it is ok to let monsters already poisoned to drop lower res and focus on applying to to non poisoned targets to start applying the poison to them. For bosses it really is best to just let them get poison and not attempt to do damages to them and let the poison work. 5. Open wounds doesn’t not affect the poison frame rate damage, so I would recommend crafting a blood belt for easy open wounds chance. 6. If able to get treachery that is where poison damage charms are of value and worth keeping in the inventory.
@@breadnaught3711 The passion is one point, but all of that was well known 10years ago, people tend to forget about minor details in old games. The other point is that there is no better Diablo Game jet. Billzard forgot what made D1/D2 great and only slapping the name on action RPGs to make more money. (And the Fanboys buy blindly, like they entered the halls of the blind with to much gold.)
This is a great comment, thanks man. I think I am going to try and take this through hell, despite my dislike for the build and playstyle. I will make use of some of this advice for sure. Treachery is a great point!
@@breadnaught3711 thank you! Funny enough poison dagger build was my favorite as a kid. I loved my poison dagger poison nova necro. Was the first build I made it through the game with. Wasn’t til about 1-2 years ago did I revisit the build and learned all this knowledge on the subject. Though thankfully there are English resources that now explain it much better now lol.
@@RNGesus_Channel a few more things that I have thought of since the posting of the comment, I’m sure you have thought of 2 of them, but will state them regardless. 1 CB gloves are your best friend with bosses, rotation should be rapid poison dagger stabbing (poison dagger gives massive AR) till about half hp, then once at 50% ish hp its more about consistency with damage and not counting on lucky CB procs. After 50% Hp rotations should be lower res, poison dagger( make sure it hits), swap to decrep, with clay golem reviving to help tank, and hit with normal attack( you don’t want to be accidentally overwriting your poison dagger with a worse poison dagger proc as lower res is no longer applying ) to continue get chances at CB and Ow procs, once damage from poison dagger has been completed, lower res, poison dagger, decrep repeat. As you only need lower res on them for the time you are applying poison dagger and the decrep plus clay golem with slow them for good survivability. 2 clay golem with 1 point golem mastery and summon resist helps him tank a ton more. 3 lower res has decent scaling until about level 10 where it starts to fall off. 4 don’t be a afraid to after maxing out poison synergies to start putting points into bone prison to one help boost your bone armor, plus you can stab and then prison to not have to run away as much. 5 personal favorite, cure, insight, prayer act 2 merc does so much tanking and survival it’s kinda crazy. Should try it out. Or you can do the classic holy freeze for safety.
I mean sure, but there are always other ways to play builds in this game. Poison dagger with plague runeword clears the screen with the poison nova procs.
I was hoping that when I saw a gidbinn only run it was gonna be the poison dagger necro. To bad you can't do anything with the gidbinn but maybe you can make up extra damage with crushing blow, open wounds, critical strike and stacking elemental damage on gear and charms to dish out more damage
I once beat hell with a poison dagger necro but I was also using CE here and there. With the right gear and charms it's doable, but pure daggering would be too much torment to be humane xD
I feel like normal is probably enough. I enjoyed the video but i think unless you discover some insane way to buff it, nightmare and hell are going to be massive slogs.
Going for nightmare and hell might be a test of your patience but surely a big time investment for not much fun (if doable at all). Better focus on other fun and exotic builds !
I have to say you play fast and loose. You really should do these on Hardcore for the best video and also keep your potions up to date and kite enemies. There are multiple times in the video you're at half health and poisoned and scratching your face with one hand only on the mouse.
Hardcore isn't my thing, I appreciate that it makes the stakes higher but I think I'll leave that to some of the other creators. I like my reckless playstyle over the conservative requirements of hardcore. That being said I don't think I died in this challenge at all that I remember, so if that keeps up maybe I will transition over.
But beating Diablo 2 means you have to beat in on all difficulties

Yes, like the leg barb, we want the full run :)
Keep this up! Really enjoying the runs. Might have to get into mods and try starting with the Hellforge Hammer or Khalime’s Will

This level of game knowledge you have is impressive. The passion this game has created over the years is what keeps the diablo community going.

oh man you actually did it! That looks brutal towards the end. I don't blame you for not doing NM or hell.
0:43 you are in for a suffering. I like it
@@mihata-gaming Suffering is definitely the right word
Wow, ok you're just gonna ignore the Horadric Malus like that and jump straight to the Gidbinn....
If Gibbin is unique, can you up it to an Exceptional item?
Nope, can't up it either. Literally can do nothing with it that I have found so far.
13:20 that council survival was sponsored by Serina. 😅
That was fun. Very creative
Poison dagger is designed to put 1 enemy down and use CE for the rest of the pack.

The more i see your avatar the more i think of the d4 ending
This was a good video to fall asleep too. Poison dagger is, as you said boring.
@daviddaniels6645 Yeah, it's just not a fun skill or playstyle. I think this goes in the one and done folder.
@RNGesus_Channel the poison from the dagger should be over a shorter period of time, even then still would probably be a boring spec 😂
Here we go... Poor soul

@Count_Vampz Yeah, I think I want to dedicate my time to the challenges that excite me.
Didn’t know the d is silent
What about dual gidbinns?! that's very hard!

Can you beat diablo 4 by only using the in game shop ..

IMO the video is too long for normal difficulty. 32min looked like the 3 difficulties when I saw it
Good feedback. I try to make these kinda like livestream style, but I can cut more out to make shorter in future.
